Chapter 70
Read My Past is Just Prologue By Louisa Dillon Chapter 70 - Kneel down and Reflect on Himself
Janet didn't expect that she would actually meet Nathaniel here.
Before she came, she had thought that she couldn't be so unlucky to meet Nathaniel.
And yet a coincidence just came.
Janet put on a long face and looked away expressionlessly.
Albert hurriedly greeted Nathaniel and opened the door for him. "Mr. Webster, it's so good you came back. Old Mr. Webster talked about you today! Mrs. Webster is also here, and she brought a lot of gifts for old Mr. Webster."
"Oh?"
Nathaniel glanced at Janet's red fingers made by the gift boxes and paused for a moment.
He also didn't expect to meet Janet here.
His grandpa always asked Janet to accompany him when he was in poor health or in a bad mood. But today... Did she watch the live broadcast and decide to come?
But Nathaniel didn't speak, neither did Janet. The atmosphere was a little awkward for a moment.
Albert looked at the two people and then mediated, "Oh, it's getting dark soon. Let's get into the house!"
Nathaniel got out of the car with the gifts in his hand. He walked slowly to Janet's side, looked down at this petite woman, and
said, "Give them to me."
"Mr. Webster, I'll take care of these things. You and Mrs. Webster may get in!"
"Mrs. Webster," Albert said, making Janet feel a little embarrassed.
Nathaniel seemed to notice the awkwardness of Janet, he then stretched out his hand and took the things in Janet's hand away. "Don't bother. Grandpa may not be in a good mood today. Perhaps he will feel better after seeing the stuff."
Janet didn't realize it. Seeing that Nathaniel was still trying to carry the pile of gifts on the ground, she frowned and said,
"Those things are not light."
She lost the joy she once had when she was talking to him, and her tone was even and steady.
"It's fine."
Nathaniel originally thought that Janet just didn't want to trouble him. But as he picked them up, Nathaniel clearly felt the weight of those things.
"They are indeed heavy. Why did this woman bring things of so much weight?
How did she bring it here?" thought Nathaniel.
"Well, as you please." Janet's tone was a little cold.
Janet couldn't be clearer about the weight of the gift she brought. If it were in the past, she might have stepped forward to
share the burden with Nathaniel. But today, she suddenly didn't want to do this anymore.
Since Nathaniel proposed to take them for me, just let him do it!
Albert noticed that the atmosphere between the two was a bit cold, and Janet didn't seem to have a wish to help Nathaniel, so
he consciously stepped forward to help Nathaniel.
"Mr. Webster, let me do this."
"No need." Nathaniel rejected Albert's offer.
He didn't believe that Janet would not care about him at all.
In fact, Janet did silently look at Nathaniel.
It was the first time Nathaniel knew Anastasia's true face, and he must have felt very distressed. The woman, who he would love to marry regardless of the opposition of the family, actually brought him more scolding.
More than that, it would bring much trouble to the Webster Group....
Janet could even see the dark circles under his eyes.
But what did this have to do with her?!
Janet ignored Nathaniel in front of her, shrugged, and followed Albert's footsteps. "Albert, how is Grandpa doing today?"
"He's doing OK, but just a little angry."
Albert walked in the front at a fast speed, trying to leave a two-person space for Nathaniel and Janet.
Nathaniel had also been waiting for Janet's reaction.
Donahue showed up at his wedding and made such a scene today. Shouldn't she say something and explain it to him?
Moreover, at this time in the past, Janet must have been so enthusiastic about him. But now... Janet just walked forward with a calm expression, without even looking at him. Nathaniel felt inexplicably disappointed.
"Mr. Webster, Mrs. Webster, please wait here for a while, and I will tell old Mr. Webster."
When they arrived at the gate of the villa, taking into account the mood of old Mr. Webster, Albert could only let the two of
them wait outside for a while.
Janet nodded, and Nathaniel had no objection.
Since Janet didn't take the initiative to speak, Nathaniel wouldn't say anything more. Since they had already divorced, they didn't have much to talk about.
"Old Mr. Webster, Mr. Webster and Mrs. Webster are waiting outside. They have bought a lot of presents for you!"
As soon as Albert entered the door, he hurriedly reported the situation.
"Hmph! That's what the brat should have done! I'd be too embarrassed to enter the door if I were him! Let him kneel outside
and reflect on himself!"
At the thought of Nathaniel, old Mr. Webster couldn't hold back his anger, and he couldn't wait to go out and teach Nathaniel at good lesson. "Take Jill in first. It's cold outside, and she's not in good health."
