Once Rejected My Alpha Stepbrother Wants Me Back Chapter 21
Chapter 21
Josie’s POV.
“What’s that for?” I asked again as Diego stepped into my space. Now I can smell his sandalwood
scent.
Smirking, he lifted the flowers and handed them over to me.
“Goddess, this is beautiful,” I exclaimed, momentarily forgetting that my daughter was beside me. I brought the flowers to my nose and smelled the lovely scent.
“I love it, Diego but you shouldn’t have gotten them. These flowers are practically the most expensive flower in the world.” I said to him.
I don’t really deserve them because I’m not looking like these first–class ladies the flowers are meant for, I muttered to myself with a faint shrug.
“Yes,” Diego said in response to my last words. I felt his thumb skim over my cheek and his eyes found their way into mine. “Someone as beautiful as you deserve the most expensive flowers.”
My cheeks immediately heated up at his words. Of course, I couldn’t remember the last time someone ever told me I looked beautiful.
Still not getting the need for the flowers, I frowned my brows up at him and spluttered. “But what’s the occasion for?”
That was when I heard my daughter’s voice.
“The occasion is to make you happy, mommy.”
Turning to Diego, she beamed up at him and said, “Yay Uncle! Team A and D won!!” She hastened to Diego’s side and curled her arms around him.
Diego’s face got quickly occupied with a wide smile as he picked up my daughter and whispered in agreement.
“Yes, princess. We’re the winning team.”
At his gruff words, I smiled. No matter how sad I was when the cab stopped us, it all went into a recess as I watched the scene.
So, this was what she discussed with Diego in the morning? Goddess, Aria was acting way beyond her age.
I never knew she’d be intent on making me happy. My heart rumbled as my daughter stretched her hand and curled it over my neck as she slipped from Diego’s hands, weaving her way into mine.
At that moment, she pressed a quick chaste over my cheeks.

Chapter 21
“I love you, Mommy and I want you to be happy and smile!”
“Oh, baby. I sure am happy about this.”
Now, gazing at Diego, I found out he had his eyes on me too. That same cloud of emotions rippled through his eyes.
I became overly conscious under his gaze as I offered. “Would you mind, staying over for dinner? I know it’s already late but something light would be fine.”
At my offer, Diego nodded and a smirk crept to his lips.
All three of us took the steps and walked into the house. Aria wriggled away from my hand and hurried to the TV to watch her favorite cartoon.
I was already done making the tortilla and about to serve it to Diego when he launched into a phone call.
His brows drew together in a frown as he whispered cusses in a low voice because Aria was there.
He sprung sharply to his feet, pocketing the phone as he traded glances with me.
“I’m sorry, Rose.” He growled out, sidestepping the small overstuffed chair meant for Aria to walk
closer to me.
There, my heart began another tap–dance as he moved into my space.
“Something came up. I need to handle it.” He said, boring his green eyes into mine.
I nodded lightly as Diego raised his thumb to graze my cheeks again.
“Diego…” I wanted to say something but the courage wasn’t there and I could see the flit of curiosity in his eyes. “Thank you.” I hummed, biting my lips.
As his eyes went down to my lips, his parted and he swallowed thickly. It took him a minute to clasp his gaze over mine again.
“Good night, Rose.” His gruff words found their way into my ears as it sputtered. Before I knew it, Diego crouched to my level and pressed his lips over my cheeks.
Sparks zinged through me when he got up and winked at me.
Turning to Aria he said goodbye to my girl and went off.
A fluttering feeling went through me as I lay Aria on bed that night, thinking.
What was this I’m feeling?
Was it a lack of life or a lack of any man in my life?

Chapter 21
Diego’s POV
The light that shone through Rose’s eyes when she saw me back there with the flowers brought every nerve in me alive.
I swear, I wanted to reach her and steal the breath she was taking with my lips. She was everything I ever asked for.
Everything I wanted to breathe for and live for.
I almost lost my shit and dammed all consequences by her before her daughter. , it was willpower that made me to pull back.
Fucking hell, I white–knuckle my steering wheel just as the image of her biting those rosy, generous lips of hers flashed through my mind.
Rose was an angel and I swear that one day, I’d do dirty things to her.
I hated the fact that my evening of warmth under her gaze was cut short by my assistant’s call.
I had to tear away from her apartment, rushing to the meeting point where I was supposed to handle the ongoing shit.
I wonder what Gabe had done to these now.
Under the gleam of the moonlight, I swerved my car through the lonely paths that led to where Gabe was.
On getting there, I killed my engine and slipped outta the car.
My wolf eyes peered into the night.
This path was in the middle of a road flanked by the woods on both sides.
I don’t remember ever being here before, so what the was Gabe doing here?
I released a breath and called out to my assistant. “Gabe? Where the are you?”
Sounds of crickets rang through the air and the chirping of night birds accompanied it.
My nerves went on alert and my wolf instincts propped out.
I was just about to call the number Gabe had called me with when I heard something thud on the floor.
Chapter 21
Sharply, I raised my eyes and caught sight of Gabe panting on the ground with a bloodied face.
- up.
“Gabe!!?” I called out with a harsh tone to my voice as I rushed over to him and held him
His harsh pants and gasps assailed the air and I held him, waiting to staunch the blood but it didn’t
relent.
“Gabe? What happened?” I questioned, holding him up.
His swollen eyes stared right into the air and his head almost slipped from my hand.
“Talk to me.” I barked, wanting to revive him but no, the man’s wolf wasn’t answering. It seemed to have been gone.
“Boss…” His whispered voice pierced my ears and I looked at him with rage rumbling through me.
“Who did this?” I questioned…
“It…was….they…said…” He coughed out blood, almost choking on it. I urged him to speak more.
Gabe tried to speak more but it was as if something was stopping him. I held him closer, begging that he shouldn’t leave me.
Unfortunately, my assistant took his last breath, dying in my arms.
I roared, crying because he had been more than a friend. He was my brother–in–arms too.
When my weak eyes went back to his cold body, I caught a claw mark on his neck, drawn in the form of a tattoo.
Slowly, I rose to my feet and I imprinted the mark in my mind.
Whoever did this would hear from me….and I couldn’t think of the pack that had such a mark….
Walking home tiredly, I switched on the lights in the living room only for a gasp to flush out of my lips at the naked sight of Lilly.
“Being waiting, Beta. How about we re–do the good old days again?” She smirked, drawing her finger from her chest, rounding it around her left nipple down to her torso.
The last spot the finger hovered on was her pointed clits before disappearing into her pussy….
Touching herself, a moan flew out of her lips.
She stretched her other hand, beckoning me close.
“Beta Diego, make this storm calm with your cock, please…”
Slowly, I took steps towards her until I paused before the couch she lay on…then.
Chapter 21
I hold her hand, guiding her thrust into her pussy. Wet, naughty sounds echoed across the walls.
“Tell me again, Lilly, when was the last time you were in Double Moon pack?”
I already smelled it, the scent of our pack was very faint on her from the first time I saw her…
“The…the time…you saw me…” She gasped.
I wasn’t very sure…there was a loophole I was looking to see but I couldn’t find it.
My eyes dropped on her cunt and I saw her milky streamers leaving in rivulet.
It was all I could do to hold myself.
However, I trailed my hand over her thighs and gave her a wet slap, making her bunch her hips and a moan of need vibrated from her lips.
“Again, Lilly, when was the last time you left the pack…?”
The way her eyes flashed told me something was wrong somewhere.
To be continued…
