Chapter 66: Meeting Everyone and Startling Them!
'Don't think much, just ask for others to help, and they will gladly comply,' the system replied to her inner thoughts without the need for her to ask loudly and directly about them.
'Do you think so?' she hesitantly asked, while turning to face these shocked NPCs.
'Sure, they won't hesitate to help,' the system replied, before adding, 'besides, any monster away from Jognak caliber you can kill it by using this ability of yours. Don't worry, as Jognak is already dead, and this space is sealed for any more monsters to appear here.'
The system could read her mind, though, so it understood the roots of her doubts. Its words were logic and understandable to her, and so she decided to give it a try, trusting her system once more.
"I want help from you," she suddenly opened up, speaking to them all, "I want you to search for any other NPCs, with seeds in them. bring them to me, and I will set them all free."
Her words were met with deafening silence, as they never expected her to be so magnanimous. They thought she would put conditions on them, not to ask her again for this kind of favor, or perhaps asking for extravagant requests in return for liberating more NPCs.
However, her asking them for this kind of help never crossed their imagination! That made them all eye her in a new light, as she was now acting like their benefactor.
At once, they all kneeled, without prior consent, all of them including her master, kneeled to her, expressing their utmost respect to her, and their allegiance.
"Master, we are grateful for your generosity, and kindness."
They all said in one tone, expressing their decision to follow her, just like Ela previously did. Ela was feeling proud, so proud that she even pumped out her chest.
She felt the success her master had was hers as well, as she was the one who introduced her to them, despite knowing her accidently, without any effort of her.
"Rise up everyone, I'm doing this for all of us," she said, before she realized she knew nothing about their story, or how these seeds reached inside their bodies, so she asked:
"Can anyone explain to me how you get all these seeds planted inside your bodies?"
"I can explain," Ela took the initiative, as she added, "We were all once players like you, coming from worlds like the Earth you came from. We lost the war against these monsters, or at least we didn't know they exist until the day they suddenly appeared here in the game," she said, while others nodded with grim faces, recalling past extremely painful moments.
"We lost, and most of us turned into monsters, killed in souls here and in reality. Our real world got destroyed, and we, the remaining alive ones, got the chance to live as agents for those monsters, with seeds planted in our bodies.
Any new game world started, we miraculously found ourselves inside it, acting as NPCs. All NPCs here are just like us, ex-players with seeds planted inside their bodies."
Her words were severe and really pained Oya, and she realized how dark the future of humanity had to face. "Can't you just fight back and kill them?" she asked, as despite the monster she just killed was strong, she knew with numbers everything would be solved.
"We can," Ela nodded, "but always Jognak interfered, and he isn't just a simple monster, he was something else," she added, before a smile appeared on her face, "but no more! He was killed by you and your friend, and that is alone enough to make us happy and see hope finally in repelling these monsters.
I can assure you, all the NPCs here and at any other game would gladly agree to accompany you in any fight against these monsters," she said, with a firm resolve over her face, and the faces of others.
Oya just felt reassured by Ela's words, as she wouldn't be bothered by looking for any monster to kill.
She just needed to find an NPC, and she would kill the monster inside him or her. What limited her actions, though, was the fact she needed to kill monsters daily, and that would limit her movement by a lot.
The second limitation was related to the shielding skills like what Ela used. She didn't know how to use one, and she doubted the effectiveness of such a skill if she learnt and tried to perform it on her own.
She needed Ela to be by her side all the time, and also she needed not to move for longer distances from now on.
"Is there anything we can help with?" one of the NPCs standing around her asked, as he, and the others, noticed how disturbed she looked. She just shook her head, as she said:
"It's nothing, I was just trying to organize the future days between leveling up, gathering money, and trying to kill the demons."
She was speaking honestly, without any ill intention of any kind. They understood her good hearted nature, and then her master said:
"I can help you with the leveling up process," she then turned to look at the other NPCs as she added, "Ihnasia rift is some good place for leveling up, what do you think everyone?"
"It's a great place indeed," one of NPCs replied.
"If she stayed one day with us there, she would double her level," another one added, making Oya gasp from shock.
"The leveling isn't a problem for us, but why do you need money for it?" Ela asked, as she didn't understand the reason why Oya wanted to gather money so urgently.
"It's because I wanted to establish an alliance, and doing so would need a lot of money," Oya just sighed, as she helplessly recalled the huge amount of gold coins needed to start a guild.
Ela exchanged glances with NPCs around her in silence, before they all nodded. Ela then asked:
"Do you want an alliance establishing stone too?"
"No, I already have one," she shook her head, as she didn't need the stone.
"If that is the problem you are facing, then I'll be glad to help you solve it," Ela smiled, warmly, as she patted Oya's head, like a big sister teasing her younger one.
"Really?" Oya's face shone brightly, before she hurriedly added, "but the sum I need is quite big."
"Don't worry, we all got this," Ela said while pointing to everyone here, before adding, "just give us one day and you can go and order your alliance to be built."
Oya knew Ela wasn't bluffing or joking around, so she jumped at once to hug her with extreme happiness. That natural response from her made everyone realize how stressful she was towards that matter.
"Don't worry, we got this," her master came and patted her head as well, while adding, "now about leveling things, when do you want to go?"
"Well," Oya had an awkward moment, as she didn't want to be absent from here for a whole day, "Is that rift far away from here?" she asked.contemporary romance
"It's half a day walk, and its depths can't be crossed in less than a week," her master replied.
"Well, I don't want to stay one day without killing monsters," she said, before hurriedly adding, "my ability needs practice, and if I stopped using it, it would go dull."
"Oh, never thought you would have such an issue," Ela muttered, before smiling warmly as she added, "don't worry, we will make sure you have enough supply of demon seeds all the time."
Her reply was vague, but Oya trusted her. At this moment, her notification rang, as Salsola was trying to call her.
"Hey hey, where are you? What are you doing in the middle of those awesome looking NPCs? Is this your quest?" Salsola said in a hurry, before her eyes widened from noticing all the NPCs around Oya.
"Let me see, let me see," one sound came from behind Salsola, while she turned to scold him with extreme rage:
"Go away and don't peek on my call! I'm trying to get us a good deal here!"
She then turned to look at those around her, not appearing to Oya's camera, while she had a sweet smile over her face as she said:
"Didn't I tell you she is special? Joining her is the right choice to make. She has a lot of secrets to share," she said in the last part in a whisper tone which made Oya chuckle, forgetting the stressful moments from before.
She yearned to play again with her friends, like the old times.
"Ok, give me five, I'll be there soon, I promise," she said before closing the call in front of Salsola's face, while she was about to pay attention to her, trying to get to know more about her quest.
