Chapter 167
Chapter 167
Stella gave Brian a kick to vent her anger. Brian opened his dull eyes. With a flinch, Stella rolled over,
pretending to sleep.
“You’re awake?” Brian asked. Stella ignored him. Looking helpless, Brian got out of bed and put on his
robe
He glanced at Stella, warning sternly, “I don’t care whether you’re sleeping or not. From now on, you’re forbidden to mess with Bernard. If you are dating him, break up. I won’t let you two off if I find out you are
in contact.”
Stella quivered in fear. Brian added, ‘About Alice, don’t go to Bernard, I’ll investigate it for you.”
Stella pursed her lips, not responding. Fixing his eyes on her, Brian snapped, “Do you hear me?”
Stella winced, her eyelashes fluttering. She turned to glare at him in irritation, “Why are you so loud? It’s
not like I cannot hear you,”
“You’d better listen to me. If you turn a deaf ear again, I’ll teach you a lesson.”
“Stop threatening me!” Stella snorted.
Under Brian’s glare, Stella shrank. She had always been afraid of Brian.
As a man of his word, he wasn’t just saying it. If he told her he was going to teach her a lesson, he would.
She felt absolutely dreadful.
After Brian left the room, Stella kicked off the quilt. She entered the bathroom for a shower, only to find
her body clean and refreshed.
Had he washed her last night? After a moment’s hesitation, she decided not to dwell on it. Then, she
turned around and headed downstairs.
Yvonne was carrying a lunchbox in her hand and was surprised to see Stella. “Mrs. Foley, you’re back? I was just about to deliver meals to you.”
“Deliver meals? Stella looked puzzled.
Yvonne nodded. “Yeah, Mr. Foley told me to deliver meals to you daily.”
“Huh?” Stella suddenly thought of something, asking. The lunchbox the other night…”
“Mr. Foley asked me to prepare it. He doesn’t want you to eat outside food since you’re ill, lest your
stomach is upset.”
Yvonne reminded Stella quietly. The night before last, Mr. Foley delivered the lunchbox to you right after I prepared it. He actually cares about you even though he doesn’t express it.”
Astonished, Stella had mixed feelings. So that lunchbox wasn’t Yvonne’s idea but Brian’s?
Yvonne continued, “Mike said Mr. Foley slept in the car outside your apartment building all night. It must
T
have been freezing cold. Tsk tsk…”
Stella’s emotion was even more complex when she heard this. Why was Brian so peculiar?
If he really cared about her, why did he have to be with Jessica? He clearly knew the child was not his!
What exactly did he like about Jessica?
Brian left for the hospital for his daily visit to Sharon,
Upon seeing Brian, Joseph quickly told him, “I went for a drink with Bernie last night. He said he wasn’t dating Stella. The bunch of punks in the private room were just teasing him.”
Brian was slightly stunned. Had he wronged Stella? Spotting a bite mark on Brian’s neck, Joseph raised
his eyebrows.
“Did you bully her last night?” Brian said nothing and straightened his collar, somehow recalling last
