Chapter Remarriage You 429

Chapter 429 The New Neighbor

Lenora's eyes flashed with confusion but quickly dismissed it as she headed straight to the magazine publisher.

The magazine's spread featured not only photos of the actor but also interviews and descriptive text.

The illustrations needed to complement the interview content with strong visual appeal.

The actor's team had their own preferred style and had brought along a makeup artist.

Seeing that Lenora was a young foreign woman, the actor's manager grew deeply concerned.

He worried that Lenora might not execute the shoot well and asked the editor-in-chief if there were other photographers available.

The editor-in-chief reassured him, saying, "Old friend, don't worry. Lenora is an excellent young photographer. Let her try, and I guarantee you'll be satisfied."

Truthfully, even the editor-in-chief wasn't entirely confident. Lenora had experience shooting portraits, but the demands for regular people versus celebrities were entirely different, especially in terms of image presentation.

However, since Lenora was already there, it wouldn't have been appropriate to send her away.

The manager knew the editor-in-chief wouldn't talk nonsense and decided to give Lenora a chance.

Lenora approached the manager and the actor to discuss the shoot.

Knowing she would be working with an actor, Lenora had previously researched their photos and work. Based on the actor's facial features and temperament, she had already prepared a shooting plan. She also reviewed past spreads of the magazine to ensure she aligned with the overall aesthetic.

After understanding their desired effect, Lenora directed the staff to prepare the props.

The set had already been arranged, but she walked through it, observing carefully and making minor adjustments to the layout.

Seeing Lenora's professional demeanor, the manager gradually relaxed.

The actor, having posed for numerous magazines and photoshoots, collaborated seamlessly.

In addition to the illustrations for the spread, Lenora captured numerous other photos.

Once the shoot was complete, Lenora imported all the photos onto a computer and flipped through them one by one for the editor-in-chief, the actor, and the manager to review.

They needed to select four or five images for the magazine's spread, while the rest would depend on the actor's preferences for additional usage.

The scenes, lighting, and composition were all on point. Even without retouching, the photos looked stunning.

The editor-in-chief breathed a sigh of relief inwardly after viewing the photos.

Lilliane hadn't let her down, and her reputation remained intact.

Several photos caught the manager's attention.

After going through the batch again, they narrowed it down to twelve images.

The manager said, "Let's go with these. Once the retouching is done, we'll select a few from this set. As for the extras, you know the usual procedure."

Lenora understood that the "usual procedure" meant purchasing the additional images to release online after the magazine's publication or to produce promotional materials. "Got it," the editor-in-chief replied.

The manager then went through each photo with Lenora, detailing the adjustments needed.

Lenora recorded everything on her phone.

Her next task was to edit the twelve selected photos until both the manager and the actor were satisfied.

She exchanged contact information with the manager to ensure seamless communication.

When Lenora returned home, she opened her laptop and began working on editing the photos.

She had a quick dinner before continuing to work, fully engrossed.

At eleven o'clock in the evening, she finished washing up and lay in bed, wondering who the mysterious Clusian man who drove away her noisy neighbor could be. Exhausted, she quickly fell into a deep sleep.

Before she was about to drift off to sleep, a sudden spark of insight flashed across her mind.

Overwhelmed with exhaustion, Lenora let herself drift off completely.

The next day, she had already forgotten the spark of insight.

After a full day of editing, she completed the preliminary retouching for all twelve photos according to the manager's request. She then sent them to the manager and waited for his feedback. The manager, seemingly busy or perhaps consulting with the actor, didn't respond immediately.

Unbothered, Lenora grabbed her phone and went out for dinner.

While she was eating, another sudden realization hit her.

She figured out who the mysterious Clusian man might be.

Still, she needed to confirm her suspicion at the police station.

After dinner, Lenora visited the station, where the officer on duty happened to have worked on Lenora's case before.

She asked, "Is Tom a Clusian man?"

"Yes." The officer recalled. "I realized I forgot to tell you after you left."

"Thank you."

With this confirmation, Lenora felt even more certain of her hunch.

Now, how can I lure Tom out?

As she pondered this, she walked forward, only to encounter a group of young street thugs.

They were dressed in trendy outfits, adorned with chunky chain necklaces. Their exposed arms were wrapped in tattoos.

Seeing Lenora walking alone, a foreign woman at that, the leader exchanged glances with his friends before blocking her path. "Hey, pretty lady. Wanna hang out with us?"

Lenora stopped and looked at them warily, taking a step back. She snapped, "Get lost! Why would I hang out with you?"

The thug leader sneered at her defiance. "You don't have a choice. You're coming with us whether you want to or not!" He reached out to grab Lenora's shoulder.

"Go away!"

Lenora brushed his hand away, dodging quickly.

The others moved to circle behind her, pushing at her shoulders. "Come on, pretty lady. Let's go have some fun." "Get lost."

"You're gonna regret this!"

The thug behind her lost his patience. Annoyed, he grabbed her hair roughly, yanking her backward.

Lenora cried out as she stumbled and fell.

The young thug's eyes were filled with malicious intent as he clutched onto Lenora's hair, dragging her backward.

Before he could drag her further, a figure appeared from the side and landed a solid kick to the thug's back, sending him sprawling forward.

The rest of the thugs instinctively stepped back.

The leader glared at the newcomer, his tone wary. "Mind your own business!"

"Brat, you should head home," Elijah said, helping Lenora up while dismissively waving the thugs away.

He spoke in Clusian, but his tone was calm. His contempt was evident.

Before the leader of the thugs could say anything, the thug who was kicked to the ground lost his temper out of embarrassment. He raised his fist and charged at Elijah with a roar. "Ah!" Elijah sidestepped effortlessly, caught the punch with one hand, and delivered a kick to the guy's ribs.

The thug collapsed to the ground, clutching his ribs and gasping in pain.

Elijah looked down at him from above and said in Clusian, "Get lost, brat."

He didn't even bother using Uprian to communicate with them, making his arrogance and contempt abundantly clear.

The punk glared at him with seething hatred, his facial muscles twitching in rage.

Realizing Elijah wasn't someone to mess with, the leader stepped forward, grabbed his companion, and quickly led the group away.

Elijah turned to look at Lenora. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." Lenora gave Elijah a once-over before grinning. "Mr. Tom?"

"Hahaha..."

Elijah chuckled softly.
