Picking the Wallflower

Chapter 19

Blog Post

27 November

This is the end, my only friend, the end

This blog has been popular amongst you all for a very long time. We’ve entertained, laughed, and generally had a good time. You haven’t harmed me; I’ve poked fun at you. But now, my readers, this has come to an end.

Attached to this blog is a video. A video featuring one of us having ice cold water poured down them. You can hear the laughing, jeering, and general victimisation of the girl in the video. We all laughed, right? It’s just harmless fun, designed to make people laugh. I’m sure she didn’t mind being the butt of the joke for a bit. Right?

Wrong. Because that water was cold. What you didn’t know was that the water had sugar in it. A lot of sugar. It was also green. And it ruined pretty much everything that girl had been wearing. It may never come fully clean. And getting sugar out of your hair takes time. Hair that may never be a normal colour again.

As a result, this girl has decided to walk away forever from your establishment. She’s gone. Never to return.

This does pose a problem for you people, however, since now this blog is going to have to come to an end. This post, the video, and any comments, will be up for twenty-four hours, and then the entire web page will be gone. Forever.

We hope you’re happy.

Lots of love to you all,

Cassandra Oliver, A.K.A EmStar977

I hit send, and the relief washed through me. My next task was to contact the school, and tell them I was dropping out. Legally, I was old enough to do so. Downstairs was quiet as I picked up the phone to place the call. It was short. But the person I spoke to didn’t object to what I said. If anything, she was sympathetic to my situation, promising to send through any paperwork I needed, as well as my belongings I had left behind. Those were the last things on my mind, to be honest.

All I wanted was for the day to end. The email notifications started about ten minutes after I had posted my last blog post. Most of it was shock, whether at what I had said, or what had happened to me. The rest were nasty, mean-spirited, and rude. I tried not to let that get to me. I had lasted as long as I had through stubbornness, but it was time to walk away.

MJ wasn’t among those commenting on my post, which was a blessing. I would not have wanted to face him now that he knew the truth.

The rest of the day was spent around the house, doing little. I celebrated my birthday with myself, ordering a pizza and enjoying it in bed. But I was alone. I may have preferred it that way.
