Chapter 58
Chapter 58
Stella agreed wholeheartedly.
The bone fracture she caused was a fresh wound on top of old grudges. There was no way he would let her off easily. Therefore, she stood quietly to the side.
The other two noticed her arrival.
Jessica said, “Stella, I’ll leave Brian to you after we leave.” Then she added, “Oh, by the way, let’s add each other as contacts on Whatsapp. That way, if anything happens to Brian, we can communicate through
Whatsapp”
Stella had no choice but to add her contact on Whatsapp. The hurt she inflicted demanded she take
responsibility.
Not long after, Joseph sent over the ointment.
Finally, they could go home.
As she stepped into Brian’s car, Stella let out a sigh of relief.
She really didn’t like dealing with Jessica. Every word she uttered felt meticulously calculated, and it was very suffocating to be around her.
Upon arriving home, Brian was helped upstairs to the master bedroom.
Stella grabbed a pillow and placed it under his injured leg. Gently turning to him, she asked, ‘Is there anything else I can do for you?”
Brian stared at her silently, then suddenly said, “I was injured because of you, so I’ll need you to take care of me for the next few days.”
“I know.” She lowered her eyes, and her submissive demeanor improved his mood. “Just tell me what you need, and I’ll do whatever I can to help.”
“I’m hungry now,” Brian said.
Stella nodded and turned to go downstairs to ask Yvonne, “Yvonne, is dinner ready yet?”
“It’ll be ready soon,” Yvonne replied as she placed the dishes on plates.
“Yvonne, please make the meals lighter for the next few days,” Stella instructed. “Brian has a leg injury and needs to eat healthy food.”
“Alright,” Yvonne replied.
Stella went to get bowls and ladled a bowl of soup for Brian, She carried the soup and a few dishes
upstairs
Brian sat on the bed with his brow furrowed.
Stella walked over and placed the food on the nightstand. “Does your leg hurt?” she asked.
“No,” Bran replied.
“Does it hurt down there?” she mumbled as she lowered her head.
Brian’s eyebrows shot up as he followed her gaze down to his waist. “Who told you that?”
“Dr. Sanders told me.
Bran’s face darkened.
Stella thought he must be embarrassed, so she lowered her voice and said, “Don’t worry, Dr. Sanders only
told me. No one else knows.”
A stunned silence fell over Brian as his face drained of color and turned grim.
Stella spoke softly. “It’s okay. It’s likely just swollen, and it probably won’t cause any problems once it
heals. Don’t worry too much.”
After hearing that, Brian’s face darkened with intense anger.
Stella pulled out a tube of ointment. “This is the medicine Dr. Sanders prescribed. Apply it three times a day. In the morning, noon, and night,” she explained.
Brian finally couldn’t hold it in any longer. He glared at her viciously. “Are you doing this intentionally? You can see I’m injured, yet you’re deliberately saying these things to make me feel uncomfortable.”
“No, really, it was Dr. Sander’s orders. I was just trying to comfort you because I was afraid you’d be
worried.”
“Is that so?” Brian scoffed, clearly not buying a word of it. He tossed the ointment at her. “Well, if you’re so concerned about me, why don’t you apply it for me?”
Stella was stunned. “You want me to apply it for you?”
“Yes, you’re the one who ran into me after all. If it weren’t for that helmet of yours, I wouldn’t be this badly. injured.”
Stella felt embarrassed. “It wasn’t intentional. I just slipped, and I couldn’t control my speed either.”
“That helmet was heavy,” Brian grunted.
“I’m sorry,” she apologized softly, her face flushing red,
Just days ago, a similar scene on a short video platform had her laughing out loud. It was hilarious then..
As the one caught in the situation, there was no humor to be found.
