Chapter Nineteen

Raquel’s POV

I made my way to the huge double doors that led to the exit and entrance of the building. I was on my way to find where Andrew resided as Leo refused to let him stay in the house

purpose upon seeing me approaching

“Out of my way” I ordered politely, but they didn’t flinch. It was as though they couldn’t see me nor hear my voice

“Can’t you hear me? Get out of my way” My patience was beginning to wane

Tim afraid we can’t ma’am” One of them spoke and I raised a brow

“And that would be because?

Surprising how he didn’t try to push it or anything. Instead he walked out Whatever he was going through right now surely was good for me and my sanity. Of course the guards parted the way for him. Trying to follow behind, they blocked the way again

I didn’t have to voice it out. My question was evident in my eyes. But they chose to ignore it. I stared at them for a reasonably long time, but they didn’t look like they were ready to let me out

I walked back to the bedroom, stomping my feet hard to the ground. I was so pissed

After about an hour or so of sitting alone in self pity, he walked in

I felt his intense stare at my back. I wasn’t planning on saying a word and seemed like he did too

Along awkward silence ensued for another hour before he broke it

“I don’t want you leaving this building without my consent. You almost got kidnapped last night and it is not safe out there.” He said. It wa authoritative, but at same time, it was an apology

I didn’t honor that with a response

“I’m not trying to restrict your movement. I just want to be informed whenever you’re leaving and I also want to know where. I’m trying to protect you” He continued

“Thanks, but I can take good care of myself I responded

“Oh of course. I uw how well you were able to protect yourself when those men almost kidnapped you” He was being sarcastic, but I didn’t care. I was good at protecting myself. Last night’s incident was only but a silly mistake on my part, which of course would never happen again

“Well, I don’t care if you feel you can take care of yourself or not. You would inform me before stepping a foot out that door” God I hated the fact that he could read my thoughts but I couldn’t read his

“How does informing you about my every move supposed to protect me? That question slipped out even if I had made up my mind to not talk to him again for the rest of the day

He gave me a look and I understood completely

“I didn’t know you to be dumb” he answered and I frowned deeper than I was doing before

“I will send some guards to go with you. Grez!”

“Fine then, I want to see Andrew, I love a lot of. I trailed off after noticing the look on his face

I won’t stop you from that, but what I make sure I stop you from doing is ever meeting that damn bother of mine” he retorted. I turned away from him. I looked up to him again and still no sign that be heard us, so I decided to go on. What’s the worse that could happen anyway! If eventually, it happened that he could hear me, then I accept it. It’s not like I’m trying to plor a way to kill him or anything. But I’ll be slightly embarrassed though
