Chapter 23
Chapter 023 Little
Fiona’s improving medical skill Lorraine's remark reminded Annette of something that extinguished the ruthlessness in her
eyes. She looked up from the phone to meet the guilty face of Lorraine, suddenly beamed.
Her good-looking eyes emitting rebellion, she said casually, "OK, that's the deal. You will have to do my homework for me if we go
to school together."
Lorraine pouted her mouth at that remark.
All right, it was already a success that Annette would like go to school.
As for the homework, OK, Lorraine would do it for her.
Lorraine just couldn't wait one more minute.
"Let's get back to Livingston right now."
Having an almost cloying dried strawberry in the mouth, Annette replied with her cold black eyes, "No need to be back to
Livingston.We will go to Shiveport."
"Why?"
Lorraine felt perplexed.
"My parents passed away in an accident half a month ago."
"What?"
Lorraine's face turned pale.
"And why?"
"An accident."
Annette gave her short answer expressionlessly.
Lorraine’s heart was beating violently.
"Then what about Joanne and Wancy?"
"No need to worry about that.I will just find a school in Shiveport and go to school with you."
Annette sounded so chilly when mentioning her late parents, and her eyes were so bland and deep, just exhibiting some wicked
coldness from her slightly slanting corners of eyes.
Since it seemed Annette wouldn't give away any further information, Lorraine stifled the question in her heart, "H'm, then I'll go
packing."
"OK."
Annette then finished the two plates of dried fruits.
Looking at the girl busy with her luggage, Annette brought up the topic casually, "Lorraine, anywhere uncomfortable after the
Operation?"
She couldn't see Lorraine's facial expression from the back, just hearing her relaxed voice, "Nope.Everything is fine.Artificial
intestine works much better than fecal collectors and pouches , and I can go to the toilet just like normal people now."
Staring at Lorraine's back, Annette tired to confirm she wasn't going with any possible sign of trembling, stiffening or emotional
collapse.
She then looked back to her phone. Her conversation with Vianne put a presumptuous smile on her face. She was wondering
,too, who would be the superior one — she or Waynett? The Lancaster House.
The old madam opened her eyes.
The shadowy forms in the front gradually turned clear after she blinked her loose eyelids.
Fiona was whispering with the army medics, watching the data from the equipment.
One of the medics noticed old Mrs Lancaster woke up through his occasional glance.
"Miss Lancaster, old madam wakes up."
Fiona turned round immediately. Her eyes popping in excitement, she trotted to the bedside and held the wrinkled hand with her
reddened eyes.
"Grandma!"
Old Mrs Lancaster still sounded authoritative despite extremely weakness, "Why are your crying? I haven't died yet."
"Don't curse yourself!" Fiona said reproachfully with her wet eyes.
"You don’t know I almost thought I would lose you in spite of every effort I've made."
Something complicated flickered in the medics’ downcast eyes.
So Fiona was determined to take credit for curing her grandmother, while none of the medical authorities from all over the world
was able to reverse this disease.
This successful case was to let Fiona shock the global medical circle and bring her to the road to fame and fortune.
Old Mrs Lancaster watched her granddaughter amiably.
"Thank you, Fiona. My little Fiona’s medical skill has improved greatly."
Fiona smiled a modest smile, lip lightly shut.
