Chapter 9
Chapter 9
TESSA’S POV
The journey back home was less stress filled probably because of the joy I felt. Who knew that my one day knowledge of herbs could save a dying child? I found myself itching to learn more, I craved the knowledge now, I wanted to keep on saving people.
When I arrived home at dusk, everything was silent, a sense of unease washed over like a fog on me. I heard the soft whimper of my child from inside and my heart flipped as I panicked and pushed open the creaking door, hurriedly rushing
in.
My eyes swept over the room, bile in my throat till it fell on Dylan at a dark corner with two of my children cradled in his arms while the third one was fast asleep in the crib.
He barely looked up but I knew he had smelt my presence.
“You’re back” he said standing up and gently dropping each child back into the crib.
My heart rate struggled to become normal and I ran a hand through my hair.
“Yes, thanks for taking care of them” I thanked him sincerely.
He shrugged.
“They wouldn’t shut up so I had to cuddle them back to sleep, I gave them some milk a while ago from the bottle you left with me”
I smiled at him
“Thank you, Dylan. You can go back to your pack now” I said moving inside to peek at the sleeping beauties.
He yawned lazily
“I’d rather wait a while. I’m a measly omega, I’m treated like s hit at the pack, I think I’ll just stay here for some hours to get my breath” he said sitting back down.
“What was the emergency at your pack that Gabe had to rush to?” I asked
His face scrunched up.
“Terrible business, a few sentinels were attacked and are on the verge of death. I was sent here immediately” He said.
My body tingled at the thought of dying people.
“That’s horrible, what happened?”
“There are a lot of rogue wolves gone wild around, they were on duty and were attacked”
I nodded, it seemed most packs were facing crisis concerning rogues – what about silvermoon?
I sat on the chair opposite him.
“I need to ask you something” I began
His eyes brightened for some reason.
“What’s that?”
It was something even my wolf was itching to know

Chapter 9
“What’s going on at Silver moon pack?” I asked
He looked away
E
“You’re the former Luna…. Why do you need to know what happens there after he rejected you?” He asked, his voice distant
I felt tears in my eyes at his words but he wasn’t wrong why was I interested in the pack affairs when he had kicked me out like I meant nothing to him? Wait, they tried to kill me… that was why I should be interested in their affairs, that was why…. there was no other reason or so I thought.
“I’m asking for crucial matters” I said fighting back the tears that had crept up.
He licked his plump lips and his face seemed paler than it already was.
“Like I said, I’m nothing but a simple omega however I can tell you one thing… something I think you’ll find important but don’t be too shocked” He said, his knuckles getting white.
My heart s kipped a beat as Dylan’s words hung in the air, what was he about to say? Adrian left the pack? Just what?!
“Just say it” I said, my voice a trembling mixture of hurt and anger.
“Alpha Adrian..” Dylan began softly “chose a new Luna months ago” He finally said.
The words hit me like a blow to my chest, knocking out air from my lungs, I felt pain when I shouldn’t, why couldn’t my wolf just accept that he wasn’t ours to begin with? But how could I just accept the fact that the only man I loved and trusted, accused me, kicked me out and shamed me yet he had already found a new Luna. Ha! This must all be a terrible dream.
–
“That’s…..” I paused, I couldn’t bring myself to say it I didn’t want people knowing that Adrian still affected me so I kept at stone cold expression on my face and forced a quivering smile to Dylan.
I felt as though the ground had shifted beneath me, my world spinning out of control. Adrian, the man I had loved and trusted, had moved on without me, choosing another Luna to take my place.
The pain was unbearable, a raw ache that consumed me from within. But I refused to let it show, steeling myself against the onslaught of emotions threatening to overwhelm me.
you
“Thank for the info” I said. Dylan wasn’t fooled by the calm demeanor I was putting up, he was looking right into my. eyes and I knew what type of emotions whirled through them – the type that shouldn’t be there.
“Look…” Dylan began, reaching out to comfort me, I flinched away unwilling to seek solace in any one for now.
“You shouldn’t brood about him, cut all ties and move on from the past” Dylan whispered to me, his voice shaking with pity?
For me?
His words cut like a dagger, reopening wounds that I had covered up for years. His words had left me in a sea of pain and confusion.
I ignored the whimpering of my wolf – we had officially done the rejection rites, why couldn’t I completely cut off our bonds? I wanted to let go of everything, my past and all but thought of my children wouldn’t let me, I went through so much. to give birth to them and I wouldn’t let Adrian getting a new mate stop me from getting to the bottom of the conspiracies in the pack.
No, I had to stay strong and forget about him if I was going to do this and be successful in it.
It seemed as though Adrian’s rejection of me had brought me out of the shell I was enclosed in and now on hearing of his new mate, it had awakened a new side of me a side I never knew existed till now.
