Mr. Webb Make Your Move! by Tammy Chapter 2

Chapter 2

After the party ended, Zara made sure each client was safely in their car. Once she was done with that, she leaned against a telephone pole by the roadside. She was drenched in sweat all over, and she could not tell which parts of her were throbbing in pain.

Her lipstick had smudged off, leaving her lips pale and lifeless.

Yosef’s driver, who was aware of her relationship with Yosef, noticed that there was something strange about her. He hurriedly offered, “Ms. Lowry, do you want to hop in first?”

Zara nodded and clambered into the back seat. A couple of minutes later, the car door swung open again. Yosef and the woman were outside, looking like they were about to get into the car. They did not expect Zara to be inside.

Yosef’s brows creased in irritation. He was seemingly blaming her for occupying the seat.

The woman hurriedly opened the door to the front passenger seat while murmuring, “Mr. Webb, I’ll sit in front.”

With a thud, Yosef closed the door. “Let’s drop Beatrice off first.”

Zara closed her eyes. She was feeling very weak. Drinking on the fourth day after her miscarriage was definitely not great for her health.

They pulled up to a run-down apartment complex. Zara was half-asleep when Yosef gave her a prod.

“The alley is dark and unsafe. Walk Beatrice up to her place.”

Beatrice’s eyes sparkled like stars, even in the dim interior of the car. “No worries, Mr. Webb. Ms. Lowry looks really tired. I walk down this path every day, and it’s no biggie. I’ll be fine on my own.”

She swung the car door open, stepped out of the car, and gave a crinkly-eyed smile at Yosef while holding the door frame. “You should take Ms. Lowry home, Mr. Webb. Good night.”

Yosef’s frosty expression seemed to thaw as he nodded. “Yeah, good night.”

Zara kept silent the whole time.

The driver was Yosef’s confidant, and he did not immediately bring Zara home. He understood what Yosef meant with one look and drove directly to East Coast, where Yosef lived.

The two of them entered the house together. Before Zara could flick on the lights, she found herself pinned against the door. Yosef’s lips met hers in a rush, his hand boldly sliding under her skirt.

Zara was stunned for a moment. She quickly caught his hand and said, “Hold on… I’m not really feeling well today.”

Undisguised disappointment immediately showed on Yosef’s face. He muttered, “Just take a taxi home.” Then, he strode to the dining room.

Zara turned on the lights and saw him grab a water bottle from the fridge. Tilting his head back, he gulped it down. His Adam’s apple bobbed, making him look sexy and mature.

As the only heir to the Webb family, he was usually the picture of perfection. However, at this moment, there was an obvious bulge in his suit pants that diminished his polished image.

He would only whisk her away to East Coast when he needed to meet his physical needs. This was the agreement between them after he ‘bought’ her three years ago.

Zara did not budge. Instead, she sauntered over to him and teased, “If you’re that desperate, why’d you let Beatrice go? I thought she caught your eye?”

Yosef did not deny it, but he smiled half-heartedly. “You picked up on that, huh?”

As if she could have missed it… Zara’s voice was a low whisper. “When did it happen? And what’s her role?”

Yosef’s voice softened at the mention of Beatrice. “I met her at Starville University recently. She’s an art major, and she doesn’t know anything. I thought I’d let her start off as an assistant.”

Zara’s smile was bitter. While she was in the hospital due to a miscarriage, he was busy getting close to a university student.

She stretched out a finger, placing it on the lapel of his shirt before stroking him. Her beautiful eyes contained an ambiguous gaze. “College girls are great, aren’t they? So pristine, so moldable.”

“She’s fine just the way she is,” Yosef countered. He captured her chin, his thumb tracing her lips. His voice was hoarse when he said, “Not everyone can be molded to be like you… You said you’re not up for it today? We could always use another part of you…”
