Chapter Rest little wolf

Madilynne's P.O.V

I raced through the small cluster of trees, rain poured as my paws thundered across the earth. The weather, fitting for the storm of feelings inside of me.

I broke through a clearing, freezing at my spot when I saw how many rogues had gotten through.

I could see at least Thirty of them attacking my pack. Enforcers battled with the vicious creatures. Aiden had just taken one down, swiftly turning and biting into another. I searched for the others but I didn’t know what their wolves looked like. I growled out in frustration.

I had given away my position, watching as two rogues snapped their gaze towards my white wolf. I let out a warning snarl. Bring it, bastards.

I charged at the rogues running directly at me. I pulled my face into a snarl exposing my canines, ready to sink into flesh.

Colliding with one as the other barreled into my side, I instinctively locked my jaws around the first rogue’s neck and shaking until it snapped. I dropped it from my mouth, but not quick enough. The second rogue latched on to my right flank pressing harder until I heard a snap. Fuck! I let out a painful howl as I felt a searing pain shoot up my leg, ripping out of the rogue’s grip I turned and sunk my canines into its throat. Shredding the muscle and ripping its life from its body.

I stood and quickly fell to the now muddy field, blood staining my once white fur. I could see a rogue dashing for me from my left before a black mass came flying out of nowhere quickly ending the threat. The wolf turned to me and I instantly recognized the black wolf in front of me, the green eyes a dead give away. Kade.

Enforcers, as well as pack members, were dropping the rogues like toys, ending their existence swiftly.

‘Katie! You have to find Katie!’ I pushed into Kades mind. I watched as it sunk in and he quickly took off towards the packhouse.

A sandy brown wolf approached me, It was dad. He shifted and quickly came to my side ‘Madi you were supposed to stay in the house damnit’

I shifted back from my wolf. I cried out as I did from the pain in my leg. “I couldn’t they’re here for Katie. WHERE THE HELL IS SHE” I roared out through clenched teeth. Goddess why the hell does this hurt so bad!

“Hold still it wasn’t a clean break I need to put it back in place before it heals.” I nodded holding back a grunt.

SNAP.

Pain shot up through my leg again, this time less severe than the initial break, still hurt like a bitch. “There, it’ll heal in a few days.”

“Like hell, I need to find Katie.” I reached down to my thigh and hovered my hand over the exposed wound. I pictured the bone connecting and the flesh reforming like I had when I fell and hit my head. The sensation was warming and tingled, soon the wound was replaced with a vibrant gold slash, inches wide as well in length.

I braced myself for a shooting pain when I stood, but none came. “Well, I’ll be damned.” My dad said as he rushed to my side just before reaching out to aid me.

I started a slow jog towards the house, breaking into a sprint. I reached the packhouse but it was quiet. Too quiet. ‘Kade’ No response. ‘Dad, something’s off, get to the packhouse, now!’

I ran up the steps, pausing at the front door. Instinctually I scented the air. Rogue! I burst through the front door, my senses ambushed with the thick smell of blood. I followed it into the kitchen, one of the guards lay on the floor unmoving. I reached for his neck to find a pulse, it was faint but it was there. My hands moved on their own accord, running over the wounds and healing. His heartbeat picked up, a breath of relief left my lips, he’d live to see another day.

I ran up the stairs, checking all the rooms, as well as downstairs. Scenting more blood towards the back of the house, I slowly pushed out of the back door. The last of the two guards were limp next to it, I felt for pulses. One had already died, the second was still hanging on by a thread. I pictured him healed and breathing and so it happened. I lifted my hands from him and moved to the first guard “Rest now friend, Your fight is over.” I whispered as I closed his eyes for the last time. My chest tightened as I looked at him, how did this happen?

Looking into the woods at first glance there was nothing, my wolf came forward with me still in control, heightening my senses. I could hear Breathing. No heavy pants. I peered again with my crystal clear vision, spotting black fur. KADE.

Running towards my mate, I started to panic. Goddess, please be okay, please be okay!

Reaching him I could hear his breaths were becoming more labored by the second, I couldn’t concentrate and started crying. “Kade. Please!” He grunted and rolled towards my body, my hand was mere inches from his chest and had started to glow again. Gently I placed my shaky hand to his chest, Picturing my mate as I saw him last. No pain, No cuts, No wounds. My perfect mate.

Kade gasped, taking in a full breath, no longer shallow. I could feel his strength was regaining, but I didn’t release my hold just yet, POP, His chest bowed out and then settled back. Reforming into its rightful place. ‘It is done’ willow spoke. Black and white spots started to dance across my vision, I suppose my healing abilities had their limits. I pushed too hard, I could feel it now. ‘Rest Madi, we must rest.’ Willow faintly whispered before laying down in my head.

My body fell next to his. Before I slipped into the consuming darkness I brushed my blood-stained hand against his face. Sparks gracing our touch “Mate.”

As my eyes fluttered shut a figure came into view, the scent somehow familiar. Hearing his laugh struck fear through me, but I had no energy to fight him. I drifted off into the obsidian in my mind. Rest.
