Chapter My Toyboy 188
Chapter 188
The live chat was buzzing.
[What's going on? Why did both horses suddenly go crazy? What's up with the show crew, letting the guests be put in such danger?]
[See the difference? Love and not caring are worlds apart. The only coach and Mr. Bennett both went after Nina, not caring at all about Cynthia's safety.]
[I'm literally crying. Preston went after Cynthia without a second thought.]
After Ethan and Jessie realized what was happening, they also rode out to follow. Unfortunately, they weren't great riders, so they were slow and had no idea which direction to go once they entered the forest. The drone was frantically flying around and ended up crashing straight into a tree trunk. It went out of action.
The live room suddenly went dark. Jason was anxiously pacing in front of the monitor. He didn't know what was going on or how the two horses suddenly went crazy. He quickly sent a rescue team to the island. Meanwhile, only Abby was calmly stroking the mane of the horse beside her.
In the forest, a black horse was wildly galloping. Its hooves were thundering as it occasionally leapt, as if trying to throw off the person on its back. At that moment, Cynthia lowered her body, practically pressing herself against the horse's back.
The coach had said that all the horses here were racing horses. If she fell at be unlikely.

Although it was her first time in such a predicament, Cynthia remained calm, finding her rhythm amidst the chaos. She clung tightly to the horse's back, hoping it would stop once it tired out.
After entering the forest, Jonathan ran in the direction of Nina for a while, then quickly turned his horse around and headed up a hill. Along this hill was the direction where Cynthia's horse was running wildly.
He had actually studied the map of the island. He knew there was a high slope in this forest. By following this slope, his view would open up significantly, which was also the fastest way to catch up with Cynthia.
Sure enough, once he reached the high slope, Jonathan first saw a figure. It was Preston catching up. He was taking the same path as Cynthia. However, once inside, the thick trees and shrubs quickly blocked his view, and Cynthia and her horse disappeared from sight. Adding to the confusion, Preston got lost. The dense forest made it impossible to tell direction. He gritted his teeth, chose a direction with his eyes shut, and started chasing again.
Jonathan was stationed high above, watching the area for a glimpse of Cynthia. Sure enough, he spotted her. But Cynthia's horse was racing at a rapid pace. From Jonathan's viewpoint, all he could see was a fleeting shadow.
A wave of panic hit Jonathan's heart. If he remembered correctly, the direction Cynthia's horse was heading led straight to a cliff on the map.
Jonathan urged his horse, rushing wildly in that direction. His heart pounded like never before, his nerves on edge. There was no time to consider whether this was deliberate or an accident. All he could think about was catching up to Cynthia.
But he had studied the map. His mind quickly calculated the distance from Cynthia's last known position to the cliff.
He realized with dread that given their current distance, reaching her in time was nearly impossible. He shuddered at the thought of what might happen if that frantic horse reached the cliff and jumped.

Chapter 188
Just the thought made his heart feel like it was going to jump out of his chest.

Jonathan felt as if the air was being sucked out of his lungs, reminding him of when Whitney had pushed him into the pool at ten years old, leaving him gasping for air. It was an icy closeness to death that stayed with him. Later on, he learned how to dive, mastering the ability to hold his breath underwater for nine minutes. Since then, he had never experienced that suffocating brush with death again.
But now, his whole body was tense and cold. Even with the lush greenery and fresh air around him, he felt like he was being held underwater, unable to breathe.
Jonathan still held on to a glimmer of hope. Maybe at the last moment, Cynthia would jump off the horse to save herself. But he also knew that even doing so could be life-threatening. Fear surged within him like an unending tide, continuously flooding his mind. It was eventually like a dam giving way, overwhelming his will and reason with unstoppable force.
Jonathan finally rushed to the edge of the cliff. His heart was on the verge of despair when he saw Cynthia's silhouette. She was standing there unharmed.
The horse, now calm, was being led by a man in a suit. Nearby, there was a stone table and several wicker chairs. In one of those chairs sat a figure very familiar to him.
The woman was dressed in head-to-toe high fashion, exuding elegance. Even at almost fifty, her skin was tight and wrinkle- free, looking more like someone in her early thirties.
She exuded a composed elegance, holding a small ceramic cup and sipping tea leisurely. When Jonathan approached on horseback, she remained completely unfazed. Jonathan swiftly got off the horse and ran over, stopping beside Cynthia. He held her by the shoulders, looking her over. "Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Cynthia's expression was complex as she shook her head. "No, I'm not hurt."
Jonathan finally breathed a sigh of relief. Turning around, his gaze was cold and steady as he looked at the woman leisurely sipping tea. "Whitney, it's been a while."
Whitney finally put down the antique porcelain cup, her face full of smiles as she looked at Jonathan. "It's been ages. The last time you returned to Betrico, you didn't even come home. Dad was really let down." Although Jonathan already knew the answer in his heart, he still asked, "Whitney, what are you doing here?"
Whitney remained composed. "This island is mine. I suddenly felt like coming over today. Just as the plane landed, I saw Ms. Jones' horse running wild, and it was my bodyguards who rescued her."
Whitney had two bodyguards with her at all times. They were top-tier mercenaries trained by an international secret organization, also... elite assassins.
Jonathan naturally couldn't believe that Whitney just happened to be here. They had only arrived on the island yesterday, and Nina was almost attacked. Today, both Nina and Cynthia's horses went crazy. Whitney was definitely involved.
What he hadn't expected was that this island belonged to Whitney. In other words, they were now completely at her mercy. After speaking, Whitney looked at Cynthia. "Ms. Jones, you haven't thanked me for saving your life yet."
Cynthia was seeing someone demand gratitude for the first time. She knew there was no way her horse going wild was an accident. Maybe all of this was Whitney's doing.
Cynthia's face was almost expressionless. "Ms. Bennett, I can't repay your life-saving grace in this lifetime, so I guess I'll have
