Mistake With The Alpha Chapter 112
Jaylen's
POV
"Well, this is technology. Pictures can be photoshopped. This might be good evidence, but then it's not concrete one" Brock said.
"Your highness I swear I'm telling the truth. It's the woman" the boy shouted. "Silence!" Brock growled.
This made the boy move back. Everyone who was grumbling before shut their mouth. Another one with evidence came. This time it was a female. Although her story was similar, it had little difference. She said that she was inside when she heard a loud noise. She ran outside to what was happening and she saw her father wrestling with Sam. Since she was very scared and Sam was chanting incantations, she hid herself at a corner and filmed everything.
She stepped forward and showed us the video. It was truly Sam chanting. Now no one could deny that it wasn't Sam that was doing it. In fact it was even her voice. But then they all claimed that everything happened yesterday. It was only my father's own that happened this morning.
I don't know what in the name of the moon goddess is happening. Sam and I were in another world all through yesterday and this morning they claim they saw her killing people. I'm so confused here. My body was shaking so that if I dared to stand up or say anything, I might fumble.
This evidence is too much. I'm almost running mad. My mind was so clouded. I looked at Brock as he stood up from where he was sitting.
"Does anyone have any other evidence aside from the ones we've seen?"
No one responded. Brock then began to walk to where Sam was sitting pitifully. As she saw Brock coming, Sam looked so afraid and started to shift back. I wouldn't blame her for getting scared. Brock is a lycan prince and he has the ability to kill her in an instant and no one would dare to fight it. Even though I'm her Alpha.
I didn't know why Brock was going to her but I stayed calm. He had promised to help me solve this mystery of my life, so he wouldn't act rashly. Brock's footsteps stopped when he saw that Sam was moving back.
"Woman, you've heard all the accusations laid against you and all their evidence. What do you have to say for yourself?"
His voice was very calm as if to tell her that she shouldn't be scared. Sam didn't look up at all. In her heart she was saying what else did she have to say that they would believe.
"Your highness," my father called. "Accept my apologies for interrupting you but then what does this witch have in her wicked mouth to say?"
All the crowd talked in agreement with him. Brock looked at my father. If look could kill, the kind of look Brock gave him would have struck him dead now. Seeing Brock's reaction, my father moved back a bit and all the crowd silenced. "Speak!" Brock said to Sam.
"I didn't do it. I swear to your highness. I swear on my baby's life. I swear by the moon goddess" her little voice shook violently.
I could see that she was trying so hard not to shed tears.
"But then what about all that evidence?"
Now my voice was calm enough as I questioned her. She looked at me and bowed her head. It was only her flowing massive red hair that I could see. Her hair was already scattered. She hadn't had time to dress this morning before being dragged out. "Are they all lies?" I added.
I wanted her to talk.
"She's nothing but a witch!" Someone in the crowd shouted.
Brock and I glared in that direction. I wished I knew who said that so I could rip off the fool's head.
"Your silence means you've accepted all the accusations laid against you" I said. "No," she said quickly.
"Then defend yourself. Now it's your opportunity" Brock said.
I wouldn't mind if she had told them that she had been with me the whole day and where we were. Reading Brock's mind, I knew he wanted that too. But then Sam is always Sam. She didn't want them to know that I freed her from the prison and took her out. She felt it would be ridiculing me in front of others but I didn't care.
If she had had the courage to say it, I would have backed her up. Even Alvin and Ethan would have supported but then Sam didn't say it. She just sat there with her head bowed. Her little bulging stomach hid beneath that short gown she wore. All her white laps were showing for everyone to see.
Because I could see the people's mind, they thought of me as a weak Alpha. Some even thought that Sam was working for Brock because of how he seems to be defending her but none dare to voice it out. Even if they insult me, they won't dare do it to Brock. He is a lycan prince. He will devour them all.
Some of them thought I'm under the influence of magic. My father was so disappointed in me. He felt like I'm a disgrace to Alphahood. I never minded.
"I can't," Sam said. "All the evidence against me as usual seems true, your highness. What then do I have to say?" She asked sniffing.
Looking at all these people who gave evidence, they weren't lying either. Now what is going on. They really saw what they saw. Sam also wasn't in any way a witch. If she had been a witch, the first person she would kill was Allison. Allison was the one who made her suffer a lot. Remembering Allison, I looked around to see where she was. Then I noticed that she was right beside me. Seeing me looking at her, she placed her hand on my shoulders putting on a pitiful face.
"It's going to be fine" she said to me, through a mink link.
I had thought I would see a smug look on her face but then my vampire powers made me know that the look was real fake. She was really jubilating in her heart. I frowned but what then should I have expected from her. All these were to her favour. If Sam was killed now, I wouldn't have another choice than to make her my mate.
