Chapter 75 Building An Army

Upon seeing the three cards, a satisfied smile spread across Daniel's face. Having money was indeed useful, and these three cards would greatly benefit him, particularly Atlanteus, whom he had borrowed his name to be his teacher. This way, in case Ragnar investigates his previous lie, Daniel would have proof that he has some backup up his sleeves.
Now he just needs to open the remaining cards and put them to use. By increasing his power and building up a formidable force, even the Hightower would have to think twice before going up against him.
Daniel didn't wait and quickly opened the remaining cards. Among them were many powerful artifact cards, as well as numerous creature cards, especially sentient beings.
After several more minutes of opening and admiring the new cards, Daniel finished opening all the booster packs in the box he had bought. The feeling of repeatedly opening new booster packs was exhilarating, to say the least. He realized that he might become addicted to this feeling if he wasn't careful.
After finishing opening all the cards, Daniel said farewell to The Keeper. The Keeper seemed to have something on his mind, but he didn't say anything. He just waved back to Daniel before he left the shop and returned to reality
Daniel remembered that non-unique sentient creatures wouldn't have names and wouldn't know their identity beyond the present-day knowledge needed to survive and their necessary expertise. So he decided to call Maria from his safety room to help him.
He summoned the safety room door and went in, and what he saw was a scene no different from a university student party night.
Inside the safety room, Michaela was still in her pajamas, munching on popcorn and sipping on her favorite cola. Meanwhile, Maria was laughing like a maniac in front of her PC, furiously typing away and causing chaos and mayhem on the internet while enjoying it.
The moment Daniel appeared, Maria immediately stopped what she was doing and hastily cleared her throat, gathering her wits and fixing her disheveled hair and clothes to be more presentable. Meanwhile, Michaela was still engrossed in her K-drama marathon, either not noticing Daniel's presence or choosing to ignore him in favor of her show.
[Absolute loyalty my ass.] Daniel thought to himself, recalling the Keeper's words, saying that the creatures he actualized would have absolute loyalty to him.
Daniel considered playing a prank on Michaela, seeing how engrossed she was in her K-Drama, but ultimately decided against it. He realized that she didn't have to help him this time and that this was a moment where she didn't need to protect him. He thought of it as giving her the break she deserved.
"Maria, I'll give you 10 minutes to prepare yourself, then come out to help me register new people who will join us," said Daniel.
After 10 minutes, Maria emerged from the safety room and apologized to Daniel. She then found an empty office in the residential district to set up a booth for registering new people that Daniel was going to actualize.
Once everything was ready, Daniel tried to actualize Atlanteus first, but he couldn't. He realized that the only location that generated the holy element was destroyed along with the condominium. He tried using mana refinery, but it didn't work. He needed mana that was generated from the real world, either from the location or by turning someone into pure mana, like he did with the Master Rank mage he fought before actualizing Michaela.
Daniel began actualizing sentient creatures, such as Atlantean sailors who had the ability to control vehicles, Atlantean Vanguards who were soldiers in the war between Atlantis and Poseidon, as well as Atlantean scholars and artificers.
Once they were actualized, Daniel directed them towards Maria, who had set up a booth to register them and give names to any non-unique creatures that he had actualized.
Everyone obediently walked towards Maria and registered themselves, each waiting patiently for their turn to receive a name. The first thirty minutes passed smoothly as Daniel continued to actualize necessary creature cards needed to run the base. Then, after ten minutes, something strange happened.
After actualizing enough sentient creatures to run the base, Daniel proceeded to actualize Penthesilea. As mana gathered in front of him and took shape, time seemed to slow down until it stopped altogether once Penthesilea materialized.
Daniel then noticed something odd: Penthesilea's long hair, which should have fallen due to gravity, was suspended in mid-air. He also saw cracks in the space in front of him, similar to those that appear when a glass is struck with enough force to crack it.
The door of the shop suddenly appeared, and The Keeper walked out with a serious expression. He looked at the crack intently for a moment before waving his hand, and the crack was repaired within seconds.
"It seems to be more fragile than I thought," The Keeper uttered as he looked at the space that he had mend.
