Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 140
Jaylen's POV
We played for a while. I would have loved to react to my body by taking the play to another level but then it would be so selfish of me. She's pregnant and she needs to eat early. I carried her to the bathroom, bathed her and myself. We then both got dressed and went out of the room. I'm delighted to prepare her breakfast from the deer I caught this early morning. But then we got down, passing by the dining room to go to the kitchen, surprisingly we found a table filled with numerous dishes. This got me frowning. The last time I checked this was my house and I didn't let anyone in. "Who cooked this?" Sam asked.
I could hear female voices in my head. They were talking about when we were going to come down to eat. One of them sounded quite restless. "Come out!" I said with authority.
The two rushed out at my voice. Sam looked at me wondering how I knew that they were inside there. The two were the pack's maid. "Susan, Haley?" Sam called.
I wasn't surprised she knew them. She has worked in the pack house as a maid for some years.
"Alpha, Luna" they both bowed.
"Who let you into my house?" I frowned.
Sam squeezed my arm that she held with both hands gently.
The two looked at each other not knowing who to answer.
"I'm waiting!"
"It's your mother Alpha. She was the one who asked us to come here this morning to come take care of you" one of them said.
"She also said we are Luna's personal attending maids," the other added.
I frowned at them. I didn't know why my mother did this without telling any of us. I know she's with good intentions but I hate strangers in my home.
"It's nice having you here," Sam said with a sweet smile.
Sam has a very pure and good heart so she quickly warmed up to them. I was still looking at them with a grudge in my heart. I'm definitely going to talk to my mother about this. No one is allowed into my house. I don't need the maids she brought. Maybe at the pack house but not my personal house.
Sam poked my cheek when she saw that I was still frowning. I looked at her and she pushed her lower lips out blinking her eyes severally. This draws a chuckle from me. Then I smiled and pulled her nose. Sam hit my hand away and blushed. I brought out my tongue at her.
She dragged me so that we would go and eat. I was still feeling bad about them not allowing me to cook for my bride. I'm sure I'm going to send them back to the pack house. Just as we sat to eat, my mother walked in.
"That's good, just in time" she said happily as she walked towards us.
I don't know what that means but I haven't forgiven her for ruining my plan.
"Mom!" Sam called happily.
She stood up and went to hug her.
"My favourite. You've been doing well right?" She hugged her back.
"Yes mom and you?"
While hugging each other my mother was frowning at me. I know with that look I've offended her. Well that makes us even.
"How come you are just feeding her? Don't you know she needs to eat early husband?" She scolded me.
I chuckled at why she was frowning. It's just a few minutes past eight and she's already angry.
"No mom, I was the one who woke up late. Don't scold him" Sam said softly.
My mother shook her head cussedly.
"Don't take sides. Didn't he know that you would need to wake up early to feed your pup before he kept you awake all night" she glared at me.
I suddenly coughed at what she just said. I looked at her and raised my brow. Sam was already blushing at what she said.
"How did you know?" I pressed my lips together.
"Your father always has this satisfied look anytime he has used me all night and that's the same look you're wearing now".
The way she was talking shows that she was so sure of what she was saying. I couldn't help but chuckle with her look before I wore a serious look again.
"I'm not my father," I said blankly.
"Mom, be rest assured. Jay didn't do anything......"
"Ohhhhh" my mother exclaimed with an alarmed look.
With that look, I knew she had read another meaning to what Sam was trying to say.
"What did you mean he didn't do anything? It's your wedding night. Jaylen, don't tell me it is true" she wore an alarmed look.
I looked at her and shook my head. She's bent on making Sam burst into red colours today. She didn't even allow her to finish her sentence before she jumped into conclusion. I touched my head like someone who caught a headache. My mother can be such a drama queen. Sam's face was stained with embarrassment because of the misunderstanding that she couldn't even lift her head up when she talked.
"That's not what I meant mom. I'm trying to say that I'm getting lazier day by day, that's the reason I couldn't get up early like I used to" she said softly.
Red blush already stained her cheek.
"Oh" she said with a sheepish smile." That's normal darling".
"Tsk tsk tsk".
I gave her a mocking look and she glared at me.
"Can we eat now?" I asked her.
"Wait" she stops me by stretching out both hands.
I frowned. Even Sam, who was shy, concentrated on her.
"I brought you something," she said with excitement.
She took something out of the bag that I saw with her when she walked in. It was a parcel. She then placed it on the table. She pushed it towards Sam.
"Open it?" She said to her.
Sam quickly drew the parcel to herself and opened it. The first thing she brought out was a spoon. It was so beautiful. It looked like glass but seeing it dazzling, I know it's not glass but diamond.
"Mom, you've given us enough gifts. This must be very expensive" Sam said.
Looking at her face, I know she was so moved by the gift. She brought out beautiful cutleries and two cups from the parcel.
"No darling, nothing is enough for you. Moreover it's not from me. It's the first product of mine" she said with a smile.
"First product of mine?" Sam and I chorused while I raised my brow. Yes I know that the mine was near completion but I didn't know that they've started work. None told me that.
"Yes, testing the efficiency of the news machines, these are the first products. Because we all think it's too important to sell, we maid the diamonds into this for you as a wedding gift. It's a blessing to me," she replied.
I took the spoon and examined it. It's really a fine job. Not only diamond was used but also ruby. It's quite impressive.
"Isn't it beautiful?" My mother asked.
Sam nodded, also looking at the cup. She was smiling at it. I was loving the happiness in her eyes. It was so clear. This is how I want her to be every morning. With that smile, I noticed that her eyes were already glistening like the diamond she held. "Mom you've just made my wife cry" I said with a fake frown.
If she didn't get so emotional, she's not Sam. My mother looked at her and pressed her lips.
"Mom, don't mind him. I'm just so moved," she said with a smile, tapping my shoulder.
I just shrugged while my mother glared at me.
