Chapter Mute 14
Caspian’s POV
The hall buzzed with activity as pack members filed in, their voices mingling in a lot of concerns and grievances.
I sat upon the Alpha Throne, my gaze sweeping over the gathered crowd, my mind already bracing itself for the litany of issues that would be laid at my feet.
Ellen sat amongst the audience, her presence a silent reminder of the rift that had formed between us.
Ever since the incident with Aria, she had been distant, her eyes clouded with hurt and
resentment.
I knew I had to make it right with her, but for now, I chose to focus on the matters at hand.
As the pack members formed a queue, each waiting their turn to speak to me, I prepared myself for the onslaught of grievances. One by one, they approached, their voices raised in frustration and desperation.
As the pack members approached, their voices filled with worry and frustration, I leaned forward, my brow furrowing in concern as I listened to their grievances.
“My crops have been failing,” the farmer lamented, his shoulders slumping with the weight of his troubles. “I don’t know what to do.”
I met his gaze with empathy, offering a reassuring nod. “I understand your concern. Let’s discuss possible solutions to improve your crop yield.”
Next in line, another member stepped forward, their expression tense with anxiety. “I’ve been having trouble with rogue wolves encroaching on our territory.”
My jaw tightened at the mention of rogue wolves, a flicker of anger flashing in my eyes. “We’ll address this issue swiftly. I’ll deploy a patrol to reinforce our borders and ensure the safety of our territory.”
With each concern voiced and addressed, I remained steadfast, my focus unwavering as I offered guidance and reassurance to the troubled members of my pack. Despite the weight of their burdens, I was determined to find solutions and ease their worries.
Amidst the flurry of activity, my gaze occasionally flickered to Ellen, a pang of guilt gnawing at my conscience. I knew I had hurt her, and I was determined to make

amends, but for now, I had to prioritize the needs of the pack.
As the day wore on, the queue gradually dwindled, the last of the pack members dispersing with a sense of relief and gratitude. I remained seated upon the throne, my thoughts turning to the task ahead.
Turning to Ellen, I caught her eye, a silent promise reflected in my gaze. Though we may be at odds for now, I vowed to make things right between us. For the sake of our pack, and for the sake of our future together.
After my father’s visit and his reminder to mend things with Ellen, I knew I had to make things right. She was not only my chosen Luna but also my intended wife. Despite the tension that lingered between us, I was determined to fix our relationship.
I sought Ellen out, finding her in her quarters, her expression guarded as she met my gaze. “Ellen,” I began, my tone gentle yet firm. “We need to talk.”
She regarded me warily, but nodded, gesturing for me to continue.
“I know things have been strained between us,” I admitted, my voice tinged with regret. “But I want to make things right. You’re important to me, and I don’t want us to be at odds with each other.”
Ellen’s features softened slightly, though skepticism still lingered in her eyes. “What do you propose?” she asked, her voice cautious.
“I propose we start over,” I suggested, offering her a small, tentative smile. “Let’s put the past behind us and focus on building a stronger relationship, both as Alpha and Luna, and as partners in life.”
Though hesitant at first, Ellen eventually nodded, a glimmer of hope flickering in her eyes. “I’m willing to try,” she admitted softly.
Relief washed over me as I realized that perhaps there was still hope for us. With determination in my heart, I knew that I would do everything in my power to ensure that our relationship flourished and that Ellen felt valued and cherished as my chosen Luna.
But then, the thought of a familiar hazel eyes stirred up indescribable emotions within me and made a dull pain spread through my chest.
I knew that letting go of Aria was the only option. My father’s words reverberated in my mind, urging me to do what was best for the pack, even if it meant sacrificing my own desires.

With a heavy heart, I made the decision to grant her wish, to release her from the binds of our pack. It was the right thing to do, even if it tore me apart inside. As Aria stormed out of my study, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of regret, a sense of loss that threatened
to consume me.
Turning to face Ellen, I forced a smile, attempting to mask the turmoil raging within me. But even as I looked at her, I couldn’t shake the feeling of emptiness that settled
over me.
As Ellen’s gentle touch enveloped my arm, her warmth seeping into my skin, I felt a fleeting sense of calm amidst the storm of emotions racing within me. “Caspian, let’s go for a walk in the fields. It’ll help clear your mind,” she murmured softly, her voice soothing my unsettled thoughts.
But before I could even consider her offer, Elijah’s sudden arrival shattered the peace of the moment, his urgency evident in the air. “Caspian, it’s Aria,” he gasped, his words tumbling out in frantic bursts. “She’s… she’s in trouble.”
My heart skipped a beat at Elijah’s words, a surge of panic gripping me as I struggled to comprehend the weight of the situation. “What do you mean? What’s happened to her?” I demanded, my voice betraying the fear that clawed at my chest.
Elijah’s breath came in ragged gasps as he struggled to relay the harrowing news. “Aria… she’s been attacked. Brent’s men… they found her. She’s hurt, Caspian. Badly.”
The world seemed to grind to a halt as Elijah’s words echoed in my ears, a cold dread settling over me like a suffocating blanket.
Without hesitation, my body responded instinctively, the familiar sensation of my wolf form clawing its way to the surface as adrenaline surged through my veins.
In an instant, I was consumed by the primal urge to protect, my senses honed in on the faint scent of Aria’s distress.
With every fiber of my being, I propelled myself forward, racing through the corridors of the packhouse with a singular purpose burning bright in my mind: to find Aria, to ensure her safety at all costs
As I approached the outskirts of the pack, the murmurs grew louder, forming noises

My heart pounded in my chest, each beat echoing the urgency of my mission. As I pushed through the gathering crowd, their whispers intensified, painting a grim picture of the scene ahead.
“The poor girl, attacked and left for dead…”
“…thank the Moon we arrived when we did…”
“…the rogues were relentless, but we drove them off…”
My mind raced, of fear and dread threatening to consume me whole. Aria.
The thought of her in danger ignited a primal fury within me, pushing me forward with reckless abandon.
The crowd parted before me like a sea of startled prey, their eyes widening in shock as I tore through their midst.
And then I saw her, lying crumpled on the ground, a fragile bleeding girl.
Then I realized the truth. It wasn’t her. It was someone else. Another omega, battered and broken, her pain etched into every line of her face.
My breath caught in my throat as the pieces fell into place.
Elijah’s misinterpretation of the news had led me astray, a cruel twist of fate that left me
upset.
But even as I cursed his name under my breath, a new wave of dread washed over me. If this poor soul had been attacked by rogues, then what of Aria? Aria who was set to leave my pack today?
Panic clawed at the edges of my consciousness, threatening to consume me whole.
I couldn’t just stand idly by, waiting for news that may never come.
With a snarl of frustration, I shifted, the transformation a primal release of pent-up energy.
As fur replaced skin and muscle coiled beneath sleek, ebony fur, I let out a commanding roar that rang through the place.
“Where is Aria?” My voice was a thunderous growl, demanding answers from the silent onlookers who had s****ed in fear.
