Once Rejected My Alpha Stepbrother Wants Me Back Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Josie’s POV.

“I expected nothing else from a whore like you, Rose. I knew this was where you come to learn the skills you snatch people’s men from.” Dahlia scowled as she said the words.

How did she know it was me?

Besides what did she mean by the fact that I snatch people’s men?

I couldn’t stand the girl because my mind told me she was the one sabotaging my reviews at work and I hated her for it.

Closing my eyes, I took in a long breath.

It was you right?” I asked and her scowl only increased.

She sneered, crossing her arms over her chest.

I didn’t like the fact that she was looking over me in a toilet stall. It was dangerous. The look on her face told me she had some evil intentions that was why she followed me here.

“You think you’d go free for trying to seduce my man?” She said with disgust lacing her voice.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” I tried to push past her but Dahlia was fast enough to block my view.

“Not so fast. You’ll pay for trying to snake into my man’s pants, Rose.”

Before I could blink freely, she tucked her hand under my throat, cutting off my breath.

“What man are you talking about?” I choked out. I clutched her wrist, wanting to get it off of me but she couldn’t let up.

“Every other man you’ve stolen. You always keep trying to get in my way and I swear I hate you so much for it.”

Swearing under her breath, she pushed me against the wall.

Through my pinched eyes, I managed to get a look on her face and then I saw her eyes glowing red. Her wolf was taking over.

Lady, help out, I choked out, calling to my wolf but she didn’t surface.

It was as if Lady got muted like she was nonexistent.

What was happening to her?

My mind began to blur and I threw my hands around as the shortness of breath increased. I wanted

to get free.

When I began scratching Dahlia’s face, I could only feel hairs, not the soft skin I was expecting.

Peering through my cracked eyelids, I saw her elongated jaws and canines. Her face already turned into her lycanwolf, and that only increased her powers over me.

I struggled, throwing my legs around to kick her off of me but it was powerless.

“I almost had the guy out there but you still thrust yourself forward and had the guts to  him… She growled.

I didn’t even know who the guy was but here I was suffering because I  him for a game.

I tried to connect with my friends but that didn’t work.

I was still in my clouded thoughts when I suddenly felt Dahlia push me off the wall and hit on the toilet seat.

White hot pain seared through me and I gasped.

my

head

“What did just do?” I barked as she looked over me, her chest puffing with every breath she took.

As my gaze held onto hers, I didn’t know the power that flooded through me and I suddenly rose to my feet. My eyes were blazing but I could feel it wasn’t my wolf coming.

There was the swirling of air around me and it grew with force. A sudden red light started manifesting from the ground up and I looked down, only to see the red flash of light coming from my hand

Dahlia’s face turned back into her human form quickly and fear enveloped her eyes.

Taking a backward step, I followed her, moving by the sheer force of the power.

Whatever was happening wasn’t me. It had never happened before. Neither was it

my wolf.

What was that?

I could barely breathe. I could barely think. I’m just moving on reflex as I stomped towards Dahlia.

“Don’t please…don’t…” She stuttered, staring at me in fear. Her breath was coming out of short

pants

But I couldn’t listen. I couldn’t speak.

The look of horror on her face told me, she hadn’t seen something like that before.

I wanted to make it stop. I wanted to control myself but it wasn’t

happening.

My insides were ripped with pain.

I almost whimpered but my lips couldn’t move. My eyes burned as the power oozed from me.

Who was 12

What was this forceful power?

Was I going to die?

I kept asking myself. I dropped to my knees before Dahlia. Her mouth was agape.

She shivered as I got closer…wanting to get away from me but my hand reflexively clutched hers

“No! Please…Rose….” Warbled cries left her lips. Her eyes that showed her wolf before were nothing.

now but normal now.

I felt her skin burning as if I was drawing her strength into mine.

She peered down at her hand which I was holding. Her face pinched with pain.

“What are…you?” She managed to ask but I couldn’t. My hand only tightened around hers, drawing

her strength.

I could feel life leaving her eyes. Her shortness of breath became too obvious.

Oh, goddess. She was losing her…life.

The realization made me pull back with fear.

Dahlia dropped to the floor, her eyes opening and closing.

What did I just do?

Just as quickly as that power came, it vanished like it hadn’t been there.

I gasped for breath holding onto my neck.

What did I do to her?

Surging to my feet, I rushed and held her head.

“Dahlia…” I tapped her cheeks. She barely moved and my heart dampened in worry.

Had I killed someone?

In my panic state, I grabbed one of her wrists, checking her pulse.

It was working. Thank goddess, she was alive.

My heart leaped with joy at that..

Tapping her cheeks again, her eyes moveu au had been muttering was “What are you?”

I’ve never questioned myself

like I’m doing now, I have never felt such a thing before.

A sudden wave of dizziness hit me and I clutched my head. I felt droplets of liquid down my clothes and on looking down, I saw blood.

Swiping my finger over my nose, I found out the blood  coming from me.

I was having a nosebleed, I realized.

No, I can’t stay here. I have to go.

Manageably, I rose to my feet, stumbling a bit.

Taking one last glance at Dahlia, I rushed and opened the door.

I couldn’t go through the front again so I stumbled to the back gates.

In record time, I find myself on the street, my heart roaring.

The air was a bit frosty but I didn’t care.

I wanted to run home. I needed to be away from here.

Whatever happened back there wasn’t normal. I can’t…I swallow heavily.

I can’t let anyone find out about that.

I wasn’t normal, I thought shaking my head.

It was obvious that I wasn’t normal.

Why had my wolf stayed mute?

Where had the power come from?

Was I…cursed?

Oh, goddess. I’ve heard stories about cursed wolves. Was I amongst them?

And why hadn’t I felt that before now?

I couldn’t seem to find an answer to this question.

I trudged along the street in fear of what would happen to Dahlia. I wondered if she’d tell anyone I wasn’t normal.

I didn’t notice the car honking behind me.

It wasn’t until I felt someone

“Rose? What happened to you?”

I knew that voice… I could

recognize it anywhere.

“Why are you crying?” He asked again.

My feet crumpled. I didn’t

even know I was crying as he wiped my cheeks.

“Did anyone hurt you?” He asked again, worry clear in his voice.

“Please, take me home, Diego,” I muttered, weakly.

“You’re…bleeding…” That was all I heard him say when my vision clouded and darkness. overwhelmed me.
