Chapter 60

Chapter 60

It was around ten o’clock when Giselle started feeling a sharp pain in her stomach, and her gastrointestinal discomfort became increasingly apparent

It reminded her that something was off with her body

At first, Giselle didn’t pay much attention to it, thinking it was due to the barbecue she had eaten that night

She took a stomach pill she found in the medicine cabinet, hoping the discomfort would soon pass

However, as she lay in bed, the pain in her stomach worsened. She began to break out in a cold sweat and weakly called out Hymesname, Hymes”

Hearing her call from downstairs, Hymes immediately rushed upstairs, asking, What’s wrong?”

Giselle’s voice was weak, and her expression pained. I feel so sick”

Hymes didn’t hesitate. I’ll take you to the hospital.”

Ignoring Giselle’s protests, Hymes scooped her up in his arms

Fortunately, Giselle was wearing longsleeved pajamas. Otherwise, the close contact would have made her even more embarrassed

Hymes carried Giselle to the car, buckled her seatbelt, and gently wiped her sweaty forehead with his fingers. Where exactly do you feel uncomfortable?”

My stomachI think it’s gastroenteritis”

Okay, rest for a bit. We’ll be at the hospital soon.”

Hymes wasted no time, quickly driving out of the parking spot. Giselle, feeling unwell, was in a daze

She vaguely sensed that Hymes had made a phone call and said something, but she couldn’t quite make out the details

About twenty minutes later, they arrived at the nearest hospital, where Giselle was taken directly to the emergency room

After an initial examination, the diagnosis was indeed gastroenteritis. Giselle was given medication and needed an IV

treatment

When Giselle woke up, she found herself in a private hospital room

Hymes was sitting quietly by her bed, taking care of her

Noticing her awake, Hymes asked with concern and worry in his voice, Do you feel any better?”

Feeling less pain, Ciselle nodded. A bit betterThank you.”

We can’t give you water just yet. Once the IV is done, we can go home. Hymes brushed a stray strand of hair from Giselle’s face, sighing. What are you thanking me for?”

If it wasn’t for you, I don’t know what I would have doneGiselle’s voice was soft due to her illness. I should have listened to you and not eaten so much spicy food tonight…”

Hymes gently flicked her forehead. Be more careful from now on, okay? Don’t be reckless.”

Recalling the amount of chili peppers she had put in her bowl, Giselle shuddered, remembering how she had treated herself like the young, strongbodied person she once was

AlrightI’ll listen to you.”

Giselle fell asleep again shortly after. Hymes stayed by her bedside, waiting for her IV treatment to finish

Though there was a bed for him to rest on, he never left her side

When Giselle finally felt better and was ready to go home, the nurse praised Hymes. Your husband is such a good man, sitting by your side while you received your IV treatment.”

Giselle looked at him, puzzled. There was a bed. Why didn’t you sleep there?”

I was worried that you’d wake up and need me.”

Hymes held Giselle’s shoulders tightly. Let’s go. We’re going home.”

Late one night. Giselle had to go to the hospital and didn’t leave until dawn. Although she’d been dozing on and off, she still wanted to get home and have a proper sleep

Thankfully, Giselle was usually in good health. She had acute gastroenteritis, which was quite severe, but she felt much. better after receiving an IV treatment

Upon arriving home, Giselle urged Hymes to get some rest, assuring him that she was completely fine and didn’t need his

care

Hymes reluctantly agreed but reminded her to let him know if she needed anything

Giselle insisted that she was truly fine

At that point, her complexion had returned to normal, and Hymes finally felt at ease..

As Giselle prepared to sleep, she realized that Hymes had taken her to a private hospital

It was the closest one to her home, but she wouldn’t normally go there due to the high costs

After all, private hospitals were expensive, and Giselle couldn’t afford them

Considering the money spent on her treatment that night, she felt a bit guilty

She also remembered that Hymes hadn’t used her insurance card, which would have saved them some money

Giselle thought to herself that Hymes really didn’t know how to save, and she would have to discuss this topic with him in

the future

By the time she usually headed to work, Giselle was awake and decided not to take the day off

Seeing her come downstairs, Hymes frowned, asking why she wasn’t resting at home

Giselle playfully assured him that she was truly fine, having slept well during the IV treatment and waking up naturally without an alarm

Once she was dressed and Hymes had carefully assessed her condition, he reluctantly let her go

He placed a bowl of soup in front of her, reminding her coldly that he’d be delivering her lunch and to eat on time

Giselle insisted she always ate on time

Hymes nodded, already thinking about what to make for her lunch that would be good for her health

That morning, Hymes personally drove Giselle to work. Once they arrived at her office building, he repeated all the reminders he’d given her earlier

Giselle laughed, calling him a nagging old man

Hymes narrowed his eyes and gently pinched her face, asking who he was nagging for

Giselle playfully admitted it wasn’t intentional, promising to take better care of herself in the future

Hymes expressed his lack of confidence in her ability to care for herself

After making a playful face at him, Giselle quickly unbuckled her seatbelt, waved goodbye, and told him to drive carefully

As soon as Hymescar left, a coworker approached Giselle, asking if the man who had dropped her off was her husband

Giselle smiled and confirmed that he was

The coworker praised Hymes for his thoughtfulness, bringing Giselle lunch and driving her to work, calling him a loving husband

Giselle couldn’t help but show a happy smile, agreeing that he was indeed wonderful

Meeting Hymes was the luckiest thing that had happened to her in a long time

The coworker sincerely told Giselle that although she had ended her previous relationship, finding such a husband was a blessing

Giselle didn’t say anything, but she agreed in her heart, feeling lucky to have escaped a man who only wanted her for the social status she could provide

As soon as the coworker went upstairs, they spread the news, and soon everyone in the company knew that Giselle’s husband had dropped her off at work that morning

Mickey, who had just arrived at the office, heard people discussing the topic and his face immediately darkened
