No Escape From the Ex-husband by Summer Winters

Chapter 79

Chapter 0079

“Mr. Ford

“Have someone follow her,” Kendrick said, lowering his head to continue with his business.

Samantha rushed to the kindergarten and saw a bunch of kids playing in the park.

The moment she entered, she saw Nathan sitting next to a bush with the teacher by

his side.

“Nate!” Samantha called out softly.

When Nathan saw Samantha, he started crying.

Samantha quickly wrapped him in her embrace and checked if there were any

injuries on him.

“Ms. Meadows, Nate had a quarrel with one of the kids.”

Samantha wiped Nathan’s tears and asked, “Nate, why did you argue with the kid?”

“Boohoo! He said I looked like a girl!”

Nathan pursed his l*ps and looked very wronged.

The teacher, who was standing by the side, didn’t know what to say.

Samantha almost laughed out loud before she heard Nathan’s next sentence, “He…

He also said that I look like a girl because I don’t have a dad.”

Nathan’s eyes were red, and his hair was sticking on his face.

Samantha felt so heartbroken for her child. She pulled him into her arms and hugged him. She felt sorry for Nathan. One reason is because of the lack of a father,

and another due to the lack of company.

“Teacher, I will take Nate home for now.”

Samantha carried Nathan up in her arms.

“Alright. Nate is usually a good boy at school.”

“Thank you.

Samantha walked out of the kindergarten and placed Nathan in the passenger’s seat.

The sun was shining brightly. Samantha gave Nathan a gentle smile.

She said, “I will take you to the amusement park today, okay?”

She was presently on leave. It would be a waste if she didn’t utilize the time off.

“Really?”

Nathan’s eyes lit up.

“Of course!”

Samantha caressed Nathan’s head.

This was the first time she brought Nathan to an amusement park. As it was during school hours, there weren’t many people.

They enjoyed their time in the amusement park and only went home when it was

almost dark.

Samantha held Nathan in her arms. As soon as they entered, they saw Francis on

the phone.

Although Nathan wanted to call out “Uncle Francis,” Samantha quickly covered his

mouth. She made a shushing gesture. Francis, observing the adorable expressions of

both mother and son, eventually ended the phone call.

“It seems like you’ve handled it.”

Francis‘ gaze shifted from Samantha to Nathan.

“Uncle Francis! Mom brought me to the amusement park today!”

Nathan grinned.

“That’s nice! Go and get yourself cleaned up now.”

Francis carried Nathan from Samantha’s arms and patted his little buttocks

Nathan chuckled happily as he ran to the bathroom.

If you’re busy recently, I can pick Nate up everyday,Samantha said.

She had come home to Francis on phone calls these days. It meant that he might be dealing with something important.

“It’s fine. It’s just some business.”

Francis stretched his b*dy and sat on the couch.

“It’s been many days and you’re still Kendrick’s employee. Do you need my help?”

“Thanks, but it’s fine. I’ve troubled you too much,” Samantha replied.

Samantha had considered approaching Francis. After all, using anyone was an option. However, over the years, their relationship had developed into a genuine

friendship. Samantha felt uncomfortable exploiting Francis, especially when she didn’t want him involved in the complexities of her situation. If things were to go.

awry, she didn’t want both Francis and Kendrick to be caught up in the aftermath.

“Alright then. I might need to go on a business trip after a few days. So I won’t be

able to look after you guys.”

“No worries, just focus on your work.”

Samantha patted his shoulder when she stood up.

“Thank you,” replied Francis, slowly releasing his fists as he watched Samantha

leave.

Some things were difficult to bring up.

Samantha locked herself in her own room. She stared at the unfamiliar number on

the screen before picking up.

“Mr. Hayes.”

In the dark, Samantha leaned her back against the cold wall.

“Don’t you think we should meet up?”

Conrad sounded lazy.

“Meet?”

“To talk about what I should do.”

Conrad hung up after saying that.

Two minutes later, a message with a specific time and location was sent to

Samantha.

She took note of the details and deleted the message.

Turning on the lights in the room, Samantha found it crammed with numerous

artworks and easels.

Even at home, she sought solace in the joy of design. Seated, she picked up a

paintbrush, moving it slowly across the canvas. It seemed that only during the process of designing and painting could she find a sense of calm.

Meanwhile, the man waiting at the door meticulously recorded all her activities.
