Chapter 340
This time, Adam was still acting as the driver, and Lumma was still sitting in the passenger seat. He didn't say where they were going, but Lumma couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Hills, are we going to deal with the aftermath of the bomb attack?"
"Hmm." Adam nodded, focused on driving, taking Lumma through one street after another.
He drove attentively without speaking, and Lumma didn't know what to say to him, so she turned her head and looked at the snowflakes falling outside the window.
It had been snowing for two or three hours, and it was heavy. The trees and roofs along the streets were covered with thick snow, making the city look like a castle from a fairy tale, incredibly dreamy. "Do you like what you see?" Adam suddenly spoke, his voice was his usual voice, deep and intoxicating, like fine wine.
Lumma nodded gently, "I like it."
She knew the nature of their relationship, but sometimes she still found herself captivated by his enchanting voice. She always wished her husband Lucas had a voice like that - it would be perfect if he had
one.
Just then, Adam's phone suddenly rang. His phone was connected to the car's
Bluetooth, and Lumma could clearly hear what the other person said when he
answered the call, "Mr. Hills, we have taken care of things here. We will send you the handling report later. You and your assistant don't need to make another trip."
It was the voice of an unfamiliar man on the phone. Lumma couldn't recall encountering any colleagues in Preivlille with that voice recently, but she had met so many colleagues that she didn't pay attention to any potential issues.
"Got it." Adam replied and hung up the phone, then looked at Lumma, "They have taken care of things over there. It seems we came here for nothing."
The general reaction to receiving a message that says you don't have to work overtime while on the way to work overtime is like Adam's. I took so long to get ready and now you tell me I don't have to work overtime. Are you kidding me?
But upon further consideration, it was actually a good thing.
Lumma was excited and forgot to hide her emotions, "Mr. Hills, let's go back first. When we get back, I still have time to invite Judy to go to the Preivlille Tower to see the snow."
"We're not close to home right now, and if we go back and then come out again, it will be too late," Adam hesitated for a moment, then seeing Lumma looking dejected, he said, "I know a good observation deck nearby where we can get a better view of the snow on the Preivlille Tower. If you really like to see it, I can take you there."
Lumma thought she wouldn't be able to see the snow on the Preivlille Tower
tonight, but then Adam suddenly said he could take her there. She agreed immediately, "Okay! Thank you, Mr. Hills!"
After agreeing, Lumma realized that it seemed inappropriate to go with him to see the snow on the Preivlille Tower, but she couldn't back out now, so she could only brace herself and go with him. Little did Lumma know that all of this was orchestrated by Adam.
The overtime was his fabrication, and the call saying the matter had been taken care of was his arrangement.
When they returned from the supermarket in the afternoon, he saw how excited she was when she saw the snow, and he immediately thought of taking her to the most extravagant spot in Preivlille to see the
snow.
When it came to her, no matter how big or small the thing was, Adam had already gotten used to keeping it firmly in his heart.
