Chapter My Toyboy 137

Chapter 137.

"How did you two meet?" Jonathan, asked.

"That day, I had just finished my shift and saw a robbery right before my eyes Preston described every detail of how he met Cynthia is if he was completely immersed in the memory of that day.

He spoke with such detail that Jonathan's heart tightened.

He hadn't known Cynthia had experienced a robbery while in Pillere.

"Cynthia is really amazing. When she knocked those two people down in just a few moves, it felt like she was glowing. And when she looked at me, her eyes were like the most brilliant gems in the world. At that moment, I felt like my heart had stopped "Do you know what that feels like?" Preston leaned in and asked Jonathan.

Jonathan's face darkened. "I don't know. I only know that if your heart stops, you'll die."

Preston scoffed. "Uncle, you may have a great business mind, but you don't understand love." Preston was drunk.

Jonathan stuffed him into the back seat of the car and soon they were driving on the elevated city road.

He planned to take Preston to Piedmont Manor.

Susanna had been missing him dearly.

"Cynthia... Cynthia... Preston, half-asleep, was still calling out Cynthia's name.

Hearing him repeat "Cynthia" again and again made Jonathan's brow furrow tightly.

"Cynthia, your smile is so beautiful..." Preston murmured,

Jonathan got off the elevated road and suddenly made a sharp turn at an intersection, yanking the steering wheel hars Jeft Preston's body lurched to the right, his head hitting the car window.

In his sleep, Preston's brow furrowed slightly, but it seemed he was dreaming of something pleasant. "Cynthia, can I kiss you?"

Jonathan slammed on the brakes. Preston rolled right off the back seat and hit the floor.

The next day, Preston woke up in bed, feeling disoriented by his unfamiliar surroundings. Reflexively, he rubbed his forehead. His head ached; his shoulders hurt-his whole body felt sore as if he'd been beaten up. He got up and realized he was in a villa estate. Just as he opened the door, the butler was standing there.

This was the butler from the Bennett manor in Betrico, so Preston naturally recognized him

Zach, what are you doing here? Where is this place?" Preston asked.

Zach replied, "Mr. Sullivan, you've finally returned. This is Piedmont Manor. Mrs. Bennett is in the dining room, asking for you to join her for breakfast," Preston suddenly remembered. His grandmother had moved to Roncrity three years ago.

She was a native of Romerity, and since the climate here was pleasant, with beautiful mountains and clear waters, it was an ideal place to live. However, his grandfather Clifford still lived in Betrico.

Although Clifford was advanced in age, his spirit remained sharp, and he still made the key decisions in the family.

But in recent years, he had been planning to relinquish his control.

He had even mentioned wanting to fully retire before turning eighty

The family was now a mess, with constant fights for power and influence.

No wonder his grandmother had chosen to move to Roncrity for some peace and quiet.

Preston didn't often return to the country, and when he did, it was usually to Betrico-he had never been to Piedmont Manor before

Seeing family again made Preston happy.

He ran all the way to the dining room, and sure enough, he saw Susanna and Jonathan having breakfast.

"Grandmal" he shouted loudly, then rushed over and hugged Susanna from behind, planting several kisses on her cheeks. "Grandma, I missed you so much!" Susanna's wrinkled face beamed with joy from all the kisses. "Alright, alright, let go of me first," she said, laughing

Preston continued to cling to her, acting like a spoiled child. "Grandma, did you miss me?"

"Of course, I missed you," Susanna said.

Preston had been raised at the Bennett manor in Betrico until he was five, always by Susanna's side, so their bond was incredibly strong.

"If you missed Grandma so much, why didn't you tell us you were back?" Jonathan chimed in.

Susanna's expression turned serious, though playfully. "Yes, you say you missed me, but you've been in Roncrity for seve days already, and I haven't seen you at all!"

Preston pouted unhappily at Jonathan and then began sweet-talking Susanna, "Grandma, don't you want a granddaughter-

in-law?"

Susanna was momentarily taken aback. "What do you

mean?

"I came here this time to pursue a girl. I haven't won her over yet, so how could I come and see you before succeeding? Preston said

Hearing this, Susanna was delighted.

Susanna had many descendants, with three daughters and one son. Whitney, her eldest daughter, had one son-Preston. Her second daughter, Isabella, had a son and a daughter-Hudson and Scarlett. Her youngest daughter. Amelia, had one daughter-Yvette. On the surface, it seemed like there were plenty of descendants, but her children's relationships with one another were worse than those of strangers.

Whenever they met, it was either to argue over the inheritance or to get

get into physical fights.

Susanna was so disappointed by all of this that she had retreated to Roncrity to find some peace. 10:08 Thu, Nov 7

Fortunately, her grandchildren were relatively filial, though most of them had grown up abroad.

Some of them had said they'd never fall in love, some were homosexual, and some even said that if they ever got married.

they'd be wild-free.

It was all a mess.

Now, hearing Preston say he wanted to find her a granddaughter-in-law, Susanna was naturally overjoyed.

"You have a crush now? And she's from Roncrity? Which family is she from? Tell me, and I will make the decision for you," she said.

Jonathan suddenly spoke up. "Mom, are you really in a position to make that decision for Whitney? It's best not to make promises so easily."

Susanna sighed after hearing this. She was raised as a refined lady from a traditional, scholarly family.

After marrying Clifford, she had been pampered her whole life. She had a gentle personality, but her children were all fiercely independent, with the eldest, Whitney, being the most formidable of them all. Susanna knew she couldn't control her.

Still, she pouted a little. "I'm just asking. Can't a grandmother care about her grandson?"

Preston declared, "No one has a say in my marriage, not even my mother. I'll only marry the one I love. Otherwise, I'll stay single forever."

Susanna thought his words were a bit extreme and leaned forward to ask, "So, what's the name of the girl you like?"

Preston smiled shyly, revealing his dimples. "Her name is Cynthia."

Jonathan's expression darkened completely.

Susanna repeated the name softly to herself, "Cynthia. Isn't she.

"Mom, Preston's feelings are one-sided. Ms. Jones doesn't like him," Jonathan interrupted.

Susanna was stunned because she knew Cynthia had always been Jonathan's girlfriend.
