Evelyn understood Mabel’s intentions, and of course, she would heed the latter’s instructions.
She immediately said with a smile, “Mrs. Quigley, I will learn it diligently.”
Um…
With a deep gaze, Matthew looked at Aurelia. “Then I must trouble you, Ms. Sh-”
Mabel cast a glance over.
“Thanks in advance, Auri.” Matthew retracted the words “Ms. Shaw.”
Aurelia found it hard to maintain the smile on her petite face.
Many people called her Auri, but when Matthew did so, it felt somewhat awkward to her.
At the Leedon residence, Luna received a call from the hospital, asking Melanie to come to the hospital the next day.
She was also informed that the blood donated previously was not
enough.
“Mom, could it be that Aurelia no longer wishes to save me? She hates me and seems to wish for my death. I truly don’t know what I’ve done wrong. Not only am I ill, but I’m also despised by my sister. My parents have become my adoptive parents.”
Melanie held Luna as she wept.
Watching her own daughter cry, Luna’s heart ached unbearably.
“I called and reprimanded her for three days. By now, she must have realized her mistake. I won’t hold her wrongdoings against her anymore. I’ll have her rush to the hospital to draw blood first.”
Melanie looked cautiously at Luna. “Will she really go? Will she make any more demands? I don’t want to put my parents in a difficult position.”
“If she dares to make any unreasonable demands, she shouldn’t even think about coming back in the future. Just a couple of days ago, she had her adoptive mother call me. Perhaps she regretted leaving the hospital that day but being too proud, she must have wanted me to be the first one to speak up.”
While speaking, Luna’s brows furrowed tightly, her reluctance to acknowledge Aurelia as her own child growing stronger.
The latter of poverty and was not in any way presentable.
Melanie relished in a sense of schadenfreude. The more Luna detested Aurelia, the more she felt that Aurelia was nowhere near as good as her.

Over at the Quigley residence, Aurelia was massaging Matthew’s head under the watchful supervision of Evelyn,
The two of them were physically close for the
e very first time.
Originally, Matthew thought that Aurelia was fooling his grandmother, as only the latter would fall for her tricks.
However, when Aurelia’s gentle hands precisely landed on every acupoint on his head, they induced a hint of drowsiness in him who usually had difficulty falling asleep.
He felt as if it was magic.
At first, Evelyn, who was standing by the side, truly wanted to learn the skill. After all, she was instructed by Mabel to do so. However, after observing for a while, she understood each change. in technique and the shifts in acupoints as explained by Aurelia. However, she just couldn’t remember all of them.
Never mind, Old Mrs. Quigley isn’t serious about me learning anyway.
Right then, a phone suddenly rang at an inappropriate time.
Upon looking at Aurelia’s phone on the side table, Evelyn said, “Mrs. Quigley, it’s your phone.”
Aurelia had just finished working on the last acupoint when she went over to answer the phone.
“Hello.”
“So, you’ve finally bothered to answer the phone? Have you realized the trouble you’ve caused? Let’s just forget about what happened a few days ago. You’re inexperienced, but I can guide you gradually. Come back now, and tomorrow morning, come with us to the hospital.”
Luna spoke with an air of superiority.
Aurelia cast a glance at Matthew, who was sleeping on the couch before she picked up her phone and walked out.
No sooner had Aurelia stepped out than Matthew, who had been dozing off on the couch, opened
eyes. His gaze, slightly icy, briefly swept toward the front door.
his
He faintly heard the scolding emanating from Aurelia’s phone.
Why is the Leedon family so unkind to Aurelia?
Upon seeing that the call hadn’t been disconnected, yet unable to hear Aurelia’s voice from her cell phone, Luna, who was already in a bad mood, got even angrier.
“When did
you
become mute? Say something!”

something was amiss. “What are you saying? Mel is your sister. You’re just donating some blood. Why do you have to phrase it so unpleasantly? Come back now, I’ve switched your room. This time, it’s a room similar in size to Mel’s.”
Aurelia laughed.
Laughter echoed from the phone, giving Luna the wrong idea.
She assumed that Aurelia was happy because she had achieved her goal.
Luna furrowed her brows, continuing to speak impatiently. “After going to the hospital tomorrow, you’ll accompany your father to his company. He has arranged a clerical job for you. there.”
“Are you done speaking, Mdm. Campbell?” Aurelia asked, her sarcastic smile fading away.
The true nature of her biological mother was horrible.
“What did you call me? I am your mother. How dare you address me as Mdm. Campbell?” Luna was extremely upset.
“Since when does a mother behave like you do? Those not in the know would think I was your enemy,” Aurelia sneered.
In her previous life, she had been assigned to the smallest room in the entire mansion. Luna was often left alone, with no sight of anyone for days, even weeks at a time. And when someone did finally appear, they would only express disdain for her due to her disability.
I’ll let Melanie slowly savor the love of such a mother.
“What did you say? Aurelia, did someone say something to you, causing you to speak to me like that? The money you’re spending now is all given by us. Your credit card has already been stopped by your father. If you don’t want to end up penniless and homeless, you better hurry. back and apologize!” Luna thought she must have heard wrong.
Aurelia had already put away her phone.
After Luna finished shouting, she then placed the phone to her ear,
“Both you and Mr. Ledon are not that old: You shouldn’t be suffering from senility yet. After I was taken in by the Leedon family, I didn’t spend a single penny of yours, I suggest Mr. Leedon thoroughly check his credit card expenditure records. Since you often take Melanie to the hospital, haven’t you ever thought of getting a CT scan to check your brain?”
With that, Aurelia ended the call.
She knew there was a vineyard at the Quigley residence.
She then went over there.
Didn’t spend a single penny? Those who come from the countryside are habitual liars. She claims she didn’t spend their money, but how could that be possible? She didn’t even get a job after graduation.
“What did Aurelia say? It seems like you’re really angry.” Melanie was very good at reading one’s mood.
Hmph, how can Aurelia possibly be compared to me? Who knows, I might even become Matthew’s girlfriend in the future. By then, Aurelia would have to look up to me even more.
Luna, in a fit of anger, hurled her phone toward the couch. “She refuses to come back, dares to defy me, and even claims she hasn’t spent a penny of our money. What on earth has Phyllis taught her? She not only has the audacity to lie but also shows no gratitude!”
Melanie’s eyes sparkled.
She knew that Aurelia was not lying. Curtis had mentioned that Aurelia used to work during the winter and summer breaks in high school, and also spent her spare time working while in university. Saving money was not a difficult task for her.
However…
“Aurelia has the card that Dad gave her. How could she be so naive to think her lie wouldn’t be exposed? Mom, please don’t be mad at her.”
Upon hearing Melanie’s words, Luna became even more infuriated, “This is absolutely outrageous!”
At the Quigley residence vineyard, Aurelia, accompanied by a housekeeper, picked a few bunches of grapes after ending the call with Luna.
Shen then went on to pick strawberries.
She was squatting, picking strawberries when Matthew arrived.
