Chapter 3
-Bloom-
"What? What is going on?"I screamed, trying to get away from this man's grasp. Key word, trying! And very clearly failing.
I needed to know his name, before we moved anywhere, that would probably have been conveniently handy.
"Stop struggling mate. You can't get away from me no matter how much you try,” The Alpha, me still not knowing his name,
growled loudly in my ear, holding me tighter against his rock hard chest.
"Yeah yeah, I know, you have said that about a hundred times already,” I sighed as I rolled my eyes, ‘maybe this so called mate
of mine wouldn’t be so bad after all’ I thought to myself, shrugging my shoulders. That was until I heard consistent sniffing
sounds.
"Why do you smell like the Summers packs Alpha?" He growled angrily, his beautiful hazel eyes glowing black in anger.
"H...H...he was M..my M..ate"I stuttered, "I rejected him because he abused me."
I felt embarrassed talking about him and very uncomfortable too. Which is ironic because I just had spilled the biggest thing
about my life to a complete stranger. Why did my life have to be so confusing?
"He will not touch you now and as you rejected him, you instantly signed yourself up for a second chance, which seems to me to
be a blessing in disguise, that is how we are mates my dear," He explained, looking down at me chuckling slightly, upon closer
inspection of his face, he seemed to have one cheek dimple that appeared whenever he laughed.
I was shocked at this.
How did the moon goddess manage to give second chance mates? I thought they never usually happened to anyone because
you only have one half of your soul, there was no way that the other half of it could be in more than one body.
Could you go any more than that or was two the limit? Well I didn't want to find out any time soon anyway.
I don't think this mate was rejecting me or than I would reject him any time in the future. I hoped this actually works out in my
favour.
"It feels good to hear that. What's your name? I am Bloom," I spoke confidently with a bit of cowering in the last words.
"The names Alpha Jackson but you can call me James,” I loved the huskiness in his voice showing authority but also affection.
"Okay James, what pack is this?" I asked calmly but wanted to run away.
"The Royal Pack," he replied as relaxed as I don’t know what. It was then that he had decided to slip his shirt over my head. It
was a grey v-neck that reached to just above my knees, “you looked cold,” he shrugged, which he was right about, when I looked
at him strangely.
My mouth dropped open. Like the Royal pack. Was he the king then if he was the Alpha?
"Well duh, that would you idiot!" My wolf spoke matter-of-factly inside my head. I just blocked her out again. I thought I had
already done that.
Out of the blue, a young girl with long wavy bleached-blonde hair that looked practically green, with the worst shabby-looking
extensions, came running out of what looked like a palace.
"James baby are you coming to play with me yet you promised?”
I stared in amazement at her comment. I felt my eyes well up at the though of her and my mate.
"Who is this skank?" She looked at me out of the corner of her eyes spitefully, flipping her hair obnoxiously over her shoulders,
trying to flirt even more with James.
"Go away Melanie and since when did I promise you anything. Do not call me baby cause I am most definitely not your baby, so
leave me and my Mate alone!" James shouted whilst letting out a loud growl at the end. His eyes shifted from hazel to black, a
void of any emotion other than anger and disgust.
"But you promised," she whined, well what she obviously thought was a whine, but it sounded like she was a screaming
Banshee.
"I never promised anything now get out my sight before I banish you! Your family will hear of your idiocy,” James howled holding
me close to him tightly. He really didn't want to let me go any time soon did he.
"She means nothing to me and never has. I do not even know why she tries any more. No one really likes her in this pack,” I
snuggled into his chest lightly, enjoying the feeling of being so close to my mate, even if we just met.
"You know what's weird. I didn't actually mind that so much, seeing you shoot her down was just so comical,” I chuckled, my wolf
howled internally with laughter at him humiliating her in-front of me.
"Come on, lets go inside show you around and our room," He spoke, emphasising the 'our room' part of his sentence.
Walking inside the palace, I was awe-struck.
Diamond chandeliers hung professionally from the ceiling, lighting up the hall brightly. Picture after picture of what I could only
guess was each royal family through the generations scattered on the light grey coloured walls.
James slowly and gently placed me down on my feet, the first picture I noticed being one with two adults, a male and a female
I'm guessing they were the King and Queen. They were standing behind three children, two boys and a younger girl.
The eldest looking boy looked exactly like James just a younger version. The other boy, I could not recognise even a little.
"He was my brother, Kaden." James came up behind me, standing with his hands behind his back, eyes glassy with tears that
were yet to spill.
"Was?" I looked him straight in the eyes, watching him as he shifted awkwardly.
"uh-huh, he, well he died two years ago. He had gone hunting with my Father as is tradition for the youngest son to do on their
18th Birthday. Hunters were their and shot him dead. Father managed to get away, hated himself ever since," He answered,
walking past me to a staircase, "Well, we better get going, It's late so I will show you the room and we can sleep."
Walking up the staircase, I could not help but notice the intricate designs gracing the white coloured wooden banister.
We walked up five of these staircases before finally reaching a black door with a name engraved into it. 'James'. I guess this was
his, now our, room.
