Chapter 34
-Terui’s POV-
“Tsk.” The scientist clicked his tongue as the needle dropped onto the ground. I growled out threateningly and snapped Alice’s hand when she got close to draw my blood. Alice let out a blood curling scream. Her arm was twisted at a horrendous angle, white sticking out of her skin where her bone prods out. The scientist snapped his finger, tossing me backward with an invisible force. He placed a hand onto Alice and a crimson red glow shined. Her body jerked as the red glow snapped her bone and arm back into position. Alice shrieked in pain before collapsing onto the floor, unconscious.
“Terui, how many times must I tell you to behave?” The scientist questioned with a sigh.
“As if I would listen to what a demon has to say.” I spat.
“Well, then, I don’t really have much of a choice.” He snapped his finger again and the door opened, revealing a tall man, about 190cm tall and built like a bodybuilder. A skull tattoo was etched on his left shoulder with the date ‘19 Feb 2002’. Judging his looks, he was in his fifties. I sniffed the air, he smelled human. A human being that fit, was pretty amazing in itself. The scientist simply smirked and left the room.
A chance! I thought to myself. I picked myself up and readied my claws.
“Stay!” The man commanded. An invisible weight crashed on me, and I collapsed on the ground heavily.
Gravity magic? This guy’s a wizard! I had severely underestimated him. I growled loudly and struggled against the magic that was holding me in my place.
“I said, STAY!” The wizard bellowed and I was forced down by an even stronger force. I coughed out blood as the weight from above was crushing me against the ground. I grit my teeth in pain but I was helpless under his magic. He cast a healing spell and caressed Alice’s face lovingly. It was painfully obvious to see that he was her mate. And he is not happy.
He muttered a body strengthening spell and grabbed me by my hair, lifting me up like a ragdoll. I winced in pain at the mistreatment and growled dangerously. The wizard didn’t flinch, instead, he bashed my head against the floor. I gasp in pain, vision blacking out before slowly recovering. The door opened again and there were muffled noises as I tried to regain my bearings.
The wizard heaved me and slammed my back onto something cold and metallic. The rattling of chains alerted me as my arms were forcefully pulled back into a T shape. I screamed as the silver wrapped hard onto my skin, the burning feeling making me writhe in pain. My vision returned and I could see the wizard wrapping the chains on my feet now.
With only one leg that was untied, I swung it as hard as I can, aiming for the head. A sickening crack resounded throughout the room, and I howled in wrecked pain. The bone in my leg cracked the moment it met his fortified head. Although the wizard seemed to have taken some damage from the impact, he just shook it off and grabbed my feet angrily.
I struggled against his strong grip, tears unwillingly falling from my eyes as I finally knew my fate. With a quick squeeze, he instantly shattered the bones, eliciting an agonized scream from me. My voice grew hoarse from screaming but it didn’t matter to him. He roughly chained my remaining limb onto the metal cross.
Forcefully, he stuck a needle into my vein and connected it to a machine. I whined softly in pain, exhausted. Red instantly filled the tube and flowed into a bag on the side of the machine. I coughed weakly as my body felt more and more lethargic. I hung weakly from the cross, watching my blood getting taken from me. Once the bag was filled, the machine stopped, allowing me a moment to breathe. The wizard collected the blood bag and carried Alice out of the room.
I was alone in an almost entirely white room, with only the faint whirring of the machine. My wolf scratched at my mind space. I was too tired and too drained to block him out like I usually do. He clawed about in my mind, seemingly to find something.
He yipped in glee when he finally found it and started digging, pushing. All the actions were causing me a headache and I growled exhaustedly, trying to get it to stop. What was this stupid wolf doing?
My wolf ignored me and continued pressing on until a voice resounded in my head. It was soft and faint. Had I not been in a room with nothing around me, I would have never heard it. The sound of Nathan. I growled angrily and pulled against the silver chain, making me howl in pain.
I collapsed painfully, helplessly hanging onto the cross I’m chained to. This mutt was trying to open a connection to Nathan again.
Stop! I commanded mentally. But the wolf didn’t stop. He kept on digging deeper and deeper into my psyche, forcing even a slight connection with Nathan.
I said stop you idiot! I don’t need his help!
Stop! Please! I begged but my wolf ignored me, just like how I have ignored him like always. I tried to force him out of my mind but this time, my wolf was stronger than me. Exhausted by the silver chain and my battered body, I had no way to stop my wolf from taking over. A soft click sounded in my head and my wolf gave a long deep howl. A cry for help.
It was over. Humiliation. That’s all I felt. I had done this to myself. How arrogant was I to think I was the strongest? In just a week, I have been beaten down more times than I can count. Here I am, kidnapped, chained, tortured. My wolf betrayed me and called for help.
What am I doing?
At this point, I should just die.
“Then do you want to make a contract with me? I can give you strength, power. I can give you what you need.” A dark voice resounded in my headspace.
“Who’s that?” I asked coarsely. My wolf was instantly on high alert. He let out a dangerous growl as if warning me.
“Oh, you don’t need to know who I am. All you need to know is that I can give you what you want. What do you say?” He chuckled.
“A devil,” I concluded.
“Well, I suppose you can call me that. But does it matter? Join me, I will give you strength!”
"What do you need?"
