Chapter 7 I'm not interested in you.
"Did I say that you could leave now?"
Richard looed at Pearl coldly. Then he continued, "I'm a businessman, I helped you, therefore you need pay back with something of the same value."
Pearl felt like she was suffocating. It took her some time to find her voice. "Then what do you mean?"
Richard's gaze fell on her badge. He mocked her, "Well, a well-known doctor like you could pour a glass of water for me, right?"
Pearl was taken aback. But she snapped back to her senses swiftly. "Yes, I could."
There was a water dispenser in this room. So she got back to him soon with a glass of water. "It's warm. I have tested it. So you can drink it now."
But Richard frowned at her.
"Don't get me wrong. I didn't drink it. I just felt the glass ."
After just saying this, Pearl began to regret for in fact Richard did not say anything at all now. She just explained directly. It felt like she had thought too much.
Richard did not get the water. On the contrary, he left her standing there.
"You're so considerate with your patients. No wonder your patient won't let you go."
Pearl's heart skipped a beat suddenly. She could hear the sarcasm in his words. Her heart sank, "Doctors can't choose patients. I'll put the water here. Drink it while it's warm."
She just placed the water on the table. Before she could turn around, a sharp pain came from her wrist. Richard suddenly tugged her so she fell on the bed.
"Ah!"
She cried as a figure pinned her on the bed.

She came to her senses. But Richard's face was right in front of her. It had been seven years but his face stayed the same. Yet, the anger was visible among eyes. He hissed, "Pearl, seven years. Surely you've changed a lot. So you could love any man now, huh? Because you lack money after being kicked out by the Yonng family?"
His sarcastic voice pierced her ears. Surely the person you loved knew how to rub salt to your wounds.
Pearl struggled to get rid of him. But he gripped her even tighter. She turned red from anger, so she shouted, "Let me go."
"Angry?" Richard snorted. He used his fingers to brush her forehead. He seemed reminiscing the time he spent with her.
But in the end, he pinched her chin mercilessly.
"Ow!" There was a sharp pain from the chin. Pearl scowled from it.
"Don't think so highly of yourself. I'm not interested in you. No wonder I have been feeling horrible. Even breathing the same air with you make me sick."
Richard's remarks were like a hammer on her heart. He was striking the most vulnerable part of her heart.
Pearl clenched the bed sheet. She endured the pain. She forced herself to be composed. Then she replied indifferently, "Well, if you're not interested, what are you doing now, Mr. Zellweger? And don't forget, you're getting married next month. If someone sees this, they might misunderstand this..."
Richard's face darkened for Pearl were so calm.
After seven years, she did not feel any guilty for her leaving. She spoke so confidently as if nothing happened.
Thinking of that, Richard felt something burning in his chest. He tightened his grip on her. He sneered, "But seven years ago, when you eloped with someone, you didn't seen to care much about your reputation?"
Pearl did not know reply this. ☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐☐
