Ninety Degrees Out

Chapter 14

Her lips were soft, supple, tenderness embodied. They spoke to a part of him he walled off long ago. A loner by nature, he never thought of having anyone share his life, but this curvy golden skinned woman with a daughter who already had his heart, managed to pull the bricks down, and climb into his soul.

“It’s been a long time,” he whispered against her ear as he nibbled at the delicate shell.

“Me too, I’m not sure I remember the moves.” Alicia’s voice trembled as she shuddered, twisting away from his lips.

He ran his hand up from her waist to cup the generous swell of her breast and she leaned into his touch. He rubbed his thumb over the swell searching the sensitive nub at the tip. With her elegant neck exposed, he trailed soft kisses under her jaw until he found her pulse fluttering under vanilla scented skin.

Alicia pushed against his hand, moaning quietly deep in her throat and he could feel the vibration under his tongue as he continued to lick and nip at the spot he found. He could feel her nipple hardening against his thumb and he slid his hand under her tee shirt. Satin, pure sensuous satin was all he could think as he ran the back of his fingers across her stomach. He wondered if he’d taste vanilla there too.

Her hand found its way under his shirt, tickling his abs where a line of dark hair made a path down into his jeans. She stroked across his stomach, sliding her palm up exploring the muscles he worked to keep firm and strong. Finding his nipple, she roused it, as he had hers, and he found the sensation more than he could bear as his briefs tightened around him.

“God, you’re hot. What a body, I want to taste every inch of you.” Her husky voice shot fire to his already uncomfortable groin.

“Hmmm, vanilla, one of my favorite flavors, it’s always been irresistible.” Chay pushed her bra aside and reached inside to cup bare skin. Her nipple hardened further pushing into his palm, begging for attention.

“Let’s get rid of these shirts.” Alicia grabbed the hem of her neon yellow tee shirt and pulled it over her head, revealing a lacy white demi cup bra. Her breasts formed perfect mounds, and he slipped the material under them, exposing mulberry tips with raspberry buds tightening into rock hard points.

“You’re beautiful, so soft, your skin is like silk.” He pulled his own azure blue shirt over his head.

Alicia’s head dipped to his belly button, her tongue swabbing the ticklish skin and she continued up leaving a wet trail of heat. He groaned as she met his lips, and he tweaked her nipple eliciting an answering moan as her tongue dove past his lips.

The kiss spun endlessly until he broke away, panting, his heart thundering. He felt hers beating like a runaway train, under his palm as he stroked her ribs, and settled his forehead against hers.

“Are you ready to take this the rest of the way?” he asked.

“God, yes!” She stood, pulling him up and linking her hands behind his neck. Standing on tip toes she pushed rock hard nipples into his chest and kissed him again. Time stopped and everything around him faded away, leaving him cupping her face as his tongue mated with hers.

“My room or yours?” Chay asked.

“Yours, I’ve seen your bed, more room and less squeaks. I don’t want Ari to wake up.” Alicia tugged him toward the stairs. He paused long enough to scoop up their shirts, and then followed her.

Alicia woke up next to a furnace wrapped around her spoon fashion. Who knew he was a cuddle addict? Reaching for the side of the bed, she extricated herself from his arms and out from under the leg he threw over her hip. Padding across the room on bare feet she ducked into the bathroom to pee and looked at herself in the mirror.

She felt like a goddess this morning. He’d worshipped every inch of her, and she ran her hands over her bare torso savoring the memory. She grabbed her tee shirt off the floor, leaving her jeans and her underwear. It was long enough to cover the essentials while she ran back to her room to grab her baby dolls and robe from the back of the office door.

Ducking through the rooms she turned on the fans Chay had dug out of storage and opened the windows to let cool air in. At least the mornings weren’t overly hot, and a breeze was usually guaranteed. When she reached over Arimina’s bed to open the window, Jazz slipped off the bed whining.

“What’s wrong boy?” She wondered if Chay knew how well the canine understood human body language. She swore like he did, the Malawolf knew exactly what she was saying.

He looked at the door and used his muzzled to push the lever down and pull to open it. Clever dog. He walked through and looked back over his shoulder expectantly. What did he want?

She followed him down, and he headed straight for the sliding door in the great room. Probably all the wolf cross wanted was to go out to do his business. She opened the glass door and slid the screen aside to let him go. He was gone in a flash, and she wondered what it was he scented when she opened the window.

Humming her favorite song, Summertime, she took stock of what they had in the fridge. She knew they needed to get into the city to get some essentials, and she thought about getting some seeds in the ground. The climate would be great for vegetables of all sorts, and they couldn’t count on the stores for much at all. Not even milk for the kids.

“Porgy and Bess? You like Gershwin?”

She stopped humming abruptly and spun from the stove where she was stirring long cooking oatmeal. They’d finished off all the boxed cereal the other day.

“Yeah, and all the old Steven Foster songs too. You startled me. Jazz is outside.” She studied Chay for a moment before she turned back to drag her wooden spoon through the thickening concoction in the pot.

“Mommy?”

Chay walked over and took the spoon. “Go see what she wants. I’ll deal with this. We need to go shopping.” He dropped a kiss on her forehead, and then captured her lips.

“Mommy!” Arimina’s voice sounded worried.

Alicia broke away from Chay’s embrace. “Be right back.”

Taking the stairs two at a time, she found Ari in the bathroom.

“What’s up, baby?”

“I can’t get anymore toothpaste out.”

Her little girl was squeezing the middle of the tube. Alicia swallowed a chuckle and took the tube from her daughter.

“Here, I’ll get it working again.” She squeezed some onto Arimina’s toothbrush and set about pushing the toothpaste up from the bottom and rolling the empty tube up so it wouldn’t happen again.

She watched as Ari brushed her teeth as she’d been taught and rinsed her mouth.

“Where’s Jazz, mommy?”

“I let him out, he wanted to go into the forest.”

“Okay, where were you last night? I was looking for you, and you weren’t in your bed.”

Arimina’s serious eyes met hers in the mirror.

What was she going to say? So much for not telling her daughter about her newly found lover.
