Aurelia tried her best to control her anger. "I was blind before, which is why I fell for your lies. Now, me your excuses and step aside," she retorted firmly.

She listened to their conversation not out of hope for reconciliation, but rather to gauge the extent of their audacity.
Hearing their shameless pleas only reinforced her initial suspicions-they were just as shameless as she had anticipated.
Gina's expression was grim. "Auri, what do you mean by that? What have we done to deceive you?"
She placed a hand over her chest, feigning deep distress at Aurelia's accusation.
Curtis' once-handsome face drained of color. Recalling Melanie's earlier warnings, he clenched his jaw and confronted Aurelia. "You've changed. You weren't like this before. Could it be that everything Melanie said was true? Have you found someone else? Have you betrayed me?"
His voice rose to a near-ferocious roar as he spat out his accusations.
He couldn't believe she'd betray him.
He had believed she would stand by him for a lifetime, only to discover she had willingly stooped to the level of being someone's sugar baby.
"Auri, you've always been a good person. Are you really going to forsake the bond you and Curtis shared for so long? Even if you decided to end things, why resort to being someone else's sugar baby?" said Gina, taking the moral high ground.
At that moment, she resented Aurelia. If a breakup was inevitable, it should have been her son to initiate it.
Even if they were no longer together, why should Aurelia ascend the social ladder when Curtis hadn't found anyone else?
Gordon's brows knitted together in confusion. "Are they delusional? First, the Leedons accused me of being Ms. Shaw's sugar daddy, and now them too. Are they all out of their minds?"
He discreetly observed the shift in Matthew's expression.
Matthew shot a cold glance in Gordon's direction, as if questioning, "Are you even worthy?"
Internally, Gordon screamed, No, I'm not!
Matthew's gaze shifted to Aurelia's hand, tightly clutching the medical report. His eyes darkened slightly, hinting at a storm brewing within him.
"Sugar baby my a's! Have you no conscience? What goes around, comes around-I trust karma will catch up to you. It's astounding the kinds of people that exist in this world. Do you think everyone is as unscrupulous and despicable as you are? Move aside!" Aurelia's patience reached its breaking point.
It's that same-old emotional blackmail talk again. How nauseating.
Curtis and Gina stared at Aurelia with wide eyes, as if she were a stranger. Chapter 66 I Was Blind
"Aurelia!" Gina's voice quivered with fury, her face contorted with rage.
Curtis expression darkened. "Do you even realize what you're saying? Aurelia, this isn't like you."
At that moment, Matthew strode over with purposeful steps, his long legs carrying him swiftly. With her back turned to Matthew, Aurelia didn't notice him approaching.

Curtis wanted to continue arguing, but when he saw Matthew approaching with Gordon trailing behind him, he seized what he perceived as a lifeline or an opportunity to shift the tide. Advancing in determined strides, he first pointed accusingly at Gordon before turning to Matthew. "Mr. Quigley, your assistant leads a scandalous private life, stealing other people's partners. My girlfriend, innocent and fresh out of university, has fallen victim to the deceit of this very assistant of yours!"
His demeanor, brimming with self-righteous indignation, painted him as a victim.
He was determined to ruin Gordon.
Aurelia couldn't believe the audacity of Curtis' actions. Once-again, his shamelessness left her stunned.
Gordon stood there, dumbfounded. "You spend your days gallivanting around, entangling yourself with the Leedon family's fake heiress, and yet you have the nerve to smear my name and that of Ms. Shaw's. Since you're here at the hospital, why not seek the advice of a reputable specialist and have yourself examined?"
"Curtis, I always knew you were shameless, but I never thought you could sink even lower. Aurelia strode over and delivered a resounding slap across Curtis'
face.
She had been wanting to do that for a long time.
What had happened in the past fueled an overwhelming urge within her to
obliterate her history with him.
She couldn't help but ponder how she had fallen for Curtis's deception in the first place, wasting seven years of her youth.
Matthew cast a brief, condescending glance at Curtis, as if he were nothing more
than an insignificant ant.
He didn't say a word, but the disdain emanating from him was palpable.
Stunned by the unexpected slap, Curtis stared at Aurelia in disbelief. "Did you just hit me for that man? Aurelia, you've changed!"
-You
dare to strike my son?" Gina erupted, her voice trembling with rage. "Have you lost your mind? you honestly believe my son cares for you? He only tolerates you because you cling to him like a leech. You think you're some wealthy heiress, but your own parents don't spare you a second glance. You're just a country bumpkin. How dare you lay a hand on Curtis? I'll make you regret it!"
The torrent of anger left Gina breathless, her body weakened to the point of
nearly collapsing.
Yet, her expression remained ferocious.
If not for her frail state, she would have already lunged forward to tear Aurelia
apart.
"Tell your son to take a hike," Aurelia retorted icily. "Since he parades himself as
innocent and refined, he

Aurelia took a deep breath, her complexion paling even further. Standing before Matthew in her disheveled state, she felt a pang of embarrassment at being seen
in such vulnerability.
When Gina fell ill, she had devoted more time to caring for her than Curtis had.
Yet, there was no hint of gratitude in Gina's heart-only mockery and a sense of
entitlement.

Gina leaned in to whisper to those nearby, "I can't stand her. The moment that young lady arrives, she feigns illness and does nothing,M leaving the young lady to run around serving her. And the moment the lady leaves, she immediately accuses the lady of being cheap, insisting she cater to her whims or else she'll force her son to end the relationship! That young lady is such a nice person. If it weren't for her infatuation with Gina's son, I would have wanted her as my daughter-in-law. It's simply intolerable." The content is on Novelxo.org! The patient's voice was not too loud but audible enough for all to hear.
Matthew shot Aurelia a meaningful glance before whispering a few words to
Gordon.
"Ms. Shaw, would you like me to help you find a lawyer? Rest assured, they will
ensure every penny is returned to you." Gordon offered.
He was genuinely disgusted by Curtis and Gina.
Such shamelessness!
