Pregnant And Rejected Omega

Chapter Attacks

I stand by the table and look at the Earl.

“What do you propose?” I ask, knowing that he will have some suggestions.

I watch as he rolls out the maps. “The wedding is tomorrow, and it’s too late for us to go now. This is where they got through; currently, the soldiers on the second defence wall are holding up,” he explains.

“So we send more soldiers to ensure no one else can get through,” I suggest, and he nods in agreement.

“The plan is to ensure the soldiers are there and stop them from breaking through the second defence. After the wedding, our top soldiers and I go and push them back out of the kingdom.” He explains the plan while marking out the areas on the map.

“Send reinforcements to the west,” I order, and he looks at me in confusion. “When we send more soldiers there, they will think we took them from another point, so reinforce the next closest one.”

I watch as he nods in agreement. “Good plan. I will get it sorted. The soldiers can easily hold off the rogues until after the wedding. Then, I will go.” He finishes setting up the maps.

“I’ll be joining,” I say, and he looks at me in shock.

“You shouldn’t come, Your Majesty.” The Earl looks at me like I’m a fool.

“Why?” I ask, waiting.

“You’re needed here to protect the palace and the family,” he says, and I nod.

“We have enough guards to do that. Colton will also be here. I’m coming,” I say, my voice firm, showing him he can’t argue with me.

“Of course, your Majesty.” He nods, not arguing with me.

“I will also be coming.” I hear my father.

“Of course. It will only help to have more of us there.” The Earl says.

“Might I suggest both families are here tomorrow when we go?” Father looks at me.

“Here?” Is he joking?

“Yes, here. We’re all going to the rogues, and it would be easier to protect both families if they were in one place. After the wedding, everyone comes here.” He insists, and I nod. I know it’s a good idea, but I’m not sure I’m comfortable having Harlyn and Diandra around each other.

“That is fine. I am sure you can make it happen?” I look at the Earl. “Your luna, the Countess, will also come,” I state, and he nods.

“Of course, Your Majesty, I will ensure that all my guards and Luna are here.” He says, and I wait, but he doesn’t mention Harlyn.

“And Harlyn.” I probe, and I watch the reluctant nod of agreement from him.

“Yes, and Harlyn,” he says through clenched teeth. Was he really going to leave her unprotected alone without any guards when we left? I shake the thoughts from my mind.

“I will see you tomorrow at the wedding.” He bows slightly and walks away.

“Have you spoken to Harlyn?” I turn to my father, looking at him confused. Why would he ask that? “From what Samuel said, she is engaged to marry an Alpha?” He looks at me curiously.

“Apparently so, I briefly spoke with her.” I nod, and my mind goes back to that night.

“You’re doing it again.” My head snaps up at his words. “Your eyes betray you, so talk, ask away and let’s solve your worries.” He sits and waits.

“You asked me to go in your place because of the attacks at the wall. Jacub said you sent me as you were warned someone would drug you.” I look at him, waiting; I know we have gone through this repeatedly, but I hope something he says makes sense.

“Which I said was a lie; the soldiers were with me and confirmed I was at the wall fighting off the rogues.” He sighs and looks at me in disappointment. “What are you wanting?”

What do I want? I consider it: “I want your theory. Why would Jacub lie about why you sent me, why was I drugged, and why did he lie about speaking to you?” He will have theories, and I need them.

“My theory? He wanted you in that room with someone for a reason. I assumed there would be a video or something, but nothing emerged. He drugged you, and I don’t know why because, as I said, eight years later, nothing has emerged.” His words don’t help, not at all.

“Why tell me that you were warned of being drugged and a woman then?” That part makes no sense.

“Because had he not, what would you have done?” His words have me pause.

“I would have sought you out or spoken to the Earl. Which means his plan would have failed. He mentioned you, which meant I didn’t speak to you or the Earl.” He told me not to go off with a woman, so did he already have a plan for who I would be in the room with?

If it was Harlyn, why? In the hopes that I would get caught with her and cause issues between the King and Earl? No, because he was the one who said I needed to leave, so he didn’t want the Earl to find us together.

So what was the plan? If it was Harlyn, what did he gain from it? Nothing, as nothing happened. If it wasn’t Harlyn, I’m even more lost as to why he would do it.

At first, I directed all my anger at my Father. He took all the abuse and stood dumbfounded. The soldiers quickly backed him, as he had not even been close to the palace at the time.

When my rage finally died, he told me it was all lies. He told me I was to get Jacub in front of him to answer for his actions. I had to admit I left him in the wasteland after my rage got the better of me.

“Nothing has happened; you need to let it go.” His words are quiet, and I know he is correct, but I feel like there was a plan, and without Jacub, I won’t have answers until his plan finally hits.
