Athena's POV

Next Day

It's about 8 o'clock in the morning when I finally begin to stir, the events leading up to last night slowly returning to me as tears begin to rise, attempting to hold them at bay, the presence of having both of my mates nearby comforting. I can't cry now... I have to stay strong, for them, for my children but most of all my family. They need me and because of that I can't afford to be weak, I reply to myself, trying to get myself mentally prepared for what is about to happen. Sighing, I move to take deep even breaths before attempting to wiggle myself free of my mates only for them to hold me closer, a voice ringing in my ear as they did.

"And where do you think you're going little mate?" purrs the voice of Eros, his voice along with Ares always sexy in the morning. A soft inaudible moan rising as he did. Fuck, why did their voices always have to be so sexy when waking up. Then as if realizing what I needed to do I move to whisper back, "I need to use the bathroom" I say, hoping he would let me leave because of that, and he does, unwrapping is arms form around my waist as does Ares, having been semi-awake when I spoke. Taking that as my chance to escape I quickly dash for the bathroom, the need to pee urgent as I go to relieve my bladder. Once finished I move to wash my hands before looking at myself within the mirror of the bathroom, my looking to that of my reflection. 2

Man, I look like shit, I muse, noticing my red, puffy eyes from my apparent crying that I had done during my phone call with Lily.

Biting my lip, I moved to remember every single word she had said to me, words I feared for I wasn't ready to die yet, and a part of me was trying to get myself to believe that I wouldn't, that my mates would help me find Lily and end this once and for all. 'No one's dying on my watch sweetheart, not if I can help it' purrs Artemis, hoping to help comfort me.

'Please, don't make promises that we can't keep, for theirs no guarantee that we'll live to see another day once Lily gets ahold of us' I move to say to her, knowing it was true.

'Stop it, by thinking in that tone of voice, you all but let Lily win' snaps Artemis, not wanting to accept our fate so soon.

'But you know it's true' I whisper back.

'So, doesn't mean it has to be though, only we have the power to change our fate, not some whore who's slept with the whole entire pack of Mystic Shadow. Not even the Moon Walker Pack can decide our fate, only us' remarks Artemis.

Taking her words into account, I know she's right, she's always been right, but being the ever stubborn person that I was I could never bring myself to tell her that, not wanting to add to her already big ego that kept growing every time she was right about something, 'You know I'm right' purrs Artemis.

'So... Doesn't mean I have to admit that to you' I murmur, not ready to admit defeat until there's a knock on the bathroom door.

"Yes?" I call out my eyes moving from the mirror to the door.

"Everything okay there? You've been in there for 45 minutes already, breakfast is just about ready, you hungry love?" calls Eros, my eyes now blinking at not realizing I had already been in there for that long already without realizing it.

"Ops, sorry, I was talking to Artemis. But yes, I'll be out in a second love, let me just freshen up and then I'll be down to join you for breakfast" I move to say to him, not wanting to go downstairs looking like a hot mess.

Chapter 118

Chucking by my words does Erds move to let me freshen up.

"Okay but don't take too long, otherwise Ares and I are going to eat up all the bacon" teases Eros with a chuckle before moving to head downstairs.

me crave more.

When catching the word bacon do I move to quickly do what I needed to, not wanting my mates to eat up all the delicious bacon for what could I say, it tasted delicious, especially the maple brown sugar kind, always giving it that sweet yummy texture to it that always mada 'Better hurry up then' laughs Artemis.

'I am, I am I laugh back, now rushing back into the room for a quick change before dashing for the downstairs where I could instantly smell the yummy food that was being cooked, Ares and Eros always doing fabulous work when it came down to making breakfast or any sort of food for that matter.

'Maybe it's a hidden talent of theirs' whispers Artemis playfully.

'Ya right, if that's talent then we must have magical abilities' I chuckle, Artemis pausing by my words making me pause too.

'Artemis?' I call out to her.

... Yes?' answers Artemis almost hesitantly.

'Do we?'

'Do we what?'

'Don't play games, do we or do we not have magical abilities?' I snap, wanting my wolf to be completely honest with me. 'Maybe....' was all she said to me.

'Maybe? When were you planning to tell me all that?' I ask, now hurt that she couldn't trust me even with that.

Please don't be mad, I was going to tell you, but only once I knew more myself, Mother Moon has been super secretive with me and about our kind that I didn't want to lead you astray if we didn't' admits Artemis truthfully, knowing she would have told me if she for sure knew that we did. Just then, before I can reply back, the phone rings again, another wave of panic rising as I hope and pray that it's not Lily again as I carefully move to reach for the phone, both of my mates still in the kitchen as I did. "Hello?" I say, my voice timid.

"Athena? Hey it's me, Elise, just wanted to see if you would like to hangout with Cara and I? We were thinking of a little shopping trip" replies Elise over the other end of her line.

Taking a moment to consider her words, I slowly feel a smile begin to rise upon my lips the thought of seeing both of them sounding really good right about now before moving to answer her question. "Sure, but when?" "How about tomorrow? We could either meet up at your pack or mine or even Cara's but considering Cara's pack is a bit cold, I suggest either yours or mine, then we can go to the Capital and shop" giggles Elise.

"Sure, sounds like fun, I'll see you both tomorrow' and with that, we move to hang up once we finalize the rest of our plans, the smile still fully planted on my face until suddenly my mates move to join me, plates of food in tow as they move to set down, the plates on the table. "Who was that love?" asks Ares with a curious expression.

Oh that? That was Elise, she was just calling to ask if I could hang out with her and Cara tomorrow and I told her yes" I admit softly, hoping they would let me.

*This wonderful love, I'm happy for you, just be sure to fake either Lucas, Emma or Emily with you for protection alright" replies Eros, happy that their mate was finally making friends. "Okay I will*

And then with that said we move to sit down for breakfast.
