Poseidon (Contemporary Mythos Book 5)

Poseidon: Chapter 15

I’d ported back to my apartment from Meg’s living room, hearing Meg gasp as I disappeared. Poseidon lay on the couch, precisely where he said he’d be waiting on me.

He stood with a grin, tossing the photography magazine he’d been flipping through to the coffee table. “How’d it go?”

“Better than I expected.” I interlaced my fingers behind my back, grinning and swiveling my hips.

He stood in front of me, gazing down at me with hooded lids. “And you still want to go through with this?”

“There isn’t a doubt in my mind, Seid.” I leaped into his arms and kissed him.

He coaxed my legs around him, wrapping one arm under my butt while the other kneaded the back of my head. With every caress of our lips, every lap of our tongues, the familiarity settled into our veins—our bones.

Pulling away from him with a whimper, I said, “I lied. I have one more request.”

“What do you need?” He adjusted me in his arms, causing my pelvis to rub against his stomach.

I bit my lip, moaning. “Be with me like this—before I’m a goddess. I want to feel your magic before I have my own again.”

With an accepting snarl, he crashed his mouth against mine, diving us into a carnal exchange of kissing, nipping, groaning.

“No other woman could’ve ever lived up to you, Cordelia. I was ready to spend eternity alone.” He tapped his forehead with mine, moving us into my bedroom.

“Shh,” I whispered against his lips. “I’m here, Seid. I’m right here.”

He searched my face, memorizing every freckle, every groove before kissing me again and pushing us to the bed. Instead of landing on a mattress, he ported us to an underwater grotto, keeping us dry within a created air bubble filling the space. I broke away from his lips long enough to grin at our atmosphere. Water walls surrounded us, giving a prime view of the aquatic life swimming around it—fish of all shapes and colors, sea turtles, and dolphins. It was as if they came to pay their respects to our reunion.

“Shouldn’t we be worried about Skylla here?” I lay beneath him, gleaming up at his emerald gaze.

“She won’t be able to sense us through my protection spell. And I’d pity anyone foolish enough who tried to interrupt what’s about to happen.” He dragged a hand through his hair, parting it from his face with a smolder capable of boiling the water around us.

“What’s about to happen?” A sultry grin melted over my lips.

He rolled his hips, pressing himself against me, making me gasp. “I’m going to remind you how the Seven Seas themselves couldn’t compare to how wet you always got around me.”

His words alone had me soaked, and I pinched his sides with my knees. “Remind me, Seid.”

With a devious curl of his lip, he pulled spirals of water from the ocean, disguising us, and circled them over my body. Every pass over my clothes made them disappear, each brush of the silky moist tendrils making me writhe beneath him. His arm turned into water, joining the spirals as they tantalized my skin in tandem. He skirted his hands up my inner thighs, yanking my knees apart to display myself for him.

His tongue lapped at the corner of his mouth as he gazed down at me, and with one flick of his head, water splashed, and he was fully naked. I sat up, reaching for him, ready to greedily roam my hands over every toned piece of him, but he snatched my wrists.

As he coaxed me to lay back, his length brushed my folds. He leaned over me, grinning like a tiger shark. “Not yet, Cory. I’ve got so much reminding to do first.” His brow bobbed.

Hearing my new name on his lips with him between my legs was almost enough to send me over the edge right then and there.

His beard tickled my skin as he kissed my neck, traveling to my breasts, sucking on each nipple before trailing his tongue the length of my stomach, stopping right above my clit. Grinning against my hip bone, he gave my folds one slow, torturous lap of his tongue. My back arched from the sea bed, fingers tangling in his hair, holding him captive. He used the tip of his tongue to flick, switching to nibbling, sucking, lapping, and all forms in between. He pressed a firm hand on my stomach, keeping me still as I squirmed with pleasure.

He paused, hovering over me, evidence of my appreciation for his efforts laced in his beard. I propped on my elbows, panting, gazing back at him. The first time we slept together, I’d been a virgin sea nymph—nervous, afraid, apprehensive. I hadn’t expected him to take the care he had, the patience. And the sex became a wildfire even fathoms below the surface through time.

