Python: Soldiers Of Hades MC, #2

Python: Chapter 10

When he got out to the main room, Cobra seemed to have a war center going at a table where men were lined up and he seemed to be giving them locations of where they were supposed to be.

Three tables were full of Copperhead’s weapons, packed full.

Python also saw at least 20 new men in the room that he’d never seen before.

Cotton waved him over to the coffee station.

Python walked over and accepted the mug he handed him.

“Sleep well, Pops?” Cotton asked casually as he sipped his coffee.

“Yep,” Python popped his p.

Cotton chuckled.

Python looked over at him. “Somethin’ amusing there, son?”

“Yeah, you look like 10 years younger today, Pops.”

Python raised a brow at him. “Aww, stuff it.”

Cotton kept chuckling.

“So, where’s your girl?’ Python asked.

Cotton swung his mug over.

Python followed the direction he indicated to.

Tory stood at a weapons table looking like a kid in a candy shop. She was looking down the sights of an AK 47, of all things.

Python grunted. “You aren’t gonna let her fight are you?”

Cotton shook his head. “Just try and stop her.”

Python stared at him. “Come on boy. You can’t be serious.”

His son shrugged. “She can probably shoot better and take men down faster than most of the brothers here.” He turned and pointed to something on the table behind him. “But she cannot participate unless she wears that.”

Python peered around him to see a smaller sized Kevlar vest and a swat helmet. “M-hmm, have you told her yet?”

Cotton looked troubled as he stared across the room at his woman. “I am about to. If she refuses, I may have to borrow some duct tape from somebody.”

Python chuckled.

Breakfast was served to the many brothers gathered in the clubhouse.

Dewey then came over and introduced Python to GTO and Whiskey from Hell’s Fire Riders. “Pappy is elsewhere but we came in his stead.”

Python reached out and shook his hand. “We are glad to have you.”

After a long battle planning session with Cobra, Rambler and four brothers, from Brothers of Chaos, Tate, and Jack and more brothers from Lost Sons MC, Python took a tray of breakfast back to his room.

Opening the door, he noted the bed was empty, he walked over and set the tray down on the small table. Turning, he saw the bathroom door open and Peggy Sue stepped out, wearing one of the new outfits he had purchased for her. She also wore new shoes. They looked great on her. All of it did.

She wore a lavender colored blouse and jeans. They were a little loose on her but she still looked wonderful with her red hair hanging down along her shoulders.

He took in a deep breath. God, she was still as lovely as she always was. “You look…” He stared at her.

Peggy Sue halted when she spotted him. “What?”

He tried again, “You look beautiful, Peg.”

Again, with the pink flush on her cheeks. “I doubt that, you are just being kind.”

Stalking over, he grabbed her up. “Now, when do you think I ever said something I did not mean?”

She gave him a slow smile. “Yes, you do have a point.”

He tugged her close and kissed her deeply.

Hanging onto his shoulders, she kissed him back.

When it broke, he smoothed her silky hair with his large hand. “I brought you breakfast. Come on.” He took her hand and sat her at the table.

She sat and grabbed the coffee mug. “Oh, with cream and sugar?”

He nodded. “I remembered, of course. In fact, I don’t think I forgot anything you liked, or anything about you.”

She paused and looked into his eyes. “Really?”

“Of course. I tried to,” he admitted. “It was painful to remember. But woman, you were in my blood. There was no way to get rid of you.”

She went quiet as her eyes glistened.

He patted her hand. “Eat.”

She then did. After a few minutes, she paused. “This is too much food. Pancakes, sausage, bacon, and eggs? Damn, Tiberius.”

He laughed. “I am gonna fatten you up, for my own selfish hunger. I will want to feast on you every day too.”

Pausing, their eyes met.

She turned pink again.

He laughed loudly. “God, I love that blush. Just the same as always.”

“Yes, and you are shameless, like always.” She grinned at him and drank her orange juice.

Python waited for her to finish then he spoke, “The battle is already on.”

Stilling, she then set her cup down and stared at him.

“We got men getting weapons and there are more on the other side of town near the old warehouse where…” He sighed. “The last battle went down. The one where I killed that bastard’s progeny.”

Nodding, she sighed. “He spoke of it a lot. Well, not spoke. Ranted.”

Python reached out and took her hand on the table. “And you paid for that. I just didn’t know it. I should have looked harder for you.”

Squeezing his hand, she shook her head. “This was not your fault. I should have waited for someone to go with me to the store.” Then she paused. “But then, they would have been killed. There were four men at least.” She looked into his eyes. “But we aren’t going to discuss this again, Tiberius. No one can be blamed. We need to get past that.”

He let out a sigh, knowing what he had to say next, wouldn’t go over too well. “Also, I want you to stay here, when all this hits the fan. If they get past the front. Lock yourself into the tub room. That door is hidden. You will be safe there.”

She stood from the table. “No!”

He stared up at her. “Yes. I will not be able to focus if you are in danger, Peg. You have to.” He almost pleaded.

Her shoulders dropped as she sat back down. “Ok…” She let out a sigh.

A pounding came on the door.

They both looked over.

Python got up and stalked to the door.

Blitz stood there. “Shit’s going down, Boss.”

Python nodded and turned to look at Peggy Sue.” Stay here, do not go out this door, Peg. When the noise starts IF it starts… you know where to go.” He walked over and took her up. Kissing her for a long minute, he took her breath away. Then he pulled back to look into her eyes. “This will pass, sweet woman. Then we will have time to… grow older together. I promise.”

With tear filled eyes, she tried to look brave. “Okay, I believe you. Do you promise to come back here to me in one piece?”

Python nodded. “I promise.” Turning, he went over and locked the door, then went out.

Back out in the main room, he went over to where Blitz was. Cobra and Cotton were there too.

Blitz had his laptop out and a video playing.

All three were looking at it.

Python leaned in. “What am I looking at?”

“This is the old warehouse, the one you burned down,” Blitz replied.

They could see men were erecting something in the lot.

Python watched it for a few minutes. “Is that a pyre?”

“Fraid so, Pops,” Cotton said. “Looks like they are going to barbeque someone.”

Python shook his head. “We’ve got Peggy Sue, so what…”

The men on the video feed were dragging someone to the pyre.

“What the fuck?” Cobra asked aloud.

They all watched and finally, they could see the man being hauled to his burning death.

He wore priest robes as his silver cross hanging from a chain on his chest… glinted under the light.

“Well, fuck me,” Python muttered.
