Maid for The Alphas: An Omegaverse Reverse Harem Romance (Dawn of The Alphas Book 1)

Maid for The Alphas: Chapter 8

You can stop here,” I said to Jeff, the limo driver, as he drove towards my home. I wanted to stop at the local mall so I could purchase a few very much-needed things with the cash bundled up in my backpack.

I was pleasantly surprised upon leaving the alphas’ residence when Zaff saw me at the door with a somber expression, handing me an advance of two thousand dollars. I tried to refuse it, but he wouldn’t hear of it, so during the entire ride home, I kept thinking about what I would do with the money.

“Sure thing,” said Jeff, and I hopped out of the limo. I had changed back into my regular leggings and shirt, and I was grateful to remove the skimpy lingerie they made me wear. But I needed new outfits to wear at home regardless.

The mall was cool inside compared to the summer air outside. Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ Find ɴøᴠel.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Humans were everywhere shopping, and I weaved between them, looking for a low-budget store. I had plenty of money right now, but I still felt like I needed to get a good deal. I’ve only been here a couple of times with my aunt because we were usually too busy working. I was still fascinated by all the different shops, vendors, and loud music. Upon going to one of the discount stores, I saw a crying child cowering before his father, and I knew instantly something was very wrong here.

It alerted something deep inside me.

“You know not to touch the glass,” the father raged at him. He lifted his arm, and my heart pounded crazily in my chest as I ran towards them. I blocked his arm, grabbing the watch on his wrist. I was shocked by the heaviness of his arm and the force he was about to inflict on the child.

“How could you?!” I screamed at him, and he looked shocked for a moment. The shoppers around us stopped what they were doing and started pulling out their phones to record.

“I’m disciplining my child,” he spat out, shaking his arm from my grip.

“Someone call the police,” I said with my eyes on him. I was seething, my heart pounding hard with adrenaline. I would rather take the blow instead of the kid getting hurt.

The shoppers ignored me, continuing on with their business like nothing happened. I walked away, glaring at him and keeping a watchful eye on the child as I walked into the shop.

Something about that unsettled me.

It angered me watching him talk to the kid that way. And it also brought flashbacks of my own father treating me the same way. It wasn’t just a parent simply disciplining their kid. It was the father’s tone of disregard and disrespect. Treating his kid like he was utter trash.

I knew the feeling all too well.

No longer filled with excitement, I shopped for shirts, perfume, and shoes. As the evening went on, the event from earlier began to dwindle away until I was excited again, holding all the bags in my hands. I even bought a bunch of oversized shirts for Aunt Julie, lotions, and a centerpiece candle for our trailer. Maybe one day we would move into an apartment once I got used to my new job.

“Ooh, what are all those bags?” my aunt asked, wide-eyed, when I stepped into the trailer with the bags rustling in my hands.

“I did a little shopping,” I said excitedly, pulling out everything I bought for her. I felt proud of myself for helping out massively and making our lives just a little bit easier. “Look.”

“Oh my gosh, Bree! You didn’t have to spend all your money,” she said woefully, clapping a hand to her mouth and holding the outfits up in her hands.

“It’s not even half of it,” I said, pulling the wad of one-thousand-five hundred left. I counted out five hundred and handed it over to her. “For any bills.”

“All this from your new job?” she asked incredulously.

“Yep,” I said, smiling.

“You sure you’re not stripping for them or something?”

“Uh, no,” I said, my heart racing. “Of course not, Auntie. Why would you think that?”

“It’s just a joke, sweetheart. I was going to suggest moving again, but I think we could wait a little while longer,” she said, laughing. Her laugh came out as a bark due to her smoking. I understood her need to move, as it was dangerous to stay in one area and risk getting caught.

“Let’s just hope nothing happens,” I said.

But that night, we were awakened once again by the loud wolf howls from outside our trailer.

And they were much louder and more aggressive this time.

“Oh my gosh, do you hear that?” said Aunt Julie, rushing to the kitchen in the dark. I could hear her rummaging in the knife drawer. The intense howling continued outside for the next few minutes.

“What the hell is happening?” I said, also getting up and going into the kitchen to join my aunt. My heart was pounding in fear as we both peered through the window. We couldn’t see anything, but we could still hear them.

