Notice Me Darling! by Cheap Treasure ( Natalie Shepherd ) Chapter 23

Chapter 23 Quit Being a Wiseass

Natalie raised an eyebrow and continued, “Aren’t you having this much hatred for me because I took the title of ‘Mrs. Chase‘ away from her? In that case, I’ll return this title to her.

“Henry, if you’re worried about your grandparents putting pressure on you, I’ll handle them. I’ll make sure you marry Juliet without worries, and I’ll never bother you again!”

After making a string of guarantees, Natalie asked uneasily, “In this case, can you stop all this? Can you not demolish my house?”

The house! It just had to be about that house! She came all the way here just to coax him, but she did it just to save her house.

This made Henry feel a wave of unhappiness in his chest. Moreover, she kept bringing Juliet up.

Henry’s mouth formed a straight line, and a cold expression appeared on his face.

“If you don’t believe me, I’ll write you a letter of guarantee, or-” Natalie continued, thinking she wasn’t sincere enough.

However, before she could finish, Henry snapped, “Shut the hell up! Quit being a wiseass! You, of all people, don’t have any say in Juliet and my affairs!”

Natalie didn’t know what to say in response.

Suddenly, Henry grabbed her arm and went to his room.

Natalie panicked. “What are you doing?”

Henry glanced back at her and spat, “Don’t worry, I’m not interested in you!”

Natalie frowned at his words and asked, “Then, what on earth are you doing?”

Henry ended up dragging her over to the dressing table. He handed her the hair dryer on the table. “Help me dry my hair!”

Natalie froze. She couldn’t, for the love of her, understand Henry’s train of thought.

He was probably still upset with her. So why was he asking her to dry his hair?

Seeing that she didn’t move, Henry couldn’t resist saying impatiently, “What’s wrong? Are you deaf?”

Natalie turned away. A hint of bitterness laced her tone, though she never picked

Henry’s grip on the hair dryer tightened unconsciously at her words.

He forced out with gritted teeth, “If you dare to mention Juliet again, I’ll feed you to the fishes in the sea!”

Since Natalie finally had the chance to speak with him, she thought it was better not to upset him. With this in mind, she took the hair dryer from him and said, ” Sit down.”

Only then did Henry smile in satisfaction.

Why couldn’t Natalie be more obedient? If she hadn’t disagreed with him so much, maybe they would… Wait, what?

Henry quickly cut off his line of thought. He didn’t have any reason to make assumptions about their relationship.

This was Natalie’s first time helping him dry his hair.

It wasn’t like she hadn’t imagined a scenario like this. However, she never imagined this would happen after she intended to divorce him.

As her fingers ran through his hair, her palms touched his scalp every now and then..

Henry felt that her palms seemed to be a little hot. He stood up and grabbed her

wrist

Natalie looked at him, confused. “What are you doing?”

“Do you have a fever?” He could clearly feel her body’s hot temperature.

Natalie quickly pulled her hand away. “It’s just a little fever. Don’t worry about it.

Since she was pregnant, she couldn’t take medicine.

So, she had to bear with it, no matter how uncomfortable she was.

Initially, she thought she could get some rest, but Henry wouldn’t let her do that. She came to the island to look for him despite being sick to please him.

Henry looked at her thoughtfully. So, she wasn’t faking it. She really was sick.

At the thought of this, Henry felt the anger in his chest dissipating by a significant margin.

“Come here.” Henry walked to a couch and stood in front of it.

“Why?”

“Just do as I say!” Seeing that she was motionless, Henry had no choice but to drag het over to the couch himself.

“You-”

Henry held her shoulder and ordered, “Don’t you have a fever? Sit down and rest!

When Natalie heard his words, she felt a little dizzy. Did her fever mess up her brain?

Was the person before her really Henry? Did he actually say these words out of concern?

“I’ll get a doctor to come take a look,” Henry said albeit awkwardly.

As soon as he took out his phone, Natalie slapped it away. “No!”

Then, the phone fell to the ground.

When her eyes met Henry’s, she inevitably felt a little guilty. She also realized she had overreacted..

But there was really no need for Henry to call a doctor. Otherwise, if the doctor prescribed some medicine, he might insist she take it again.

She really didn’t want to deal with that.

Natalie said as calmly as possible, “It’s just a little fever. There’s no need to call a

doctor.”

“Suit yourself.” Henry didn’t care too much about her wellbeing.

He leaned over and picked up the phone. But as soon as he did, the phone rang.

Juliet was calling him.

Henry frowned. He came to the resort island to relax. He had no idea why Juliet was here as well.

He didn’t intend to answer her call, so he threw his phone on the bed. But unexpectedly, the doorbell rang.

Henry had already guessed who was at the door, leading to his expression crumbling. He casually wore a robe, walked toward the door, and opened it.

Juliet clearly dressed up meticulously. She wore a saucy and cute floral dress and

a straw hat.

When she saw Henry, she smiled brightly. “Henry, let’s go have a meal. I made at reservation at the restaurant

“I’m going to meet someone,” Henry cut her off.

The smile on Juliet’s face froze for a moment, but she soon thought he was just making excuses.

So, she asked tentatively, “Henry, are you worried about the reporters? Don’t worry, I’ve already asked the restaurant staff to-

“Sorry, I’m really not free at the moment. See you around.” Henry didn’t give her a chance to speak and closed the door.

The moment he closed the door, a trace of impatience appeared on his face.

He had already told Juliet multiple times that although they were still friends, they didn’t have to interact this much. However, she didn’t seem to take his words seriously.

Back in the room, Natalie was sitting quietly on the couch. She heard what happened at the door.

She cleared her throat awkwardly and asked, “Are you two fighting?”
