THIRD PERSON’S POV

Viper walked into the building, and instead of finding his boss, he met Kate. She was smiling ear to ear and he knew whatever was going to happen would definitely not favor him

“Where is Alpha Cypher?” He asked “As obvious as it is, he isn’t here” She responded and he nodded. “Alright, I’ll come back for the report later” He was already at the door when she stopped him. “You’re to give me the report Viper and I’ll pass it to him” he scoffed and turned to her. “L“He doesn’t want to see you” She cut in before he could even make a complete statement “That would be because?”

“That would be because he is mad at you for giving him half false information, Viper. And also because you omitted some vital information” She responded, still smiling. That’s not true” he countered and just then. Cypher came in. He didn’t look happy. Okay…he never looked happy, but this time..it could be visibly seen that he was angry Viper!” He called out slowly and the guy smiled frantically. Something was definitely coming. The next minute, A slap landed on his face. It was so hard that Cypher’s fingerprints could be seen on his face. “On your knees” he ordered and Viper obeyed without hesitation

“You lied about the Silverno girl. You said she was aware of the werewolf existence, whereas she wasn’t Cypher informed and Viper bent his head downwards.” She is aware boss, she is aware of our existence” He defended. “At the time you told me, she wasn’t…” Cypher countered and he nodded “I’m sorry boss, I had my suspicions, I hadn’t confirmed it yet” he lied yet again, but this time he was sure Cypher would not find out since it had to do with his intuition. He knew it was Kate who had told his boss about that little stunt he pulled and he was going to make her pay for it. Did I ever mention to you that I need your suspicions? Am I to work with your suspicions?”

No boss, I’m sorry about that, it will never happen again. I promise” He apologized and his boss nodded. “It better. Now that’s one issue down. Why didn’t you tell me about the attempted kidnap of the Silverno girl?” He asked and Viper raised his head almost immediately. What was his boss talking about? Don’t give me that surprise look like you weren’t aware of the incident” Cypher was irritated and he felt like beheading the idiot in front of him, but he couldn’t. He still needed him. He was the only one who could give him the type of information he needed. But he wasn’t transparent. That was one of the numerous things he hated. But he was willing to give the guy a second chance. Not without teaching him a valuable lesson though “I thought you planned the attack?” He was beyond surprised.Or maybe his boss was messing with him, but then again, when has his boss ever messed around?

“What do you mean you thought I planned the attack?” This was a confusing situation. Did this mean someone else was out to get Leo? or could it be a rival pack? Does someone else want to conquer and take over the pack he had worked hard for almost all his life to lift? That was never going to happen under his watch

“Boss, I thought you planned the attack. I thought you wanted to kill her, you know, end the Silverno lineage” Viper answered. If his boss wasn’t the attacker then their pack was in grave danger, it only meant there was someone else out there who wanted to conquer them “Boss, this is a serious situation.” Kate, who had been silent all the while stated “Yes, we need to find out who the hell is behind that attack and also find a way to warn Leo, i’m sure he thinks I’m behind it” Cypher said and they all nodded. Viper stood up and made his way out of the building, so did Kate. They all needed to find who this new

Back at Fang Clan’s training ground, Raquel could be seen, jogging around the whole field sweating profusely

“Good job, One more time, this is your final lap” Leo yelled in encouragement.

“Where is Raymond?” He asked Mike, one of his trainees and the teenager didn’t have the answer. No one did, except for Flora. “He said he was going to meet with Beta Cade” She said and Leo squinted his eyes. Why did he just leave without informing him? He brought out his cell phone from his back pocket and rang Cade

“Hey man!” Cade said–immediately he pressed the green button. “Is Ray there with you?” He asked

“Oh no! He left two minutes ago” Cade answered and Leo nodded. “If you can still see him, tell him to get here fast, I need assistance” he said and Cade nodded and said “Alright, would do um..I’m at your home now and I can see some guy in your office. He is going through your documents. I questioned him and he said he is your best friend and you had specifically appointed him to take care of the pack while you’re away” Cade looked back at the man sitting there with a smile on his face.

“Who? I didn’t appoint anyone to take care of the pack while i’m away” Leo said, trying to think back. Or could it be that he had forgotten? “He says his name is Collin” Cade shed more light on the topic and Leo groaned in annoyance. That son of a bitch “He looks familiar…like the Collig back in highschool, you remember that weird freak that left during our last year” he added, making Leo angrier

“Of course I remember that son of a bitch” Leo responded between gritted teeth. “He is so weird, when I got in here, I tried questioning him but he just kept staring at me and after some point he began to blab about how he was a champion when it came to staring contests” Cade didn’t seem to notice the change in aura of Leo, he was just amused at how weird someone could be even after so many years

“Chase that idiot out of my office this instant” Leo ordered and hung up. “What is the matter?” Raquel asked. She was done with the jogging and was now sitting on the mat, taking a sip out of the bottle Leo had given her. She made sure to be extra careful, so that it doesn’t get finished which was kind of impossible

“Leo, I heard you were looking for me?” Raymond’s voice echoed and he nodded. “Where have you been?” He asked and began walking ahead, Raymond following in tow. Raquel rolled her eyes and made to lie down when she heard his voice. In her head. “Put on those boxing gloves and let Mike help you practice how to punch” With how tired she felt, she didn’t think it was possible to do that but when she turned her head and met his eyes, she jumped up immediately and put on the gloves

“Fucking asshole” She muttered and walked up to where Mike was standing. The day was a long one, Leo made her do tedious training exercises, even after her water got finished, he refused to give her another. She looked at him with pleading eyes

but he wasn’t moved. Soon, it was eight thirty pm and Leo decided that the day’s training was over

The teenagers got into their respective cars and went the opposite ways, so did Raymond. She was watching as the whole. place got emptied of people. By the time she looked at Leo, he was approximately fifty feet away. She had to run in order to catch up with him

By the time she did, she was breathing really hard. He didn’t wait for her to catch her breath or anything. “Are we seriously going to walk all the way to where you parked your car?” She asked “Do you have any other way?” He questioned back and she sighed. He was walking straight and steady while her legs were given out. She followed slowly behind and he reduced his pace so that she could catch up to him. When she did, she clung unto his arm for support. That was really helpful. He was walking too fast for her and it felt like she was being dragged. She was going through hell. Her eyes began to well up with tears and she tried fighting it back. She would never give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry because of his punishment

Leo turned and saw how she was struggling. A smirk appeared on his face when he felt her emotion. How pained she was and how she was trying to fight it. He had successfully gotten back at her, by making her feel the way he felt when he saw her basking in the pleasure his older brother was giving her. Different emotions and the struggle to let them get the better of

He stopped abruptly and requested to carry her, piggy back style. She was hesitant at first but then agreed. They walked in silence as the cool night breeze washed over them and she slowly drifted into slumber. Yup, On his back, but he didn’t complain
