Chapter 46
Sabrina's face was so severely bruised that going to the office was not an option. After handing over some urgent tasks to Eva, she stayed home to recuperate. On her second night alone, Nelson still hadn't returned.
Worried that Sabrina might be upset, Joanna comforted, "Mr. Tucker is a career-driven man. But it's also not good for men to be so immersed in work."
Sabrina merely hummed in acknowledgment and continued reading. Whether Nelson returned home or not, she did not care anymore.
By the fourth day, her face had healed enough for her to return to work. However, Nelson was still nowhere to be found and had not called. Sabrina did not contact him either. Except for their fiery encounter that night, which still seemed surreal to her, their marriage life had once again become cold and distant. She found days like these to be utterly meaningless. She found it ridiculous that she had held on to hope and expectation for three years. Sabrina felt foolish.
Sabrina soon arrived at the office. Just as she was about to get out of the car, she saw Amanda waiting at the entrance of the building.
Sabrina didn't want to deal with Amanda. So, she instructed the driver to head to the underground parking lot instead.
When Amanda did not see Sabrina, she grew anxious.
She assumed George had confessed to everything. Since Sabrina was unconscious, Amanda figured she could not take any action without solid evidence, even if she had her suspicions.
After all, Amanda worked in the supply chain, and Sabrina relied on them to sell the products. Yet, she never expected Sabrina to terminate their partnership.
Amanda, unwilling to give up, approached Oliver. He was not particularly capable, but his loyalty to Sabrina was unquestionable. He would carry out her instructions without fail.
Now, he shifted all responsibilities onto Sabrina and promptly disappeared.
Amanda was in a state of panic. Her procedure required order confirmation before shipment. Although she had confirmed the orders, the goods remained undelivered for 72 hours, causing customers to become furious.
Left with no choice, she had to call that person.
As soon as the individual answered the call, their displeasure was evident in their voice, "Didn't I tell you not to call me?"
"I took a risk for your sake. At this point, you can't just ignore it. I'm not asking for anything else. Just let me meet Sabrina. I can persuade her."
The person on the other end of the line took a moment to think before saying, "Wait for my update."
...
Upon her arrival at Breeze Group, Sabrina managed to organize most of the business affairs. However, there were still plenty of loose ends to tie up.
The endorsement shoot involving Pamela progressed slowly, stirring dissatisfaction among senior staff.
As Sabrina considered the best way to handle the situation, Eva entered and said, "Amanda is inviting you to a banquet. This time, you have to go." "Who am I supposed to show favor to this time?" Sabrina inquired.
Eva answered, "Mr... uh..."
"Mr. who? My brother?"
Sabrina was momentarily stunned.
"Uh, no... Mr. Tucker."
Sabrina was at a loss for words. Nelson? She found it impressive that Amanda knew someone as powerful as Nelson.
"I'm not going," Sabrina refused.
People could respect Nelson all they wanted, but she would not.
