Chapter 9 Pursue

Just when I was confused, I received the divorce agreement from Jonathan. The lawyer secretly told me that it was Kevin’s help that allowed me to get it so quickly.

But I couldn’t understand why Kevin said this was also a gift for him. I had a guess in my heart, but I didn’t dare to think too much about it.

I had had a failed relationship, and I dared not have too many expectations of a relationship again.

The next day, Kevin said he would give me a day off to deal with the divorce.

Jonathan and I made an appointment to get divorced.

I met Jonathan at the gate of the Civil Bureau. He looked much older and had an unshaven face. It was the first time I saw him looking so disheveled.

Jonathan forced a smile and said, “You must be happy to see me like this.”

I said calmly, “There’s no need to talk about this. After we get divorced, we’ll just be strangers.”

Jonathan said, “You don’t have to divorce with nothing. I can give you some money.”

I laughed and exposed him directly, “If you want to give it to me, you can just modify the divorce agreement. You don’t have to say it here in a hypocritical way. You just want to maintain your good image even after our divorce.”

Jonathan stopped talking after hearing this.

We got divorced quickly, and when we walked out, he said to me, “I’ll drive you to wherever you want to go.”

I was just about to say I could take a taxi, but unexpectedly a Maybach stopped in front of me, and Kevin got out of the car holding a bunch of roses and walked up to me, saying “Let’s have a meal together to celebrate the new life, okay?”

I took the flowers and said, “Okay.”

I followed Kevin and walked straight forward without even glancing at Jonathan. We both tacitly ignored him…..

After we got in the car, Kevin looked at me and said, “You’re single now, can you give me a chance to pursue you?”

I was a little surprised and said, “Why didn’t you ask me when you gave me the flowers just now?”

He looked at me sincerely and said, “Because I didn’t say this to embarrass Jonathan but because I have liked you for a long time. It is only about you, so there is no need to let others know.” I smiled and said, “It all depends on your performance!”
