you
The man’s brow furrowed nighter, sensing more and more that Harper had changed.
Her words were sharp and confrontational.
This wasn’t the gentle woman he knew, and it jarred him.
“If you’re upset because I didn’t tell you, it was my fault. It won’t happen again, okay?”
Harper fell silent.
Benjamin’s face was solemn, and he spoke in a deep voice, “If you have any other problems, just say it now.”
“It’s not that I have problems, but how long are you going to lie to me?
What do you mean lie to you?
Harper felt completely helpless, wondering why Benjamin wouldn’t admit it at this point.
She said, “Benjamin, you don’t need to hide things from me. We are getting divorced anyway. I wish you could just be honest with me. Even if you were going to pick out a wedding dress with Lauren to prepare for your upcoming wedding, you could’ve told me. So, I wouldn’t have felt Eke a fool calling to disturb you two.”
They were husband and wife, and yet they didn’t even have a single photo together.
Apart from a marriage certificate and the sex, she couldn’t find any other signs of them being a married couple.
Harper’s heart ached terribly as she thought about this.
Her heart ached for the year she had been by his side, and for the end of their marriage.
She didn’t regret loving harm, but loving him felt like a cruel twist of fate.
Harper quickly lowered her head, not wanting Benjamin to see the tears welling up in her ayes. She refused to let Benjamin se her weakness.
Benjamin’s eyes widened, ha gaze filled with shock an he said, “What wedding dress? Harper, what are you talking about?”
“Can’t you just admit it?”

“Why would I admit to something I didn’t do? Harper, this isn’t like you. Where’s all this suspicion coming from”
Benjamin loaned his tie, his hands on his hips, and his handsome face looked cold and sharp.
He exuded a pen of cold indifference.
Benjamin stared intensely at the woman before him. He barely contained his emotions anymore. “Are you making this up to push me into a divorce?
Harper looked up, her eyes wide. “Lauren told me you were picking out a wedding drem, Benjamin. If you’re worried I’ll expose you in front of Grandpa and your parents, you can rest easy. I’m not that despicable, and I wouldn’t do that.”
She had loved her so much. Now, it was his insistence on divores that showed har just how little she meant to him.
She’d put up a wall to keep some scrap of dignity for herself before he could destroy her completely.
Benjamin understood her point,
“Look, maybe you misunderstood. I was just helping her pick out some clothes since she’s leaving the hospital today. And she was just using my phone so she could call har former agent.”
“So, you’re saying Im accusing Lauren of nothing and lying about you two?
“I didn’t say that.”
“But in’t that what you mean? I don’t understand why your phone always happens to be with Lauren whenever I try to call you. If you don’t want to answer, then I went bother calling anymore.”
Hor were treabled, nearing a breaking paint. Her hands clenched tightly under the covers. She feared she might loss control and start crying.