“I’m sorry, Bree, but this is the last straw,” my aunt whispered harshly. “We need to leave this place.”

“Shit,” I said under my breath. All my plans were going out the door, and this was the closest I’d ever gotten to my dreams. I needed to make it work. “Let me at least resign from my job tomorrow.”

“Fine, but when you get back home, we’ll be packing pronto,” she said.

My chest began to hurt.

Damn it, why did the thought of never working another day for the alphas cause me pain? I couldn’t get attached to them already, and there was no way I was going to let it happen.

That night, I slept with the knife under my pillow as I listened to the endless howling outside. There was either a pack who had relocated here or the billionaire alphas I was working for, which I highly doubted. As I closed my eyes that night, fear crept into my heart. What if they were sent by Henry to look for my aunt? And if anything happened to my aunt because of me, I would never forgive myself. It would be entirely my fault for staying here even longer than necessary.

But tomorrow, I’d have to resign from my job no matter what.

Zaff

The next day, I was excited as I drank coffee with my pack. I had a proposal I wanted to ask our new maid, Breanna, but first, I had to run it by my pack even though my word was law around here. I needed their input so it could at least feel like a democracy to them.

“Alright, men,” I said, setting down my cup of steaming coffee on the table. Getting up, I paced around the room, wearing my suit. I was always ready for business. Chad was still rubbing his eyes, looking tiredly at me, his hair still messy from sleep. Ruston was polishing his glasses and leaning against the wall while Oscar was watching some videos of martial arts on his phone.

“What is it?” said Ruston, looking eagerly at me. He was always the most excited about my plans and sometimes harebrained schemes.

“I personally think our new maid is quite cute,” I started to the groans of Oscar.

“Not another one,” grunted Oscar as he took a giant sip of coffee. “You traumatized our last girl. Let’s just pick up an omega from Henry or go back to Howl’s Edge Island, where we fuckin’ belong.”

“We left Henry for a reason,” I said. “We know he’s corrupted as fuck, and we should never have come here with him.”

We didn’t have a choice when Henry was caught by Howl’s Edge authorities, and we were made to take any omega we could with us to start our own pack here in the human lands. Everything was normal when we arrived in El Paso until our boss, Henry, changed drastically. He would ‘borrow’ omegas from an alpha pack with no questions asked. He did things that broke the unsaid alpha rules that disgruntled packs, but I wasn’t going to have that kind of treatment. If my pack and I were going to have an omega, she was going to be damn well ours and not his.

I wasn’t willing to share. Not even for one night.

“So, what do you intend to do with our new cute maid?” asked Ruston.

“Guess,” I said.

“To knot her, of course,” said Chad, his eyes gleaming with excitement. “It’s been a while since I knotted anyone, and I’m getting that itch again.”

“No one touches her,” growled Oscar. “Just jack off in your room or something.”

“It’ll be her choice, of course,” I said, surprised at how protective Oscar was of her. I’ve never seen him like this. “If she’s interested, we’ll give her a non-disclosure form. If she even tells one human friend of hers what we were doing to her, our empire collapses.”

“And if she says no?” asked Oscar.

“Then we’ll respect that, but she won’t be able to stay away from me for too long,” I said, remembering her blushing furiously as she sat next to me during brunch. We were irresistible to her as she was to us. “She almost has the appeal of an omega, wouldn’t you agree?”

“Almost,” said Oscar. “But she’s not. She’s human, and we can’t rut her like an omega. She doesn’t know what to expect from our knots, and it would hurt to see her cry in pain.”

“Oh, Oscar,” I sighed. “When did you get so soft? She’ll be able to handle it. We’ll give her full warning.”

“I doubt that,” he said, turning his gaze back to his phone.

I shook my head. It was typical of Oscar to ruin my fun. If it wasn’t about girls, it was something else, but his heart was in the right place. Leaving my cold coffee on the table, I headed back into my office to find the NDA document for our new maid. I didn’t want to hurt her, so I would make sure I explained everything correctly and how long the knot would last inside her.

My cock was hard as fuck as I rifled through the papers. By tonight I’d have her tight, willing pussy bucking underneath me as I rutted her. I squeezed my cock, “Soon, buddy. Very soon, and she’ll be ours.”
