Lola lay quietly on the large hod.

She was no longer in her wet clothes but had been changed into a beige long dress. Meanwhile, Dominick was wearing a white bathrobe and sitting beside her. He gently ran through Lola’s hair with one hand while holding a silent hair dryer with the other, slowly drying her hair.
Jay Allan, the docter, appeared to be around thirty years old, with voluminous hair and deep eyes.
As he observed the scars on Lola’s arm, his brows furrowed tightly. Some of her scars were old and had turned white. Meanwhile, others were reddish- brown, some were pale pink, and a few looked freshly healed, as if the wounds were recent.
After examining her, Jay looked up to see Dominick drying Lola’s hair and widened his eyes in surprise.
Jay spoke in fluent Arcanitian, asking, “Dominick, is she the girl you’ve always kept in your heart, the girl called Jessie?”
Upon hearing him mention Jessica, Dominick paused in his actions and then responded in Arcanirian, “She’s my wife, Lola. My only love in this life!
Jay exclaimed in disbelief, “What?!”
He then turned to look at Lola’s face again
it was only then that Jay realized she had an exquisitely beautiful face, more beautiful than any woman he had ever seen. Lola looked immaculately pure, especially now as she lay quietly on the bed. Her pale complexion resembled Sleeping Beauty, as if waiting for her prince to awaken her with a kiss
Aher a long while, Jay and Dominick finally left the bedroom
“Dominick, the situation seems more severe than I anticipated,” Jay sighed.
Dominick furrowed his brows and turned to look at Jay.

Jay continued to explain, “She must have experienced some trauma that led to a mental breakdown, or what we call a mental disorder, I found man scars, old and new, on her arms. She seems to have a tendency for self–harm, and it has been going on for about two years.”
Dominick was taken aback. “Two years?”
Jay nodded. “You said today that she chose to give up and let herself sink to the bottom of the sea when she couldn’t swim anymore, it clearly indicates that she has had suicidal tendencies.”
“I need a treatment plan,” Dominick said in a cool tone.
Jay shook his head and said with a grave expression, “No, no, no.
“What you need now is not a treatment plan, but to identify her source of trauma. You must try to prevent it from being triggered again. Her current condition is very dangerous as she is on the verge of collapse. She could fall into a deep sleep, have a mental breakdown, or go mad at any moment.”
At that, Dominick’s breathing hitched, and his heart skipped a beat.
He thought, ‘According to Ellie, when she and Wesley encountered Lola at the Carlton Restaurant, Lola already had wounds on her arms. This means that she already had tendencies for self–harm from that time, and I never noticed,”

At the
mention of the source of traum
Dominick suddenly remembered something, his expression changing and his body swaying, nearly falling
Upon seeing his pale complexion, Jay quickly asked, “What’s wrong, Dominick?”
Dominick steadied himself by grabbing onto the nearby handrail.
He asked, “Is there any way to treat her?”

Jay looked down to ponder. His expression then turned serious as he spoke. “The only thing we can do right now is to have someone she’s close to be with her every day, which could help stabilize her emotions. She already has suicidal tendencies, so we cannot let it be triggered again. Her mental state is very poor, and she’s at risk of collapsing at any moment.”
Dominick slightly furrowed his brows and thought, ‘Someone close to her? Lola was abandoned on the streets as a child and, and George, who had lost his beloved daughter, found her and brought her to Mitchell Villa. As far as I know, George book Lola back only because his wife was driven mad by the loss of their daughter. At the same age as the Mitchell family’s heiress, Lola could play the role of their lost daughter and soothe Mr Mitchell. Later, when the Mitchell family’s heiress was found, Lola became the redundant one at Mitchell Villa. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have suffered, run away from Mitchell Villa and met me
When thinking of someone close to Lola, Ethan’s face, the mysterious man whom Dominick knew nothing, for some reason suddenly flashed through Dominick’s mind. He could sense Ethan’s affection and indulgence for Lola. When Lola was taken away by Dominick, Ethan nearly turned Talondria upside down in his search for her. In order to force Dominick to hand over Lola, Ethan even risked provoking both the Sinclair and Moore families.
The Horizon Group, a corporation with a registered capital of over 20 billion dollars, had no actual projects. All its endeavors were merely for the sake of
reclaiming debts for Lola.
In other words, Ethan founded the Horizon Group solely for Lola
When Lola woke up and saw the clear blue sky and sea outside, she felt momentarily lost in time.
Meanwhile, Dominick, who was on the balcony, was dressed in a white shirt and comfortable lounge pants. He was sitting gracefully in a chair with a laptop on his lap, Dominick seemed to be looking down at something, possibly stuck on a difficult problem, with his eyebrows tightly furrowed. Beside him on the table was a pot of gardenia, its faint fragrance lingering in the air.
Lola glanced at him, looked away, and got up from the bed.
Dominick asked, “Are you awake?”
Upon hearing Lola getting up from the bed, he closed his laptop and came over. Dominick first patted Lola’s head, and taking advantage of her momentary daze, he picked her up and carried her to the bathroom.
Lola looked up at him and asked coldly. “Mr. Sinclair, what are you doing?”
“I’m taking you to the toilet,” Dominick said with a gentle smile on his face. His eyes were filled with doting affection, and his voice was incredibly soft,
with a hint of tentativeness.
Lola frowned upon hearing that
Aher placing her on the toilet, Dominick looked at his watch and said, “Call me when you’re done. I’ll be waiting outside”
Before Lola could react, he had already walked out, even closing the door behind him.
Her gaze darkened. After using the bathroom, Lola didn’t call Dominick. Instead, she stood barefoot on the floor and looked at her reflection in the mirror. Lola then saw her face, though beautiful, was somewhat pale, and her usually bright eyes had lost their sparkle.
When Dominick pushed the door open and saw Lola standing on the floor barefoot, he furrowed his brows slightly. He quickly walked over and lifted her onto the washstand
Dominick then took a cup and filled it with water. Afterward, he picked up a toothbrush, applied toothpaste, and held the cup to her mouth, indicating her to rinse.
Lola didn’t open her mouth but instead looked up at him and chuckled lightly, saying slowly, Dominick, I believe I had a message relayed to you through the servant that a belated affection is worth less than a dime!”
Upon hearing that, Dominick looked up at the woman with a cold expression before him. He then remembered the Lola of the past, the girl who always followed behind him with a bright smile. She was very quiet, so quiet that no one would notice her unless she spoke. Yet, having Lola around a
