Chapter 196
Chapter 196
Brian finally left, his face gloomy
The storm made the news the next day, but it didn’t land in Sendoville. Instead, it brushed past and hit
other coastal cities.
However, many trees on the streets were still destroyed. Countless large trees were uprooted and fell on
the roads.
Brian sat in the car, listening to the news about the incident in the mountains behind Tarovian Terrace
It was reported that a man and a woman were trapped under a fallen tree. The man was hit in the back by
a tree trunk, and the woman had dragged him out with great difficulty.
The ever–observant Mike immediately remarked, “Mr. Foley, that sounds like Mrs. Foley
Brian’s face darkened. “Has she returned to Tarovian Terrace yet?”
Mike replied, “It seems she’s still at the hospital taking care of Mr. Perkins. Upon hearing this, Briens
expression grew even colder.
Mike suggested. “Mr. Foley, should we send someone to bring Mrs. Foley home?”
“No need,” Brian rejected the idea. But his mood plummeted as he reviewed documents with a stony
expression. Mike didn’t dare say another word.
In the evening, after visiting Sharon, Brian returned to Tarovian Terrace. Yvonne was in the kitchen talking
to someone.
Brian thought it was that woman who had returned. He took off his jacket and entered with a serious
face, but there was no sign of her.
Yvonne was on the phone, asking Stella if the oatmeal for that evening should be sweet or savory.
After a moment of silence, Stella said, “Yvonne, I’m not coming back tonight. You don’t need to prepare
my portion.”
She didn’t want to face Brian right now.
Mrs. Foley, why aren’t you coming back?” Yvonne asked
Stella remained silent, unsure of what to say. At that moment, Yvonne noticed Brian had returned. She
turned and saw his cold expression, giving her a start. “Mr. Foley!”
On the other end of the line, Stella also heard Brian’s voice. She pressed her lips together and said, “It’s
nothing, Yvonne. I’m going to hang up now.”
“Alright,” Yvonne said, still shaken as she hung up and turned to Brian. “Mr. Foley, you startled me
appearing out of nowhere like that!”
Brian’s expression was indifferent as he glanced at herphone. “Did she say when she’ll be back?”
Yvonne looked puzzled. “She? You mean Mrs. Foley?”
Who else could it be? Brian gave a curt nod
Yvonne said, “Mrs. Foley said she won’t be back tonight.”
Not coming back? Was she staying at the hospital to take care of him all night again?
Brian’s face froze over as he took out his phone to call Stella again, but it didn’t go through. How unbelievable! This woman was now refusing to take his calls!
Brian tugged at his tie, and he frowned in imitation.
Yvonne noticed his unsettled expression and thought something was wrong. She gently suggested, “Mr. Foley, why dont you go and bring Mrs. Foley back?
“Why should I go get her? Brian’s tone was harsh.
She went to take care of another man, and he had to go fetch her. What did that make him? A cuckold happily retrieving his wife?
Yvonne said. “Mr. Foley, Mrs. Foley is young. It’s normal for her to throw a bit of a tantrum, You should be more understanding toward her.”
“Are you saying I’m old?” Brian frowned.
Yvonne was startled and said nervously. “No, of course not. In a marriage, one party has to be the first to
back down in an argument.!
Brian ignored her and headed upstairs.
After his shower, he remained restless. Whenever he closed his eyes, he imagined Stella with Yoel in bed. The thought made him agitated. He kicked off the covers and got out of bed.
