Chapter 11
Chapter 0011
When Samantha regained consciousness, everything around her was pitch black.
Her hands and feet were bound, and her eyes were blindfolded. Her sense of hearing heightened as a result. Holding her breath, Samantha heard sounds of people breathing and drinking. She also heard the sounds of rustling fabric.
Samantha was certain that she was kidnapped, but she didn’t know by whom.
Puzzled, Samantha was about to call out when an alluring female voice spoke up, “Ms. Duncan, I hope you’re well!”
Trying to keep calm, Samantha turned around. She asked, “Who are you?” Her mind was racing to find reasons for her kidnap.
They couldn’t have been after money as Duncan Group had gone bankrupt. She and Kendrick were divorced, so that eliminated any business–related reasons!
She thought that maybe she was abducted for her looks. But then, that alone. wasn’t enough for the kidnappers to go to such lengths.
Thinking it through, her fear began to dissipate. Samantha swallowed hard and listened to the slow and deliberate voice.
“Who I am doesn’t matter, the important thing is… “The voice trailed off.
A woman with wavy hair sat on the sofa, casually sipping her wine. She raised an eyebrow and gestured to the woman beside her to continue speaking.
“Ms. Duncan, do you know why we’ve invited you over?”
“Invited me over?” Samantha sneered, “Your way of treating guests is rather unconventional, isn’t it?”
The woman who spoke before choked on her saliva. She turned to the woman with wavy hair for help. The wavy–haired woman handed her a piece of paper with a composed smile.
Overjoyed, the woman took the paper and read it out as instructed. “Ms. Duncan, I believe what you did today was no less unusual than our methods.”
“What did I do?” Gritting her teeth, Samantha tried to recall. She came to a sudden realization. It must be because she pranked Kendrick by doodling on his face.
She had spent the entire day at the hospital, so that could be the only reason. Kendrick was ruthless indeed.

“Did Kendrick instruct you to do this?” Samantha asked with a hint of anger in her voice.
“It seems that your memory is still quite sharp.” The woman chuckled. Her mocking laughter reverberated through the silent room.
“What does he want?” She had only marked his face with a black marker. It was nothing compared to the harm he did to her.
“Nothing much. However, Mr. Ford ordered us to return the favor with interest.” Her seductive voice dripped with venom.
A shiver ran down Samantha’s spine inexplicably. “What are you going to do to me?”
The woman laughed again. “Ms. Duncan, please don’t ask such naive questions.”
The wavy–haired woman sitting in the center of the sofa finished her wine and motioned to a man in black.
The man walked up to Samantha with heavy footsteps. Instinctively, Samantha tried to back away but the man subdued her easily with one hand.
Her chin was held in place. Something cold and metallic rested against her cheek.
Samantha had never been this afraid in her life. The dark room, the terrifying silence, and the unknown torture that awaited her were overwhelming.
She may be tough, but she was still a woman. Samantha was overwhelmed by intense fear. She gritted her teeth and demanded, “I want to meet Kendrick.”
The other woman with wavy hair spoke in a mocking tone, “Samantha, who do you think you are?”
Samantha was surprised to find a different voice from the one before. She realized that apart from her, there were two other women present.
The second voice sounded eerily familiar to Samantha. She tried to place the voice when a vise–like grip held her chin and forced her to look up.
The wavy–haired woman realized her mistake in revealing her voice. Annoyed that her plan was about to go awry, she raised an eyebrow and signaled to the
man.
The wavy–haired woman had a malicious smirk on her face. The expression ruined her beautiful face, making her look unbearably frightening.
She blamed Samantha for forcing her hand. She thought that Samantha should have just left quietly after divorcing Kendrick. Instead, she provoked him.

Sure enough, the wavy–haired woman was actually Linda. She was at Ford Residence last night when she witnessed Kendrick going mad for Samantha.
The man received his instructions. He swung a sharp blade at Samantha’s face forcefully.
Samantha had no idea what was happening. In the next second, her face suddenly burned with excruciating pain.
She screamed out loud, “No!”
Pain seared across her face, and warm blood trickled down her cheek instantly. Samantha struggled and screamed as if she was on the brink of death.
The gruesome scene was too much for the other woman to bear. She turned away at the sight. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Linda smile with satisfaction as she poured herself another glass of wine.
The color of the wine she drank was as red as blood. The woman felt sick to her
stomach. Linda was indeed a devil.
The sound of that woman retching disgusted Linda. She raised an eyebrow, and another man came to drag that woman out of the room.
Samantha’s face was disfigured by the blade eight times. When the man finally released her, her appearance was now unrecognizable.
The man in black withdrew to his initial position. Samantha was left on the ground to die, gasping for air.
The excruciating pain had drained her of all her strength. Her only thought was the longing for death. With her hands and feet bound, she could only struggle like
a fish out of water.
Linda was very satisfied with the outcome. She stood and approached Samantha. Her expensive heels clicked loudly in the silent room.
She crouched down and examined Samantha’s bloody face. She poured the remaining wine on Samantha and shattered the glass before leaving.
Linda thought that Samantha deserved it. After all, Samantha had attempted to steal Kendrick from her. With an evil smile on her beautiful face, Linda left the room triumphantly.
Samantha remained oblivious to everything that transpired.
After being cut eight times, the wine that was poured on her wounds only exacerbated the pain. The sensation engulfed her b*dy.

Instinctively, Samantha tried to shield her face. Struggling in vain, she realized that she couldn’t break free from the restraints that bound her limbs.
As the last footsteps faded away, Samantha lay alone in the silent room. She felt abandoned by the whole world.
Her consciousness gradually faded. In a daze, she closed her eyes. Unbeknownst to Samantha, a man with wine–red hair entered the room. He picked her up tenderly and left.
