My Wolf and I

Chapter 38 ✔

AIDEN

I stretched my arms above my head as I began to wake up. I smiled at the arm that was wrapped around my waist and the hand on my stomach. Jayvee was still soundly sleeping behind me.

As much as I would’ve loved to stay in bed all morning, Bean was using my bladder as a pillow, and I had to pee. I shook Jayvee’s arm to try and wake him up. He growled lowly, one that wouldn’t be threatening to me or Galaxy, but anyone else would’ve pissed their pants.

Before I could have said anything, Hami slammed the bedroom door open. Jayvee jumped up from the bed in front of me, his stance was wide, and he was ready to attack.

“I told you! Aiden, you are not safe here! His kind cannot be trusted!” He yelled angrily. The noise caused Galaxy to cry from her room next to ours. I silently got up from the bed and went to my daughter, knowing that Jayvee would let Hami have a piece of his mind.

I walked into Galaxy’s room to see her standing up in her crib. She had a firm grip on the side and was shaking it angrily. “Ma!” She cried as tears ran down her face.

I went to pick her up but stopped when I felt a hand on my shoulder. “I’ll get her, you shouldn’t be picking her up,” Jay said as he passed me and picked up Galaxy.

“We should get her a bed; she was just about to rip the crib apart when I came in.” I laughed.

He nodded and said, “We can go out today and get one.”

As we walked into the kitchen, I saw Hami silently sitting at the island. He was looking down, but I could tell that he had just stopped crying. I tapped his shoulder and gestured for him to follow me.

I lead us to Galaxy’s room and spoke as I put together her outfit for the day. “I know that you mean the best, Hami. But you need to understand that Jayvee is the father of this child. He would never do anything to hurt them or me. Trust him. Don’t trust him. I honestly don’t care. But you are going to stop voicing that opinion or you will no longer be welcome in our home. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Aiden. I’m sorry. I just want to protect the baby. I don’t know what it is, there’s just something inside me saying that Jayvee can’t be trusted. But I’ll be quiet about it and silently keep watch as the baby comes into the world.” He said softly and smiled up at me. I sighed and shook my head.

“Absolutely not. Jayvee and the doctor are going to be the only ones in the delivery room with me. Bean coming into the world is special and I only want to experience it with my mate.” I said calmly before walking about of the room with clothes in my hand.

I dressed in light blue overalls with a long-sleeved gray shirt underneath, and black converse. Galaxy was in yellow overalls with a white shirt underneath, and white shoes. Jayvee, as much as I wanted him to, wasn’t wearing overalls. He was in black jeans, a white t-shirt, and a leather jacket.

I had one hand on my stomach with my other in Jayvee’s hand. He was holding Galaxy in his other arm. People smiled at us as we walked through the store.

I pulled us to a stop as we came to the bed section. Jayvee put her down as I began to speak. “Alright, Galaxy. We are going to get you a big girl bed, so I want you to pick something that you like, okay?” She nodded excitedly and went to look at the beds.

She walked down the aisle looking at each of the different beds. She walked past an employee and stopped in front of a bed that looked like the frame of a house. It was white and had guard rails all around it except for one part at the foot of the bed.

Galaxy looked back at us, she had a hand on the bed and said, “Dis.”

The employee stepped up to Galaxy and said, “That’s a pretty grown-up bed, are you sure you don’t want something with princesses? Or something pink?”

I calmly walked up to the employee and said, “If my daughter wants a grown-up bed, then she can get a grown-up bed. Your opinion on it doesn’t matter because you aren’t the one that is going to be sleeping in it every night. So kindly don’t tell my daughter what she should or shouldn’t like.” My tone was calm, but it was easy to tell that I was seconds away from going feral.

The employee didn’t say anything and shrunk in on herself as she walked away quickly. I blew a puff of air out of my nose in anger at her back.

I smiled brightly down at Galaxy, who looked up at me with a curious stare. “Let’s go pick out some bedding while Daddy pays for your bed.” Galaxy grinned and started to gently pull on my hand to get us to move.

Jayvee put a hand around my waist and whispered in my ear. “I told you not to call me that, it’s a boner killer.” then turned to Galaxy, “I’m Da, not daddy alright Star?”

Galaxy stopped pulling and looked at Jayvee. She smiled sweetly, nodded, and said “Da!”
