Chapter 7
Vivianna brought her son into the hall and got into the elevator. Her assistant, Winslow, was waiting for her.
"I'll leave Zeph with you now. I am going to meet a client. Watch over him and don't let him run around," she said. "Okay, Miss Carlewood." Winslow accepted this job cheerfully.
Winslow was delighted to be with Zeph.
"Zeph, do you want candy? I can give you some." Winslow took two lollipops from her desk to tempt him.
However, Zephaniah's little face twitched. "I am no longer a child. I don't want candy."
"Not a child?" Winslow suppressed the urge to laugh and looked at this little boy. He was clearly a lovely child!
Vivianna went to her superior's office first. Her superior was a capable and strong woman in her forties. She was of mixed heritage, and her name was Linda. She was also a single mother who was divorced. Hence, she helped Vivianna a lot at the workplace and in life.
Vivianna admired her and also respected her.
As soon as Linda saw her coming in, she looked at her with a serious expression and said, "Vivianna, I have seen this customer. She's a picky and wealthy woman. She is quite difficult to deal with. Moreover, her requirements are also very high. The price that she paid for our services exceeded our expectations. You should be cautious. The company values this client very much."
"Don't worry! Leave it to me. I promise that I will complete the task well," Vivianna said confidently.
She was confident about her job because she loved it very much.
"Alright, I'll leave it to you. She is waiting for you in room six," Linda said.
"How should I address this customer?" she asked.
"Mrs. Lambert," Linda said.
The words "Mrs. Lambert" caused Vivianna's chest to become tense instantly. Her heart skipped a beat. She thought to herself, "This Mrs. Lambert must not be the person I am thinking about!" No, please don't be her. She still didn't want to see anyone from the Lambert family.
Vivianna prayed in her heart and reached the meeting room.
There was an assistant who was tasked with serving tea at the door. When the assistant saw her coming over, she opened the door for her.
Vivianna bit her lips, took a deep breath and stepped into the room.
When she looked up at the elegant woman sitting on the sofa, her heart stopped for a few seconds.
However, the person she didn't want to see the most was still in front of her. She really couldn't escape.
It was Jessamyn Salaway!
When she spotted Vivianna, she raised her eyebrows in surprise. Her red lips were raised, and she had an arrogant and mocking smile. "It's really you. I thought I saw the name wrongly."
Looking at Jessamyn's face, the events that happened four years ago flashed across her mind again. She was humiliated, insulted, driven away, and framed.
Vivianna clenched her fists tightly. She tried her best to forget about the past and suppress her resentment. She thought of her son. Now, she had no support or grounds to fight this group of people. Her curren desire was to live a good life with her son.
Vivianna loosened her fists and walked calmly toward Jessamyn. "Hello, Mrs. Lambert. My name is Vivianna Carlewood. I'm the jewelry designer you
appointed. What I can do for you?"
Jessamyn was startled when she noticed her calm expression. She stared at Vivianna in a piercing manner with her delicate eyes, as she tried to discern from her tranquil expression whether she was frustrated or embarrassed.
"Hmph, you're the former Mrs. Lambert, and you're now my jewelry designer. Do you know what occasion I hired you to design for? Xenophilius and I will be celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary. Two months after you left, I married him. Are you surprised?" she said.
"Mrs. Lambert, do you have any special requirements? Or do you want to fully hand over the draft of the design to me?" Vivianna ignored her words and asked her in a professional manner.
