Chapter 377
Chapter 377 Such a Low-Level Scheme
“Three days from now, on your 88th birthday, I will invite him to our house under the pretense of celebrating your birthday. At that
time, you will reunite with him. I guarantee that my great-aunt will have nothing to say,” Cecelia said.
After Cecelia finished speaking, Alfred seemed to be deep in thought, pondering whether Cecelia’s plan was feasible or not.
Seeing him hesitate, Cecelia added, “Great-uncle, if you’re afraid that my great-aunt will cause trouble, then we’ll play it by ear. If
she is too agitated, you don’t have to be in a rush to reunite with Benson. We can just treat him as a guest who came to
celebrate your birthday, alright?”
With a way out, Alfred finally agreed, “Alright, I’ll do what you say. I’ll have someone send him an invitation later.”
“Okay, Great-uncle, have a rest first. I’ll go downstairs to prepare,” Cecelia said.
After the discussion, Cecelia left the main house and returned to her own room.
Back in her room, she opened the door and felt for the switch on the wall.
With a click, the entire room instantly lit up.
But the next second, she was startled by the sight in the room. “Ah, Daisy!”
Daisy was lying on the ground, a dagger sticking out of her chest, and the floor around her was stained with her blood.
Seeing this scene, Cecelia’s blood froze, and she immediately took out her phone, ready to call Remington and the others.
But before she could dial the number, a group of people rushed in from outside, accompanied by shouting voices.
“Have you not found out where Daisy is? How can a person just disappear into thin air? Hurry up and search for her. Check
every room!”
It was Queenie’s voice!
Cecelia felt a sense of unease and quickly retreated from the room, coincidentally running into Queenie who was leading the
search party upstairs.
When Queenie saw Cecelia, she asked, “Cecelia, have you seen Daisy?”
“Why are you looking for Daisy?”
Cecelia stared at Queenie. She had calmed down and figured it out.
Daisy was killed and found dead in her room. Queenie happened to bring people to search for Daisy. If they discovered Daisy’s
dead body in her room, they could frame her for the murder.
What a low-level scheme!
“I need to check with her about the preparations for Grandpa’s birthday. Why did she suddenly disappear?”
Queenie ordered the people around her, “Search all these rooms and find Daisy quickly!”
The servants got the order and searched every room rudely and aggressively. Cecelia’s room was not locked, so someone went
in directly and then let out a sharp scream.
“Ah!”
The servant Sam ran out screaming, “Oh no, Miss Queenie! I found... I found...”
“What did you find? Spit it out!”
“Daisy is dead! She was killed by someone!”
“What? What did you say? Was Daisy killed by someone?”
After hearing the astonished exclamation, Queenie quickly rushed into Cecelia’s room with her people. They all saw Daisy’s
dead body and were shocked by the scene in the room.
Queenie then came out, trembling with fear as she questioned, “Cecelia, did you... kill her?”
Cecelia coldly retorted, “Queenie, which eye of yours saw me kill her?”
“How dare you deny it? Why did Daisy die in your room?” Queenie interrogated.
“I don’t know either. I just came back from outside.”
“Humph. Do you want to evade responsibility by saying you don’t know?”
Queenie regarded Cecelia as the murderer and ordered her subordinates, “Go quickly! Hurry up and inform my grandparents
and father, and don’t forget to call the police!”
The servants quickly ran off to report this matter, while Queenie stayed behind with two others, watching Cecelia. “Cecelia, you
are now a suspect. Don’t think about escaping from the scene before the police arrive!”
“I won’t leave. I also want to stay and see who killed Daisy.”
Cecelia locked eyes with Queenie. She didn’t kill anyone, and she had always conducted herself properly. Why should she fear
their accusations?
The news of Daisy’s murder quickly attracted a crowd. Carol brought many Songo family members with her.
They all came to the room. Carol, upon seeing Queenie and the others, asked, “Queenie, what happened? Did something really
happen to Daisy?”
“Yes, grandmother. Daisy was killed!” Queenie approached and supported Carol.
Carol couldn’t believe it. “How could this happen? Daisy was fine during dinner, wasn’t she?”
Warda and Edwin were also shocked. “Where is Daisy’s body?”
“It’s in that room! We just discovered it.”
Queenie pointed to Cecelia’s room. Warda was astonished. “Isn’t that Cecelia’s room? How...”
Everyone looked at Cecelia in shock. Carol furrowed her brows and walked over with the help of her cane.
Seeing that they all wanted to enter the room to see what was happening, Cecelia reminded them, “Before the murderer is
found, you’d better not go in to avoid leaving footprints and becoming suspects.”
Her words successfully stopped everyone in their tracks. Carol and the others could only stand at the door and peer inside.
They all saw Daisy’s dead body inside, looking shocked and terrified.
“Oh, it’s really Daisy. How did she end up dead here?”
Dana seemed to be somewhat sad and covered her mouth and nose with a handkerchief.
After taking a look, Carol turned back to Cecelia and questioned her, “Cecelia, what’s going on? Why did Daisy die in your room?
Did you kill her?”
“Great-aunt, I didn’t kill Daisy.”
“If you didn’t kill her, then how did she end up dead here?” Carol didn’t believe her.
Warda also asked with concern, “Cecelia, is there some misunderstanding?”
Cecelia shook her head and defended herself, “Great-aunt, I went to see my Great-uncle earlier. Both you and Aunt saw me.
After I finished talking with my Great-uncle, I came back to my room and found Daisy dead here. How could I have killed her in
such a short time?”
“You say it wasn’t you, but Daisy did die in your room. How do you explain that?” Dana retorted.
“I can’t explain it. The truth will be revealed once the police come and investigate.”
After Cecelia said that indifferently and fearlessly, she looked at Queenie with a cold gaze. Queenie lifted her chin slightly, her
eyes filled with arrogance.
After receiving Cecelia’s notification, Remington and Adam immediately took control of the Songo family’s internal surveillance
system.
Adam searched for suspicious individuals one by one, while Remington rushed to the room to find Cecelia.
Upon arriving and seeing everyone present, he exchanged a glance with Cecelia. She nodded to indicate that everything was
fine.
After Remington inspected the crime scene, a sense of anger welled up in his heart. Who would stoop so low as to frame Cece
with such a childish act?
The crowd discussed until the Songo family’s servants brought the police in. Mr. Boris, the police officer who had been present
before, led the forensic team and other officers to investigate.
Mr. Boris arrived at the scene and asked, “We are from the Porema Police. My last name is Boris. We received a report about a
homicide. Can you please explain the situation?”
Dana spoke up immediately, “Mr. Boris, you’ve come just in time! Our family’s old nanny, Daisy, was killed. Please quickly find
out who the murderer is. Don’t let the murderer get away!”