Keeping our eyes locked, he lowered his lips between my legs, covering me with his mouth. His cheeks filled with warm water, rolling against my folds in partnership with his swirling tongue. I gripped the cushioned floor beneath me, my nails digging into the spongey surface. An earth-shattering cry poured from my lungs as I climaxed, shaking, bucking, and writhing.

Poseidon had no plans to let me come up for air, splashed water over his chin, crawled over me, and thrust. I gasped, throwing open my eyes and wrapping my arms around his neck.

Poseidon peered down, rocking in and out of me. He kissed the tip of my nose, my cheek, my lips. “Gods, I’ve missed you. I’ve fucking missed you.”

Digging my fingers into his strong shoulders, I lifted my hips, making him go deeper. “I’ve missed you too, Poseidon.”

A satisfied masculine grin played over his lips and a sparkling water surge coiled through my hair, surrounding us like a halo. As a soft satiated moan escaped my throat, I reached behind me, plunging my hand through the water wall and letting the outside salty ocean wet my fingertips. One of his hands curled under my ass as he pounded harder into me.

Sitting up, grinding myself against him, I pressed my lips to his ear. “I thálassa eínai to spíti mou allá esý eísai to katafýgió mou.” After sucking on his ear lobe, I leaned back, peering at him with ravenous eyes.

The sea is my home, but you’re my sanctuary.

He’d been out of my life for far too long, and now with a new taste for him—the hunger may never be satisfied.

His eyes twinkled, his hand cupping the side of my face, before he pushed off the seafloor, launching us skyward. We plunged through the top wall, circling into open water, sending fish darting in all directions. Bubbles ebbed and swirled, floating through our hair in sinewy wisps. In the water, it was akin to being near weightless. Holding onto his shoulders for leverage, I moved up and down over him, the chilled ocean water flowing over my nipples plummeting me into euphoria.

My scales appeared—vibrant and shimmering. Poseidon smiled against my lips before opening his mouth and curling his tongue with mine. He grabbed my hips, halting me, and I opened my eyes, blinking, a flash of the golden crown on his head sparking in my brain.

“Kósmima tis thálassas,” Poseidon said, his strong hands guiding my hips up and down his length, those jade eyes holding our entire past and future gleaming within them.

Jewel of the Sea.

As Poseidon held me close, angelfish swam circles around us, swirling our bodies in a descending typhoon. Our feet emerged through the water wall, back to the dryness and protection of the grotto. Water bubbled under my feet, floating us down to the sea bed, our hair soaked and wavy, sticking to our foreheads—our chests.

“I chose you that day when I saw you dancing on the bank, not only because I thought you were the most beautiful creature I’d ever seen, but—” He pulled out of me, pressing his hand to my chest and backing me to the nearest water wall. “I chose you because I could see my life with you with every sway of your hips. Saw our bond with every swirl of your arms. And envisioned our children in every breath you took.”

This was what I’d always wanted. This. Right. Here.

“Oh, Seid,” I sighed out.

He lifted one of my legs, curling it over his hip, pressing my back against the liquid wall. He made the wall solid but alive, the ocean tickling against my skin as I rested against it. He pushed into me inch by inch, slow and delicious. “I love you. I’ve always loved you.” Before I could say it back, he covered my mouth with his and filled me to the hilt.

At that moment, he didn’t need to hear me say it back but knew I wanted to hear it more than anything. Words scarcely exchanged between us so long ago.

He pressed a hand above my head and made the water supporting us glow and pulse with each bonding thrust. The sweet ache pooled between my hips, building and building until it reached its peak. After several more thrusts, Poseidon reached his own euphoria, spilling inside me and growling into my nape.

I nuzzled my nose against his cheek. “I don’t want to leave this place. Not yet. I haven’t felt this comfortable in my surroundings in such a long time.”

