Mr. Powell Is Hunting for His Wife

Chapter 8: Familiar fragrance

"Mr. Gibson, do you have anything else you want to inform me? If no, please tell me what's my job today, and the location of the office." Diana blinked and pretended that she did not see Harper's little action. Harper reacted and took Diana to her office. It was right next to Brooklyn's president office.

"Miss Miller, this would be your office from now on. Do familiarize yourself with the work procedures first. I've made a list of Mr. Powell's preferences and put it on your office desk. Please do avoid the things Mr Powell dislikes during work, or else you would definitely get fired!"

Diana nodded to show that she would read through the list and remember Brooklyn's preferences. After Harper left, Diana stared at the thick pile of documents regarding Brooklyn's preference on the office desk. She pouted and felt speechless. She pushed the documents aside and opened the parcel. It was indeed the sample perfume Mirabelle sent her.

As a perfume maker, Diana had her own sense of pride. She would never copy other's perfume. If the perfume sent by Mirabelle was the work of famous people, she would not go against her principle even though she had received her money and she wanted to take vengeance on her.

She opened the perfume bottle and smelled. Her pupils instantly constricted. That smell! Afraid that her nose had gone wrong, she concentrated and smelled once again. She inevitably wrinkled her eyebrows and her face became serious.

The perfume sample Mirabelle sent her was exactly the perfume Harley specially made for her when she was with her in the village many years ago. A single smell would purify one's mind. Harley had deliberately prepared a few bottles for her before she went back to the Moss's.

Diana saw those bottles of perfume as precious treasures. Yet due to being tricked by Mirabelle, the perfume bottles Harley gave her had fallen into Mirabelle's hands as expected. After all these years, it was afraid that Mirabelle had finished all the perfume. Since she was addicted to the smell, she could only ask help from the world famous perfume-maker, Anna Miller.

Mirabelle was not dumb, she knew the only person in this world who could still make the same perfume would be Anna. Yet she would never expect that Anna Miller, the perfume-maker reputable worldwide was actually her sister whom she wanted to kill many years ago, Diana Moss!

A cold light flickered in Diana's clear eyes. She opened the laptop and found Mirabelle's email address within seconds. "I've received the sample, do you want me to make the exact same perfume based on the sample?" Diana wore a false smile. If Mirabelle wanted her to make an exact same perfume, it would not just be to use it for her own that easy.

Her conjecture was soon verified. Mirabelle replied her: Yes, I need the perfume to have calming and sleep induction effects when men smell it. Men? Diana instantly got the point. The man who could make Mirabelle so anxious to pay huge amount of money to ask her to make perfume would only be Brooklyn.

Diana sneered. Her sister had indeed spent so much effort to become the daughter-in-law of the Powell family. Since she had known the purpose of Mirabelle asking her to make perfume, she would not mind to let her have a taste of the feeling of being betrayed and losing money at the same time.

Harper returned to his own office after leaving Diana's office. As he sat down and started to work, he got an internal call shortly. Noticing it was from Brooklyn, Harper quickly picked it up without delay. "Is Anna here?" He heard Brooklyn's deep and cold voice. "Yes, I've taken her to the office next to yours as you ask. I think she's working now."

The room beside Brooklyn's office had been empty ever since Harper became his assistant. Did Brooklyn really value Anna that much? "Ask her to come to my office now." After finished, he hung up the call. Without further farewell, Harper immediately passed on Brooklyn's request to Diana.

Diana kept away the perfume sample in the drawer and smiled at him. "Thank you for coming all the way here to inform me, but I wonder the reason Mr. Powell looking for me."

"Mr. Powell didn't mention, please act accordingly." Harper secretly pitied her. He wondered whether Diana was able to handle the insanely tedious work given by Brooklyn or not. Diana knocked Brooklyn's office door. She then heard a deep man's voice. "Come in." Diana pushed the door open and entered.

Brooklyn was frowning while reading through the documents with care in the huge office. Noticing the commotion at the entrance, he put down the documents and looked up. Seeing Diana who was standing there, he spoke, "Sit."

"I wonder why Mr. Powell looks for me?" Diana sat on the couch gracefully and asked with a listenable voice. The couch was not far away from Brooklyn's office desk, and Brooklyn was sensitive enough to capture a sweet fragrance. He frowned and the smell instantly calmed his anxious mind down. He even had the urge to fall asleep. "What perfume are you wearing?" he asked without a second thought.

Diana was startled. What kind of question is that? The reason he asked her to come over is just to ask what perfume she is wearing? Diana pursed her lips and said flirtatiously, "Oh come on, Mr. Powell. As a perfume maker, the perfume I wear is certainly the one I make."

Brooklyn frowned even more. The perfume smell from her body smelled familiar to him. He could not recall exactly where he smelled that before. He soon relaxed his eyebrows and crossed his arms. "You mentioned Mr. and Mrs. Hill yesterday, and you said you could secure the collaboration with them for the Powell's."

Diana slightly heaved a sigh of relief when she saw Brooklyn did not ask her further. The reason she could have the achievement today was not only her talent, but Harley's guidance too. If Mirabelle had frequently used the perfume Harley gave her, Brooklyn might notice the perfume fragrance on her being extremely similar to the one Mirabelle used.

Luckily Brooklyn did not carry on asking. She smiled and answered him in a modest pace, "Yes, Mr. Powell. I did say I could secure your collaboration with them." Brooklyn was not a man easy to be messed with. From him taking over the Powell Group and spending a few years to build a business empire, it was enough to witness his talent and determination.

Diana spoke confidently, "Mr. and Mrs. Hill have always been fascinated by perfume, and Hillvie is the biggest clothing brand in the world. If we need to collaborate with them, we could begin from these two, combining perfume and clothing perfectly." After finished, she stood up and slowly walked to his desk. She looked at her boss with clear eyes and in a superior way.

"And I, could make the perfume they love the most."000000
