Chapter What's Happening?
Hi, I’m guessing you’re not used to the main character of the story addressing you. Well... I guess I really can't blame you for that. It's been strange, at least I can try to give you a feel of how strange it's been since I woke up. I've learned some things throughout my life, if you would read my story I'll try to tell what they are. I'm sure they're important to someone; maybe even you.
I was lying down on something rather soft, but it wasn’t too comfortable, it was kind of awkward having my legs propped up on something that was both soft and hard at the same time. I decided to try to move but to no avail, if I had managed to move, it probably would have hurt more because I yelped from the pain of just attempting to move.
Right after I yelped, I heard a loud snort and a stomp. It was like someone was sleeping and I accidentally woke them up. I heard some footsteps and tried to move my head around to get a better idea of where they were. They stopped for a second and started to say something; it sounded like a young woman and her voice was both soothing and made me nervous at the same time.
“You’re awake. Yes?” She said this while grabbing my foot.
I couldn’t seem to find my voice when she said it but I tried to answer by nodding.
“Quiet. Good, I like that, though it would’ve been better if you didn’t wake up at three in the morning. Now as for details let’s try to get you up first.” Right after she said this, she came over and put her palm against my back, and pushed me forward.
While she pushed me up, my vision went red and it hurt all over. I ended up letting out a small yelp; it was sad, and I felt embarrassed, even though I didn’t even know where I was or who I was yet.
“That must’ve hurt; I would say that you haven’t healed entirely but the wounds haven’t opened back up, so that’s good. Now I don’t want to remove these bandages just yet. Could you answer a few questions for me?” When she asked me I just nodded my head.
“Now, just nod yes or no. Can you recall anything of your past?” I shook my head no. “Ok. It’s either a case of amnesia, you’re faking it, or you’re still in a daze. I won’t mark anything down for sure. Alright, I’ll raise the bed so you don’t need to strain yourself any further.” I heard her get up and pull a rather squeaky lever, then I felt the soft but somehow uncomfortable padding touch my back. I savored it since it lets me relax again and the pain slowly faded away.
While I lay there, I heard her writing something, I didn’t know what but I didn’t particularly care either. I heard a door open and turned my head towards the direction the sound came from. A man’s voice came from the door and he sounded half asleep.
“Hey, why’d you call me this early in the morning?” He asked her this; I guess she didn’t tell him the reason for him to come over.
“She woke up; it took eight months but she seems to have recovered enough to regain consciousness. Moving on her own isn’t possible yet, but she has improved. She also might have a bad case of amnesia.” That’s what she told him so I assumed she asked him to come over about me.
“Well that’s good I guess. But why didn’t you tell the Pathfinder first.” He did sound really confused.
“You should tell him, I argued with him and he’s kind of steamed.” The way she said that sounded like there was still some anger deep down.
I heard the door shut so I assumed he either left without saying anything or there was an exchange of expressions to signal something. I must’ve fallen asleep right after because everything’s kind of blank.
Several of the chapters are currently going through a correction. I'm getting help and attempting to fix as many grammatical and spelling errors as we can find.