“We can stay here as long as you want,” he said, the satisfaction in his tone making his voice extra raspy.

I ran my big toe up his lower back before pulling him tight against me. “You most certainly haven’t lost your touch, sea god.” I grinned and walked my fingers up his abs.

A deep chuckle rumbled from his chest. “Crisis averted.” He slowly pulled out of me, standing and moving to the center of the grotto. “Come here.”

I bit my thumbnail as I sauntered to him.

His arms turned into water as he waved them at the floor, turning it even spongier than before. He lay on his side and opened his arms wide and inviting. I lay down with my back to him, all but cooing once he wrapped his arms around me.

“Can you still do the water horse trick?” I nestled my ass against him, grinning to myself at the hardness still there.

“You insatiable nymph.” He playfully nipped my earlobe, shoving himself harder against me. Without answering me, he lifted his hand, making it form the clear liquid. Gradually it took shape, morphing into a horse and galloping around the grotto. Its water mane left a sparkling trail in its wake.

I laughed, kissing his shoulder as he obliged me with the water show.

“Olympus, that laugh.” He kissed my cheek, dropping his hand, the horse fading away in a wave of bubbles.

“Do you remember that shimmering negligee I conjured on special occasions?” A wicked grin fluttered over my lips.

His cock bounced against me. “You’re kidding, right? How in Tartarus could I forget that?”

“I hope I can remember how to do it. I hope I can remember how to do any of it.” I frowned, curling his arm around me again. Playing with his fingers, I pushed our hands together, noting how small mine was by comparison.

“It’s like riding a chariot, Cor. Once you have the power again, it will come back to you.”

“What if he doesn’t accept me?” I traced the grooves in his palm, scraping my nail against the calluses.

“Who? Zeus? I’ll make him if he doesn’t.” His arm tightened, and I trailed my finger over the scattering of blonde hair on his tanned arm, calming him.

“You know that’s not how it works. We have to prepare ourselves for the worst-case scenario.”

“No. I won’t let him fuck us over a second time.” He rested his chin on my shoulder. “You’ve changed. He can be a prick, but he is a smart man. He’ll see it.”

“So, what other sea monsters have returned since I’ve been gone? Please tell me the Kraken is still dormant.”

Silence.

“Seid?”

Bubbled water collected at his fingertips, and he massaged one of my breasts, making my stomach tingle and flip.

“Hm?” He lazily asked as if not hearing my question.

I moaned as his silk water touch traveled to my stomach. “Are you distracting me to avoid my question?”

“Because you absolutely hate it, huh?” He slipped a finger inside me, stirring the bubbles.

I arched against him, groaning.

“All the more reason for you to become Queen again, Cordelia.” He slid another finger in me, warming the water, sending a surge straight to my toes. “We can fight them together and send them all back to their holes.”

I cried out, reaching for the back of his head to hold onto something.

“Restore Atlantis to its prior glory.” He flicked the water with the tip of his finger, grinding against my spot.

Moaning his name, I grabbed his hair, pulling him to me for a kiss.

After briefly kissing me he said, “And put fear into anyone or anything who tries to fuck with our home.”

Yes. Yes. All of it. Yes.

After one final flick, I came undone, quivering in his arms, kissing him again. I pushed his shoulder, forcing him to his back, and straddled him.

He grinned, letting me hold him down.

“Promise me one thing. We will always be equal rulers. Where you go, I go. The seas are ours.”

He grabbed my hips and narrowed his eyes. “I promise on Rhea’s life what happened before will not repeat itself. You’ll be my Queen. I’ll be your King. Our thrones touching side-by-side.”

A grin tugged at my mouth, wide and brimming with life. I kissed him with the soul of the sea coursing through my veins.

“Now, let me remind you of a skill of mine I remembered you never complaining about.” My scales shimmered.

A wicked smile slid over his lips, and we made love throughout the night, re-introducing ourselves and bonding, surrounded by what we swore to protect, to control, and improve—the mysterious depths of the sea.
