Chapter 1099 Many Missed Calls
Erin shook her head violently and yelled with disbelief, "No! No!"
She didn't believe that her grandpa wasn't as important to Julien as Sydney.
Erin's unwillingness to accept reality didn't surprise Mr. Guzman.
After all, this woman had previously been convinced that her grandfather was very important to Julien. That was why Erin dared to be so high and mighty and promise that even if Mr. Guzman angered Julien by messing with Sydney, she would protect him from Julien's retaliation.
That was a kind of stupid confidence.
The funny thing was that Mr. Guzman had really believed this woman's bullshit before.
"I can't help it if you don't believe it," Mr. Guzman sneered. "But that's the truth. Your grandfather just isn't as important to Julien as Sydney, not to mention you. So do you think Julien will let you off the hook after what you've done and that your grandfather will be able to protect you?"
Erin was dumbfounded.
If her grandpa was not important to Julien, Julien naturally wouldn't let her go.
And her grandpa couldn't protect her either.
When she thought of this, Erin panicked and gasped, but she said, "No, it's not true. Julien won't target my family. It won't happen!"
Listening to Erin's words, Mr. Guzman became impatient. "Just wait and see. You'll find out soon, but by that time, your family may have already been destroyed, and all of this is because of you, Erin. If the McDaniel family is brought down in the end, will your father and grandfather still spoil you as they do now? I'm sure they won't."
"Bullshit! Bullshit!" Erin couldn't hold back any longer. She stood up on the bed, put the cell phone in front of her, grasped it tightly with both hands, and yelled at the cell phone with a fierce look.
Mr. Guzman snorted, "Whatever you say. You are willing to immerse yourself in a false world and refuse to face reality. That's your business, but let me tell you. You promised in the beginning, if this matter was known by Julien and the others, you could protect me from their retaliation. So Erin, now is the time for you to honor your promise. I just need you to get me out of the police station, no matter what method you use. Do you hear me? If you don't do that, don't blame me for exposing all the dirty things you've done. If you don't believe me, just try it."
"You..." Erin's face once again changed greatly. As she was about to say something, the cell phone screen changed from the call interface to the main menu.
The phone had already been hung up by Mr. Guzman.
Erin was so angry that she wanted to throw the phone away.
But then she thought of something and held back. She gritted her teeth with a twisted face and murmured, "How dare you threaten me! Just wait!"
Erin had always been flattered.
Mr. Guzman was the first to threaten her.
She definitely would not let him go.
Just now, Mr. Guzman said that he was in the police station and wanted Erin to get him out.
That was his wishful thinking.
Erin would not get him out. Instead, she would let him stay in jail for the rest of his life.
She thought, 'Just wait and see!'
However, this matter could be done later. Now it was imperative for Erin to figure out whether Mr. Guzman had lied.
'Has this matter really been exposed?
'Is Grandpa really not that important to Julien?
'Is Julien really going to deal with my family?'
These were the things that Erin wanted to know the most. She couldn't feel at ease until she figured them out.
Taking a deep breath, Erin was ready to go online to see what was going on in her country.
Last night, before she went to bed, she saw the situation on the Internet, which was proceeding toward what she wanted, so she dared to rest with peace of mind.
But never did she expect that only a few hours later, the situation would change drastically.
Therefore, she must find out what was going on and whether Mr. Guzman had lied to her.
Exhaling lightly, Erin calmed down and prepared to surf the Internet.
However, just at that moment, Erin suddenly saw the notification bar on her cell phone. It showed she had missed calls.
Erin hurriedly pulled down the notification bar, and when she saw the notification of missed calls, her heart instantly thumped.
There were actually so many missed calls from her parents.
They both called her at least three times.
She hadn't answered a single one of them because her phone was on silent.
She took Mr. Guzman's call because she had just come back from the bathroom and just laid down on the bed when she saw her phone light up. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been picked up.
Her parents called her so many times last night.
This was obviously very abnormal.
Something big must have happened.
If not, her parents wouldn't have tried to contact her at the same time.
Looking at these missed calls, Erin felt anxious again.
She took a deep breath and temporarily put aside the idea of checking online to see what was going on. She then called her dad.
Perhaps the person on the other end of the line had been waiting for her call, so the phone was answered the moment she called.
"Hey, Erin, what were you doing? Why did you call back so late?" A middle-aged man's disgruntled voice was heard, and his tone was a bit urgent. Erin pouted, instantly unhappy.
At the same time, she felt aggrieved.
Her dad and grandpa always doted on her and spoke to her gently.
Her dad had never questioned her in such a harsh tone before.
This made her very upset. She felt that her dad had changed.
"I was sleeping. What else could I do? It's not like I'm at home. I'm abroad, and it's nighttime over here." Erin stomped her foot and spoke in a very impatient tone.
The middle-aged man didn't get angry when he heard his daughter's grumpy voice.
After all, it wasn't the first time that his daughter had talked to him like that.
Every time his daughter spoke like this, he had to appease her.
This time was no exception.
"Sorry, Erin. I was so anxious that I forgot about it. Don't be mad at me," the middle-aged man coaxed her.
Erin grunted and reluctantly forgave him. She then said, "Dad, what's going on? Why did you and Mom call me so many times? And you even forgot about the time difference. Is something wrong?" Hearing his daughter's question, the middle-aged man sighed, "Erin, you're in trouble this time."
Erin's heart fluttered in a panic.
'I got my family in trouble?
'Then what that fat guy said is...'
"Dad, I... What trouble did I make?" Erin asked in fear as she held her cell phone in one hand and grabbed her clothes with the other.
The middle-aged man let out another sigh. "Erin, your grandpa and I know you like Julien, and we are very supportive of you being with him. If so, our family can maintain prosperity, but we didn't ask you to do it so hastily and use such a method."
