Reclaiming the CEO's Heart

Chapter 193 Force Him to Marry

Chapter 193 Force Him to Marry

After drinking for a while, a loud "thud" echoed from the table as Ben angrily slammed his wine glass down.

Ben fought his way through battlefields, which was why he commanded respect without showing anger and emanated a strong sense of cold dominance. He was not a man of many words or smiles, and he said coldly, "Eat or leave!"

Lily quickly grabbed his arm, trying to smooth things over with a smile. "What are you talking about? Jacob seldom comes here. Who do you think you're snapping at? Do you think he's one of your new recruits?"

She then turned to Jacob and said with a smile, "Jacob, don't mind him. He's been in the military for so long and still thinks he's in the army after retiring."

Layla quickly added, "Dad, Jacob is usually very busy. He might have some work to handle. Please understand."

Ben used to view Jacob favorably, but ever since he found out that Avery was Jacob's ex-wife, he felt somewhat uncomfortable in his heart.

After all, they were in the same circle. Ben knew very well how many people Jacob had mobilized to find Avery and Ethan.

The men in the White family all had bad tempers. Ben directly said, "The child of you and Layla is no longer small. I asked you to marry her, but you insisted on getting engaged first. You not only keep putting off the engagement but still haven't gotten your marriage papers. Do you want to marry my daughter or not? Give me a clear answer today."

"Dad, don't be so fierce. We're all family. We can talk this out slowly."

"Yes, yes, calm down. Don't scare Jacob."

In this matter, Lily and Layla were on the same side.

Alberto, who had been silent, slammed his fork onto the table. "Enough of your womanly compassion. You two shut up!"

When Alberto spoke, Lily shivered, not even daring to look him in the eye.

"I have no objection to you being married before. Which man doesn't have a few women when he's young? Since you're divorced, you should cut ties with your ex-wife cleanly. What's this lingering

connection about?"

Alberto, despite his old age, spoke with a loud and strong voice, "So tell me. What do you take Layla for?"

All eyes fell on Jacob. He calmly put away his phone, his gaze lingering on the screen for a moment.

There were still no messages from Avery.

Jacob sat upright, his presence not diminished at all in front of the two heads of the White family. He had the air of a latecomer taking the lead.

"Mr. White, Sir White, since I promised to marry Layla, I will surely do it. As for Avery, you should know her current situation."

Jacob's voice showed no emotions, making it hard to tell if he was hiding any feelings.

"The Adams family is bankrupt, and

she saved Ethan all by herself. In terms of emotion, she is my ex-wife. In terms of reason, she is Ethan's savior. Should I just sit back and ignore her?"

His words were reasonable, but Alberto snorted and said, "There are many ways to take care of

someone heard she's been living with you these days. I can't guarantee you won't rekindle old feelings. The White family isnot some small family. I don't care how you played before, but now, you must give an explanation to my granddaughter."

Ben added, "Anyway, you're getting engaged soon. From today on, you'll live with Layla."

Jacob wanted to say something else, but they looked at him at the same time.

Alberto spoke authoritatively, "You young people care about choosing auspicious dates. March 14th is a good day. Get the marriage papers with Layla."
