Chapter One Night of Sin: Epilogue
All was quiet in the theater as Braxton slipped out onto the stage to collect the roses that had been left behind. As far as he was concerned, they all belonged to the star—his star—his stunning and beautiful wife-to-be.
Not that she needed any more flowers. Dozens and dozens had already been sent to her to wish her well before she stepped foot onstage. And wish her well they did, for Lilliana had left the entire room spellbound by her performance.
No woman could ever take her place. He could search a thousand lifetimes and still never find a woman he loved so thoroughly, so madly. And soon, she would be his wife.
Wife. The very word seemed so foreign to him only not so long ago, and now the word could not have been more heavenly to him, for it signified so much more than he’d ever anticipated he would ever achieve. And much like the child in her womb, his love for her would only grow more with the passage of time.
The sound of light footsteps spun his head around, and he smiled as Lilliana drew near. Save for her robe, her legs were bare, and just the sight of her in such a state made heat surge through his veins. Dear God, she couldn’t be more beautiful.
And suddenly the need to carry her upstairs and make love to her had never felt so profoundly necessary as it did now.
“Oh, dear heavens!” she giggled. “I don’t need any more flowers. I have quite a number of them as it is.”
“Ah, but you deserve them all, my dear. Every last one.”
She smiled as she took a seat at the edge of the stage, dangling her legs over the ledge as she stared out at the now-empty seats. “It’s funny. I never would’ve dreamed of achieving so much in my life. And now… in the blink of an eye, the world seems to be falling into place.”
Lilliana leaned back, staring up at the gilded ceiling in wonder. “Life is but a dream, sometimes, isn’t it?”
“It can be,” Braxton said. “But I’d dare say this reality is much better than any dream I could ever dare to have.”
Braxton leaned over her, brushing the silken fabric of her robe aside to free her breasts. “And most of all, I could never dream of anyone as wholly wonderful as you.”
He pressed a soft kiss to her collar bone, and Lilliana arched upward as his kisses heated her skin, making their way slowly to the tender peak of her breast.
“I am a very lucky man,” he whispered against her skin. “A very lucky man, indeed.”
Lilliana’s eyes flew open as Braxton’s teeth tugged gently at her nipple. The man was unmerciful! And to think he should ravish her here, of all places!
“Braxton,” she rasped. He ignored her, lathing the taut peak with his hot tongue. “Oh dear heavens, Braxton, we cannot do this here!” Still, her body ached for him, and she gasped as his tongue swirled between her breasts. “We will surely get caught,” she whispered.
“Last I checked,” he said between kisses, “it is my theater.” His tongue swirled against her navel, sending heat shooting straight to her core. “We can make love wherever we please.”
With warm hands, he separated the remaining silken fabric, slowly exposing the thick curls at her center, and she parted her legs eagerly, aching for his tongue to greet her. He had not realized how ready she was, ready for him to enter her once more, and she arched upward as Braxton buried his face between her legs. Over and over, his tongue danced against the sensitive bud, grazing her heated flesh until she could not sit still any longer, until she could scarcely breathe. Up and down he lapped at her, drinking in the saltiness of her skin, and her mind went blank as he slipped his tongue inside her, tasting her innermost flesh.
No words could describe how wonderful it felt to be thoroughly and completely devoured by him.
And she could think of nothing else but the insatiable need to have him inside her now.
Her legs twitched as one finger entered her, then two, stroking the tender flesh at her core until her eyes squeezed shut, and with a ragged breath she sighed as her climax came, drenching his fingers with her essence.
Braxton fumbled with his trousers, desperately wishing to free himself of his restraints, and he slipped his cock free through the opening, taking his hardened shaft in his hands as he lowered himself to her.
“Won’t you take them off?” Lilliana laughed.
“I cannot be bothered to waste time with it when all I want is to be inside you.” he growled. He patted his right shoulder. “Put your foot up here.”
Lilliana lifted her leg slowly, nestling her ankle against his neck, and he greeted her at her entrance, caressing the tip of his shaft against her swollen flesh. Over and over he circled against her, teasing and toying with her as the frustration built inside her.
“Braxton, please,” she begged. He smiled down at her wickedly, savoring the slight moan that escaped her lips as he eased himself into her tight, warm center. He had not a single care in the world at this moment, and even if by some strange act of fate someone would happen upon them, he could care less. He was a man wholly and truly in love, and he would make love to this woman every night for the rest of his life.
Breathless pants of desire were all that could be heard as thrust ceaselessly into her, and when at last her leg grew weary, she wrapped her legs around his waist, gripping him firmly as he drove himself inside her.
Lilliana closed her eyes, feeling the desire reach its most maddening of heights as his movements slowed, and all at once he gave a low, shuddering groan as his climax came.
For several moments, the two remained motionless, helplessly weak from their lovemaking. Life would never be the same now that Lilliana had entered his life.
And he could not have been happier about it.
Braxton pressed a tender kiss to her temple, and gazed into the hazy, heavy-lidded eyes of the woman he so loved. “I do hope you know I shall love you for always,” he whispered. “Please say you will be my bride.”
Lilliana twirled her fingers around the dampened hair at the base of Braxton’s neck and kissed him gently upon the lips. “Yes. Yes I will.”
