chapter 31
Alison sat with Josh and Elizabeth in a cafe, drinking coffee and eating cakes and cookies. Josh's arm and shoulders were bandaged from the attacks earlier, which had been declared a dog attack and Elizabeth had an attractive tiny bald spot on the right side of her head.
"That was amazing, Alison," Josh spoke excitedly. "how you killed that thing in one second. How'd you know the other ones would die with it? I thought we were surrounded and done for to be perfectly honest. Seriously, I did."
"Well, truthfully, I heard a voice in my head. It was Emily's voice, Josh. I swear. She spoke to me and gave me strength and told me what to do."
"Emily? Really?"
"Yes, really. That was how I knew what to do. Emily's ghost communicated with me."
"That's amazing, Alison," Elizabeth spoke. "Do you think it was really her?
"Somehow, deep in my heart, I can tell. I'm positive it was her. She saved us."
"She would do that, you know," Josh agreed.
Alison nodded, glancing out the window of the coffee shop and catching sight of Greg floating around outside, nursing his wounded left side of his body. He turned to look at her, mouthing "hurry up in there. I'm getting bored."
And Alison waved to him.
"Who are you waving to?" Josh asked, cocking a brow.
"Oh no one," Alison smiled. "Just saw a ghost is all."
